As with every parent of a young child in D-Corp Alora's mother would have received a phone call to have her bring her in immediately. After checking a few other children it was Alora's turn. The doctor turned to greet them, however as soon as he saw the girl her symptoms were more then evident.
This time the tech was ready in the back of the room with a stretcher, he didn't want to be yelled at again like last time.
"Bring that over here, now!" Acklin instructed as the tech rushed over with the stretcher. It didn't take them long to load the girl up and cart her off.
"Please wait here," Was all he had to say to the dove's mother as she was rushed out.
-----
The room was already prepared, after the last child in the room next door he was sure to have things ready if another were to come in in the same condition. Once she was transferred onto the bed an IV was prepared by the doctor.

Alora's "mother" in question, was already speeding over when she had received the call. It didn't make it any better, knowing that they knew. They knew something was going to happen. She could sense it.
It made things even worse when Alora was immediately whisked away from her and she was left standing there, lost and scared. She had tried to locate Mereneth, to hopefully make Alora feel better, but every time she did, she went smack into a barrier. Yourie sighed angrily.
Are you okay? She sent a mental thought to the dove.
Alora herself was far too sick to shrink away from the techs or give them a hostile glare, and she allowed herself to get carried up. She would get better, wouldn't she? She had to find her brother. She lay on the bed, blue eyes turning to look at the doctor as her petite body shook and shivered. "Wha...what...happen...?" She managed to choke out.

"It's going to be alright Alora," The red headed doctor said busying himself with some medical equipment, "I need you to stay calm and relaxed for me, we can't have you getting all excited okay?" He asked getting a cotton ball ready with rubbing alcohol.
"Now I'm going to get you hooked up to an IV, you might feel a sting but I need you to be tough and hang in there okay?" The doctor asked rubbing down one of the girls wrists with the cotton ball.

Not a tech, not a tech.
These were the only comforting words she could think of, and she hung onto Yourie's murmurs in her head. It made her feel better and she managed to nod. The doctor looked nice. And for now, she had to just trust him. She would be fine. She had to be. Her brother was still out there, somewhere.
Her chest heaved with her breaths and she nodded, looking away from him. Alora didn't like seeing the needle pierce her skin; she had avoided it when she had done her vaccinations as well. She wanted to ask why she was like that, but she kept quiet for now.

"That's a good girl," Acklin said as he slipped the IV needle into her wrist. He had dealt with needles enough in his career to be used to them now. He was able to get them in with the least amount of pain. Of course an IV needle was rather large, so it wasn't nothing, but it wasn't any worse than a normal needles pain.
"Here now, this will help you breath better Alora," The doctor said softly as he took an oxygen mask off of a hook on the tank. He strapped it around her head then moved to the heart rate monitor.
"Okay Alora I'm going to have to put some stickers on you now," He had worked at a pediatric hospital before, so luckily for the girl he had a decent grip on how to treat younger patients. He reached down her shirt and gently placed the stickers on her chest and sides as the beeping of the machine started up.

She inhaled as he put the mask over her nose and mouth. Like he said, he made her feel better although she was still shivering, shaking. She managed to nod again. He was a doctor. She shouldn't be scared of him.
I'm fine, Yourie. I'm fine She thought, wanting to put the woman's fears to rest. Go find brother.

"You're being a very good girl," Acklin complimented her as he jotted some things down on a clipboard, "Now, I'm just going to take your temperature and listen inside you a bit okay?" He said reaching over to grab a thermometer, "Now say ahh." The doctor said readying the probe while slipping the stethoscopes ear pieces into place at the same time.

I'm staying. Yourie said firmly in Alora's mind. Are you mad? Fire boy can wait; he can take care of himself. Yes, she trusted him to be responsible for his actions. Now her priority was knowing the winged girl would be fine.
She smiled slightly and nodded, opening her mouth, doing as he said.

"That's a good girl," The doctor said slipping the thermometer under her mouth and going to listen to her heart, lungs etc. He noticed how warm she seemed simply from putting his hand on her forehead.
After checking out her vitals some more, and taking the thermometer out he jotted down some more notes, "Alright Alora, well I have to go now, run some tests, but me or my assistant should come around later to check up on you okay?" He said packing his things up.

Her heart was still beating nervously. She knew she was sick, they knew she was sick. And they seemed worried. Did they know what it was? Alora didn't know, and she was slightly scared, though she had calmed down as Yourie's words ran through her head.
She nodded, giving the doctor a small smile. Yes, maybe she'd get some sleep now.
Rest was always good when you were sick, right?

The next room on Acklins rounds was Alora's. He was quick and wordless with his administration of the vaccine. The shot wasn't painless as it could have been but seeing as how many children needed this shot a small amount of pain was nothing.
Once the shot was complete Acklin rushed off to the next child's room.
