A darkly colored lioness watched the prey with bright green eyes. She made a low growl noise before crouching low to the ground. Her dorsal striped bum rose into the air, wiggled in a playful manner before pouncing, leaping into the air, her paws intent on catching what she was watching. "Gotcha!" She giggled, her paws cupped over something. Opening them slowly, she made a face. "Hey, where'd you go?" The adult element looked around for the horned beetle she had just been stalking. "No fair...I was having fun!" She sighed, standing up and shaking off. "Oh well, there's always next time!" She began to walk away, before stopping.
"Hey...Where'd that bug go?" She looked around confused.

 A large animal lie none-too-far from the female, resting contently in the dried grass. He was busy dreaming of a large meal; too busy to notice her or her prey. That is, until he felt something land on his ear. Flicking his ear in irritation, the male tried not to be disturbed by whatever it was clinging desperately to his fur, but he soon discovered light efforts to get rid of the annoyance weren’t doing him any good at all. Grumbling, he opened his eyes, catching the sight of some kind of bug moving down his mane from his ear. Sitting up slowly, he shook his large mane, sending the beetle flying to the ground. Blinking, it was only once he was up that he finally noticed the lioness looking around a little ways from him. She seemed perplexed by something.
Grinning, he wondered if he might be able to lend her a paw. So he got up, stretching and yawning before making his way the few feet over to the girl.
“Something bothering you, friend?” he asked with a smile, “you look like you’ve lost something.”

After looking for what seemed like hours, Sehemu gave a large 'HMPH', but turned her head quickly at the sound of the voice. Dark green eyes rimmed with bright scanned, spotting an equally dark male witht the lighter markings. Her ears perked forward, tilting her head as she looked around. "Who, me?" She looked around again. I guess that means her.
"I... don't know?" She looked around. The lioness was just over there, but what was she doing? She blinked, turning towards the male before grinning.
"Hi there!" She giggled. "Whatcha doin?" It was as if she hadn't answered the question the male just asked, and just had seen him for the very first time. She kneaded the ground the way a kitten would it's mother, soften the dirt underneath her.

The male gave a laugh. She seemed quite the flighty female. He enjoyed a change of pace every now and again. Seemed most lions were so much less fun than he would have liked. This girl might prove differently. “Yes you!” he chuckled, though he too gave a look around just in case there was someone else in the area that gave merit to her confusion. There was no one, so his eyes returned to the female.
Sitting down, he tilted his head to one side, watching her curiously.
When had the topic changed? Oh well. He grinned.
“Hello! I was just coming over here to see if everything was alright with you! But I guess everything’s fine. My name is Mito. Who are you?”

"Sehemu! It's nice to meet you Mito" She gave a wide smile before her eyes widened. There was a bug that was in Mito's tail tuft! (The same bug as before, but to Sehe, it was a whole new experience.) She croched low to the ground, eyes fixed just at Mito's tail. She pounced at the tail, batting at it slightly before shouting "Gotcha!"
Well, she hadn't gotten anything, and now currently laid on her back, her forelock snagging up dirt from the ground. She gazed backwards (upwards from her posistion of where she was) before grinning sheepishly. "Hey...did you see another lion around here? He kind of looked like you...and name was Mito..I think?" Her eyes rolled from left to right in a thinking manner. Yeah, His name was Mito...or maybe it ir Fito. Kito? Lito? She frowned.
...Ahah! Nito!

Thinking for a moment that Sehemu was going after his hind quarters, Mito let out a yelp, side-stepping at her pounce to avoid whatever if was she had planned for his butt. He soon discovered, though, that she wasn’t going after his a** at all. Rather, it was a bug clinging hopelessly to his tail that had her attention. Good thing too, as he wouldn’t have known what to do if she had decided to attack him.
He was a lover, not a fighter.
Blinking, he didn’t quite know how to answer the female. Turning her eyes off him for three seconds and she had forgotten all about meeting him? Though, not exactly. She remembered the encounter, just not that it had been with HIM. What an odd, fascinating creature he had sprawled in front of his paws. “That’s my name,” he offered faintly, turning around fully to face her, “remember? I just told you it. It’s nice to, uh, meet you, Sehemu.”
Maybe she was playing with him. She seemed very playful.

She gasped. "How'd you know my name?"
Rolling over onto her side, her eyes never left the male lion. As he spoke, she slowly began to raise off the ground, looking quizzically at the male. Really? That was him. Hmm.. She racked her brain, little images coming in and out of focus throughout her mind. She guessed he was telling the truth. She gave him a suspicious look, before grinning. "Nice to meet you too!"
Poor Mito, this was the day he got stuck with a lioness who barely remembered what she last had for a meal, let alone what happened within the last few minutes.
"So Nito..." She blinked. That sounded wrong. Scrunching her eyes, she blurped out "Mito! Whatcha...doin?" And thus the repetiviness begins. "You from around here?" There we go, a different subject!
Now, if the female kept eye contact she could remember, but once her mind drifted, they were start all over again.

“You told it to me!” laughed Mito, watching her carefully. No, it didn’t seem like she was toying with him. Maybe she had been dropped on her head when she was a cub? He wouldn’t ask. Wasn’t his business.
Well.
He wouldn’t ask yet. Perhaps once they had gotten to know each other a bit better, assuming she remembered their meeting ten minutes from now.
Whatever the case, she was friendly enough, and her little… quirk captivated his attention. Again he laughed, this time when she got his name wrong. Nito. That was… close? “I’m…. I’m not doing anything,” he said with a sigh, “and, yeah, I don’t live too far from here at all.” He didn’t like to stray too far from home. Adventure was not his forte.
“What about you? Do you live near here?” If she could remember. He watched her quizzically, the urge to find out more about the strange creature slowly growing in the back of his mind.

Right, like she told a total stranger her name. Mhmm.
"You're lying!" She said out of the blue. "You are doing something." She giggled, reaching a paw over to paw at his tail. "See you are talk to me!" She grinned, rolling her eyes slightly with a look of how a human girl would go 'peh, men.' But her look was slightly...more childish.
"I live over there!" She pointed her paw towards the east. "Wait...no...I live over that way!" She changed her direction, getting up and spinning so now her whole body pointed north.
"..." She was quiet. That wasn't right. Looking behind her, she spotted her own green tuft tail and made a little squealing noise before pouncing on it. Grabbing it with her maw, she held it like a puppy who just got a new bone. Her dark eyes settled on the male again, tilting her head.
Sehemu gave Mito a puppy dog look, as if asking 'Who are you?' She didn't though, instead, she spit out her tail (which landed with a small thump) before asking, "Heeey mister, do you want to play again?"

“Ah,” mused the large, puffy male, “I suppose you’re right about that. I was doing something after all! Nice catch.” He wiggled his tail up and down, letting her bat at it. She was a little childish, it seemed, but that was oddly endearing. Maybe it was difficult for someone with a short term memory to really grow up.
Sometimes he felt staying a kid would be great. He almost envied her spirit and charm. He frowned as she looked around for her home. Was she lost? That wasn’t good. Maybe he could help her get home once they were done getting to know one another. It was the least he could do.
“Again?” purred Mito. Was she just assuming that they had been playing before? He just couldn’t understand. Still, he wasn’t ready to ask her about it. The ambiguity of it all was rather entertaining. Though, admittedly, it wasn’t quite as good as taking a nap or having a really good meal. Looking at the clouds… staying in his den. Wait.
Where was he going with that?
“Sure,” he replied after a moment to regain his thoughts, “we can play. What would you like to play?” He didn’t dare say her name again, in case she got frightened about him knowing it for no reason. Or, no reason in her mind, at least.

She nodded, and squeaked excitedly when he agreed. Surely she had played with him before! He looked so familiar...from where?
Their old home! That was it! She grinned to herself.
"Oh..umm..." She thought for a moment. What could they do. "Let's play that game where you hide and I find you!" She looked around. That wouldn't work...this was the rogue lands with barely any good hiding spots. She frowned. "Tag?" That was a three lion plus game. Darn, this was hard.
"We could play catch the fireflies?" But it wasn't dark. "Or that game where you hide and I find you!" She said excitedly.
Her tail flicked slightly, watching the male carefully.

Mito laughed. She had just said the same game twice. Was to be expected, he supposed. He hadn’t spent much time with her, but he was already starting to grow used to the odd way in which she acted. He wondered if other lions had met her and found her forgetfulness irritating- it was something that could get on the nerves of many of the gloomy-assed lions roaming the rogue lands. But he couldn’t see any injuries on her. Anything that might make it look like she had been attacked for something she clearly couldn’t control.
That was good.
“Well, if we play that game we’d have to find a place where there are areas to hide in! not out here. Also, you should be the one to hide.” Because if he hid he had a sneaking suspicion she would forget to find him. And knowing him he’d wait for her for hours. It would be a bad situation.
“Why don’t we play tag? You could try to catch me. If you do…. Hmm…. We can come up with some kind of reward.”
((Lmao! I hadn't even noticed it was a typo. XD))

"We can go to the place where the water falls from those high cliffs!" It was suprising Sehemu remembered a place she had visited, but if Mito asked where you could find the jungle, they would be back at square one. The lioness could remember a few things, which meant her memory was not terribly bad.
All the time at least.
She nodded however, tag was fun! She pranced around the dark lion accented with the diamond markings, her markings almost marking a straight line of bright green as each paw passed eachother. She stopped infront of the male again, smiling.
"Okay! I'm it!" She crouched down low, her ears perking when she heard the word prize. Oh, she knew that word alright! "Wait! What kind of prize?" She said with an awe. She liked prizes!
Finally, a conversation not switching subject...
...yet.

“A waterfall?” Mito frowned. He hadn’t seen any around his area. That meant it was probably further away than he usually traveled. “You remember where to find this place?” He asked faintly, almost hoping she didn’t. At least then he wouldn’t have to leave his comfort zone.
Still, he felt he would do it if it meant hanging around this strange creature a little longer.
He watched her, tensing to get ready to run. When the motion was suddenly denied by the question, however, he very nearly fell over, straightening up quickly and giving himself a moment to think about it. What could he, a large, lazy lion, offer as a reward?
“Hmmmm… I don’t know,” he said after a moment, giving up on trying to come up with something on his own, “what kind of a prize would you like to have? I don’t know what I could offer you. Why don’t we play first and figure out the rest later?” he asked with a grin, giving her a playful nudge before jumping off.
He was careful not to run too far from her, as he felt she might lose he train of thought if he left her sight for too long. Plus, what good would it do if he made it impossible for her to catch him? There would be no game for her in that.

"What place?" She blinked, tilting her head. I wonder if they went to the beach, dropped a coconut on her head, she would draw out of this little memory lapse. But as of now, they would stay in the rogue lands. If...this was the rogue lands? She looked around. No other lions were here... Oh no! It was an abandoned prideland! There must be ghost here!
She gonked, forgetting about the game for a moment (or a while) and jumped behind the fluffy lion. "Can they see me?" Sehemu questioned. "There's no one else here, where are we?"
Oh wait, she looked to the sky, the sun slowly moving towards the horizon. It's not night yet! Spirits only come out at night! "Silly me." She giggled to herself, not realizing the other lion was here. Sehe gaze at him.
"Oh, hey Milo when did you get here?" The lioness still hadn't gotten his name right. She was getting closer though! And at least she remembered his face! It was the thought that count...
Other lions (and other species) had to be on their toes when around this dark lioness.
