Just finished Breaking Dawn. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed reading it. The series is fast-paced and easy to become immersed in.
When I read Twilight a few years ago, when it first came out, I wasn't reading it for the appreciation of literature so much as the fact that it was another vampire story, and I was in an akward emo-phase transition I'd rather not talk about...
I've never thought of S. Meyer as a particulary good writer, but she IS an amazing story teller.
I fell in love with the characters, epscially Bella, who I feel most of us can relate to. The series was refreshing to have the protagonist not be "perfect." (Many other vampire books have made that mistake)
MY DEEPER THOUGHTS ON THE MATTER. (contains refrences about Breaking Dawn. Do not read unless you've finished, or you really don't care.)
HIGHLIGHT BELOW.
I just felt that after the introduction of Renesmee She became so..In control and just like all the other Vampires.
I do like the fact that Bella got Pregnant. It offered a way to have this unconventional birth that forced Bella to be in a near-death situation, which I think is a better way for her to become a Vampire. Makes Edward feel slightly better, although...Technically it IS his fault she's preggers. oh well, nevermind.
I do like the fact that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee. A nice twist that ensures they'll all stay together.
That's also a problem for me. With the exception of Irina (and maybe a few lions and elk ^.^) , nobody died.
Stephanie Meyer makes all of her characters likeable, other than the obvious antagnonists. And the humans like Lauren, but she's human, you can't blame her.
Anyone else think maybe the puzzle pieces fit a little to well?
I mean even Rowling killed one of the twins.
An author's gotta do, what an author's gotta do.

Last Harry Potter is filled with death omg gonk I think it would have been more appropriate if she had killed both of the twins. That way the other one wouldn't have to suffer. I kinda wish she would have killed someone else off.[WHITE TEXT]She could have so easily killed off Alice

Yeah, I was expecting someone to die. 'Cause that's what always happens at the end of a series, right? I was crazy-nervous when I was reading the part when the Volturi was in the clearing. I thought for SURE there was gonna be an epic battle and maybe Jasper or Maggie was gonna die.

I loved Breaking Dawn. I loved loved loved it. I found parts of it unreal, however. Everything was perfect. Too perfect. I wanted to grieve a little bit. I was hoping someone special would die as a hero. Not Edward or Jacob or anything. Perhaps Sam, or Jasper? I don't know. I just felt like it was one huge fairytale. I feel so sad it's over though. The words, "Forever and Forever and Forever" are repeating in my head over and over again. They just linger there. I wanted to be a part of this fantasy perfect fairytale.

I loved it. At first I was like WTF ARE YOU DOING STEPHENIE. But I kept reading and realized that Bella having the baby was the key to tying everything together- it finished off Jacob's story in a way that makes me hate him way less, it brings the main conflict- the Volturi- back into the story, and since I'm a fan of babies, it was super cute 3nodding The best part for me was that NOBODY was expecting her to get pregnant. It was completly a surprise, and I love it. Overall, I think it was the perfect ending.
Oh, and I almost died when they had sex- first with Bella as a human, then as a vampire. Seriously, even though I wish it was more, well, not graphic but you know what I mean, SM did a good job keeping us fangirls having heart attacks while keeping it ok for younger readers.

The begining was really surreal and just....insane! I like the fact that it was unpredicatable...but it was just too way out there for me to handle!
The whole pregancy put me off...(I kept on thing about The Bride of Chucky, You know, giving birth do a demon who was apparently going to rip is was with its teeth! -shudders-)
I mean, I might have enjoyed it hadn't I known a bunch of 10-12 year olds read this...the faces of all those young girls at the midnight party were haunting me! I can just imagine there faces while the read the birthing scene!
But in whole, the book seemed so much more different then the others...Way too much happened at one...It was a giant leap away from Eclilpse... I dunno, I kind of felt like I was reading a fan fic, rather the novel I have been waiting for.
In short, I have to say I'm dissapointed, My hype is totally gone...and now I'm starting to doubt the movie, as if my standards wern't low enought as it is...
Any one else feel like this?
I just hope after I re-read it...it'll make more scence

I feel the exact same way!!![white text] Isn't it freaky that bella is able to focus so well as a newborn. I love renesmee. I can't believed i hated her while she was inside bella. I'm only like 3/4 done with the book and I'm surprised that the volturi haven't appeared yet. Oh wait. I forgot that they have a tendency to appear at the very end.

rowling killed a twin and everyone else in the book becuse she ran out of decent plotline. Stephenie did well, as far as i can see, for over 2000 pages, and deserves better than to have her name misspelled.

I was very disapointed. I really wanted some one to die. I was extremely pissed when Jacob imprinted on Renesmee and when he called her Nessie I was right there with Bella screaming which was bad because I got my book at midnight and started reading on the car ride home. Needless to say I was screaming at like four thirty in the morning. The sex in the book wasd to be expected. I knew Bella would get hurt and I knew that S. Meyer would skimp on the details. This is fine with me I think my imagination does a better job. In some parts I was rather disgusted too. I'm not the biggest fan on throwing up and Bella did this action quite a lot. I skipped some parts of the book that I will read over later when my stomach is prepared for it. I was also angry with Alice. She's is one of my favorite characters and I know she had to do what she had to do, but I was hoping she would have a larger part in the book. I have other comments but I don't exactly feel like typing much more so there are my in depth thoughts about the book.

I really really loved the book! The only thing i didn't like in the book was HIGHLIGHT >>> Charlie finding out that Jake was a werewolf and what not I really didn't like that she did that. I mean I thought it was a secret lol.

Finally there's people who don't keep *itching about the book!!! In the other post all anyone had to say was "I Hate this" "This is FAIL" "S. Meyer you did a bad job" "I've read better fanfics than this" blah blah blah... from the spoilers i read (and shouldn't have because i don't get my book for another two days) i though "I can't be THAT bad... can it?" I was really starting to believe that the book may not be as good as we all expected it to be, but thankfully it's not true There is absolutely no way that a book with Edward and Jacob can suck!
I mean if you think about it... isn't this kind of the same reaction we had with new moon? We hated that Edward left and most of didn't like the idea of Jake and Bella getting together and we desperately wanted Edward to return so we flipped through the pages to make sure that he was coming... right?
Ok so people don't like that Bella got pregnant but that answers the question of "can vampires have babies?" and it also leads to Bella's change from human to vampire... it makes us all happy, including Edward.
People also don't like that their baby's name is Renesmee but get over it, she's not your baby, she's edward and bella's baby. People also don't like that Jake imprints on B and E's baby... but the point of that was that Jake should get his happy ending too, cuz he deserves it.
Ok, so maybe i read a few too many spoilers (and i wish i hadn't) but it was oh so very hard to resist... and it's too late now biggrin Who cares, I'm going to read Breaking Dawn soo many times because, to me, anything with Edward and Jacob just can't be bad... "it's physically impossible"

I loved the book! and i liked it when SM wrote from Jake's POV, it was pretty funny reading that sometimes! anyways so yeah, i was expecting someone to die and all too, but i was relieved when that didn't happen and besides, to me, it would've been very predictable if someone main died. I almost thought that Alice was a gonner!! eek gosh! i started crying!! redface but i REALLY wouldn't have minded it if atleast one of the Volturi was killed! lol well yeah. And i kinda expected what happened to Bella to happen cuz of one of the quotes of the day on the website. the one where carlisle said the thing about vampire venom working miracles. that kinda gave it away to me so i was pretty sure that was gonna happen but i wasn't expecting anything after that to happen besides the Volturi coming. And i was cracking up when bella found out that jacob had imprinted on renesmee!! that was hilarious!! i'm extremely happy that she found a way to get Jacob and Edward to get along!! but i still can't think of jake as their son lol that was WEIRD! i mean, him and bella used to be in love and they had kissed!!... and for the moment i sorta lost my point but i thought BD was a great book over all!! 3nodding heart and sadly, i felt closure too sad

I just hope after I re-read it...it'll make more scence I agree I felt like i was reading some Fan-Fic. at the beginning. And then when she got preggers, I was like what the F is going on. But this book made me appreciate Jacob so much more and that says a lot since i was about to murder him in New Moon and Eclipse. I'm half/half with the whole Team Edward/Team Jacob thing now. The book started to improve once it switched to Jacob's POV. But I think it would have been better with an epic battle at the end, I wanted them to fight it out, but noooooo The Volturi (sp) are big chickens and don't want a somewhat even fight. After the amazing show she put on with 'The Host' i had high expectations for this book and her, but she just majorly lowered them. I still love her as a author but am thoughly disappointed in this book. I'm going to re-read and hope to have my mind change but highly doubt it

What is wrong with some of you? Why on earth would you want somebody to die? Besides most people in the book are already dead!

Sapphire Waterlilly What is wrong with some of you? Why on earth would you want somebody to die? Besides most people in the book are already dead!Whoa, whoa, whoa, now. Who died? Let's see, the antagonists died and, oh yeah, an extremely minor character named Irina died. And people who were dead before the series can't count since it was relevant to the series's plot. I wanted some scarifices and if that meant a death, than I would have welcomed it. Nothing was sacrificed at all.
