Today at the morning at the bus stop while I was waiting for the bus to my school I started thinking. I was just waiting for something to happen - waiting for something big, something that will suddenly make my life more exiting and dangerous. Or else I was just gonna wait for the school day to end till I graduate.

Then I thought that I should purposley get on the wrong bus, I wouldn't know where I was going, not know how I was gonna get back, all I knew was to go. I saw a bus leading the whole opposite direction stop off and my mind started racing "Should I go? What would happen when I went back to school?" Finally I thought "Don't think, just go." And went on the bus because I knew if I just didn't take a risk and went to school I'd regret it.

Things pretty much got more boring than I thought from there. The bus was just going straight so I'd know the way back home easily. I needed somewhere close enough to walk back that wouldn't take, y'know, extremely long like four hours 'cause I didn't know how to get back by bus. I stopped at a theme park. I would go in but I doubted I had enough money (only ten bucks) and they probably wouldn't let me in by myself. I look like a ******** ten year old.

So I just walked down the road which had various stores on it, just waiting for something to happen. Nothing did. I was kinda disappointed, I knew if I had waited on the bus longer it would've tooken me to a more exiting place that I probably hadn't seen before. So, I didn't really do anything except get a few sodas and a soup from subway, and walked around, just thinking for a couple hours - I'm still kinda sad that I didn't wait on the bus longer because than I would've got to do something more exiting.

But, I still don't regret skipping school. All I know is that I did something different, something that held more exitment than school. Maybe in a few weeks I'll get on the wrong bus and stay on it till the end of the line. I'm still trying to find out a way to get out of this mess at school, maybe I could practice writing like my parents and write a fake note saying I was sick? I need an excuse as to why I didn't go to school. Anyway, I, I dunno, I just don't know how I should completely fufill my need for exitment. And what I'm going to do about school.

I'd have to agree, skipping school isn't smart and will only make you fall behind in class. It looks bad on your school record, and your parents might get mad if they find out from the school that you've been skipping class.

Maybe try something new if you're looking for some excitement. I mean, take up a new sport or hobby. Join a school club, make some new friends and go hang out with them. And so on and so on. smile

I'm going to pontificate for a minute and this does not necessarily respond to you particularly.

People often wonder why some people do stupid likes like bungee jump, walk in the middle of traffic with thier eyes closed, etc and the truth is that most of the time, he or she is bored. This sympton can be dangerous. Why? This is often when peopel turn to things like drugs or put themselves in dangerous situations in order to feel the rush of excitement. Even rapists and murderers, to some degree, act as such for the excitement of the kill or ravaging.

One of the ways to combat this syndrome, as it has been referred to in the past, are hobbies, clubs, or sports. Get involved. Since you're still going to school, try out for a team there or join a club. If nothing at your school interests you, look for clubs or teams in your community. Even the internet is a source. Maybe you search around and you find out that Archery appeals to you and so you get into it and then you participate in tournaments.

Basically, you have to figure out what what interests you... usually by trail and error.

As for school, I can tell you two things. 1) you can't get anywhere quick without at least a high school education. 2) if you leave it now, you will lose a lot of things. You won't be able to keep up with your friends intellectually and you will feel worthless at some point (for example, my friend has started to feel like that and she's been a drop out for 2 years.).

To "wait" for something exciting to happen to you is to "Wait" for ever.
You must do things, to make things happen.
Staying in school and getting an education, leads to university, which leads to a real life, where you can Make things happen, and have an exciting life.

They say the worst curse to place on someone is

"May you have an exciting life."

and the best blessing you can give is

"May your days be uneventful and filled with joy."

Think about it hard enough and you just might understand it.

I for one thank The God in Heaven that my days are uneventful, because when they get exciting, I get scared.

Fess up about what you did and life will get much more exciting very quickly I promise! Face it you were bored and you did something not very smart.

Ok so you want something exciting in your life. Guess what? We all do! We all get bored. We all wish we could run away or what ever. But you know what? We don't. You know why? RESPONSIBILITIES. You were being irresponsible so fess up, deal with it, learn from it and move on.

I can only tell you how often I have felt the way you do. I am currently in college and I still feel that yearn. I just want something more exciting with life than books and teachers yapping for three hours. I bet you are one of those people who just want to slam their head on the desk. Not out of fustration or not because you can't understand the class.. but just out of pure boredom.

I am sure you weren't thinking about dropping out, because I am sure you would have said something. I won't lecture you there.

Find a hobby, something you find passion in. Whether it be a sport, art or something extremely simp and then persue your passion. Don't settle for something just because it's easy. Find yourself a challenge. Challenges should keep your interest.

Don't skip school! My mom skipped school once, then it turned into twice, and then she eventually kept skipping & skipping untill she stopped going altogether & dropped out of the 10th grade. She doesn't have the time to go back now,and wound up missing out on prom & going to college. A good education prepares you for the future. You did say that you wanted your life to be interesting,& that's the only way it's going to happen. So only let that day be your first & only time, and go on to graduate. Don't make my mom's mistakes.

Well, you skipped school once. I can't yell at you since I have purposely skipped some of my college classes before. Well, I had to go to ER, but still. Anyway, just don't get in the habit of skipping. Once you start, it is very hard to make yourself go back to school.

Well nothing exciting is going to happen if you just 'wait'. Get out there! Do some hand's on things! Make new friends, plan a trip! Build something! You can't always wait for things...paitence is a good thing (though I don't have any ><) but sometimes you just have to speed things up a bit.

eh.... my advice: dont skip whole days. a class every now and again is fine but missing a whole day of school can really set you back. your story really reminds me of catcher in the rye for some reason...i donno...good book. and if you want life to be more exciting then go out and put your self in new situations. your bound to meet and interact with new people and so on. just go out and live life dont wait around for it to come to you.

During 7th grade I was heavily depressed, I am not as depressed as I was then, but I got in the awful habit of skipping school. Not just one day every so often, but everyday for around 3 months. My junior high finally got fed up with it and sent me to go to this theraputic school ten minutes away. Although I am back at my normal school system now, I have to say, you do it once, you start realizing how much more fun it is than school is. Make sure not to do it too often, because you never know if it will become a habit thats hard to break.
