Well, ladies and gentlemen, I'm about to leave for my first proper audition. There are to be talent agents from Disney and Nickolodeon (sp?) which, while not exactly high-class, do offer the possibility of getting work.
It's pretty much a cattle-call, with ages four to twenty-one attending, so naught will really come of it, but at least it will be experience.
I'm leaving in a few minutes, and doing my best not to be terrified.

Good Luck, my love. Remember...Disney isn't all bad. He brought us the death of orange groves and the resurection of frozen heads.
When working for Uncle Walt and Company it is important to SMILE, cover your tats, shave off any facial hair and (if possible) claim that Julie Andrews is your aunt on your mother's side.
Vasiline on your teeth helps you keep smiling. No lie. Keeps your lips from drying out and sticking to the Crest residue. Arrowroot on your palms gives you a dry handshake, and keep in mind that you don't actually need them. That takes away the look of frantic terror.

Haha, thank you both.
Pity, but I got bait-and-switched. They said it was for these agents, but it turned out that the agents were just helping out. It turned out to be an audition for the 'privilege' to pay a modeling school $3,000 to teach us how to have our photo taken. They called back, which made things extremely awkward.
Thank you for the hint about the arrowroot, though, I'll remember that in future.

That was really low, but you can chalk it up as experience and keep going. I hope you keep posting about more auditions. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
