Ok, you know how none of the vampire's powers works on Bella? Ex. Edward and the vultorri. Well, how come Alice and Jasper's powers work on her? Isnt it very strange?

Maybe its because Alice's and Jasper's powers can help her? And cant hurt her...?
But in that case, wouldnt Edward's power work? Mind-reading couldnt hurt anyone....

easy, its all in sm's website. Alice and Jasper's power works on Bella through outside, physically. Alice see what happen as a result. But Edward's and the Voulturi's have power that affect a person from the inside. Bella likes to keep her mind close. Her mind is more secretive so Edward and the Voulturi failed to reach in to her mind.

OKAY FOR ALL THOSE WHO HATE SPOILERS READ THE GOD D*** BOOK!
okay we all know that edwards power is 2 read minds right? duh...
THE VOLTURI!
now thats almost another story. when bella turned into a vampire? yeah. she was still able 2 be somewhat affected by jane EVEN WITH THE SHIELD put up... and her little friend...... oh god whats his name.... the little boy in short unleashed a mist in order 2 swiftly kill them... SHE FELT IT PRESSING AGAINST HER SHIELD! SHE CAN BE SOMEWHAT AFFECTED BY THEM WHEN SHE DOESNT HAVE HER SHIELD UP! read it carefully...
ALice can c anyones future as long as they dont keep changing their minds rapidly like the newborns and victoria did when they were trying 2 fight them off.
Jasper has the power of influence....right? yeah i think so... He can affect anyone sort of like ALice's... he can calm a crowd of people so he was actually able 2 subtly change bellas emotions...
rosalie doesnt have a power does she.....
emmett is pretty much a big bulky muscle man.... AWESOME! >w<
edward speaks for himself...

Isnt it very strange? its something to do with how edwars and aro have mind related powers. bella cant protect physically, like jasper and alice arent entering her mind. jane is putting fake thoughts in there, and edward is listening to her thoughts. so its like she can only protect against mind/internal things that affect her.

Whited out in case someone thinks I need to be banned for saying this highlight for BD spoilers Theory I think has some very solid grounding: she can feel it and be effected but they will not work to the extent of incapacicating her or hurting her too bad because Jane couldn't hurt her as a human I have a feeling the only reason she truly felt Jane and Alec (the boy's namy by the way) is because her shield was out... remember at the very end of the book she realises the only reason she couldn't project earlier was because of subconcious self preservation? but when she expanded her shield the power she lost some of her self preservation so (analogy here sorry it is the best I can come up with) without her full suit of armor she could feel more damage but if she has the whole suit on without loaning parts of it to others she can't be harmed. The answer is simply that Bella blocks powers that mess with people's heads but her body and emotions are fair game.

Edward, Aro, Jane, and Alec all have powers which work WITHIN the mind, whereas Alice and Jasper's powers don't. I think that this was explained in either New Moon or Eclipse, it was Alice who hypothesized the reasons for it.
