Female Characters  StorylineThe night was cold and eerie; two girls walked home from the movies laughing and talking wildly with excitement. The girls were identical in nature, in fact they were just identical, period. They of course, were twins, if you couldn't figure that one out on your own.
These beautiful twins were unaware that they were being followed by something sinister. As they rounded the corner that turned onto a deserted street, the slightly elder twin was filled with a feeling of dread and urged the other to take the long way home, though which path taken would not have mattered. As it was, the slightly younger told her to quit worrying and relax.
About halfway down the street, a noise from the other side of the street startled them and they stopped momentarily. An outline of a sinisiter figure appeared in the dark and the girls were briefly paralyzed with fear until the older twin tugged on her sister's arm and they took off at a run.
A maniacal laugh caused shivers of terror to freeze their spines as they ran. When they rounded the corner once more they stopped dead to see the figure in front of them. As it stepped towards them it smirked and they stopped to stare in awe.
He was beautiful and he seemed to shimmer slightly in the streetlight. His eyes were an alarming red and his face was white as snow with deep purple lines etched beneath his eyes. His body, covered only in jeans, shoes, and an open jacket, was like chiseled marble. The elder twin stared in horror as the younger gasped in surprise.
He murmured something about filling his apetite and was upon them. The elder girl saw what he was doing just in time and jumped in front of the younger one. A terrifying, blood-curdling scream erupted from the younger girl's throat as she fell to the side. As she fell, she saw the monster bite her sister's neck and then all was dark as her head connected with the ground.
The vampire, finished with the elder sister, approached the unconcious younger one lying haphazardly upon the ground. As he bent down to touch her, he was suddenly sent sprawling backwards as though someone had hit him with an invisible force.
Snarling he looked around but saw nor heard anything that could do that. He tried once more but recieved the same reaction. Then, he could hear sirens approaching in the distance and grabbed the girl. He dissappeared into the night with the body.
When the younger girl woke up, she was in a hospital bed. Her mother was sitting beside her; dark circles lay under her puffy eyes to infer that she'd been up all night crying.
"Mom..." The girl's voice was hoarse as she reached out to her mother. The woman woke with a start and was instantly at her daughter's side. The girl looked around for her sister and she became alarmed, "Mom where am I? Where's Bells!?" She cried.
The woman broke down into sobs and she clutched her daughter to her chest. "My baby girl," She cried, "My baby, my baby." She kept repeating herself over and over and the girl couldn't get anything else out of her mother.
Two weeks passed and she was told that her sister was abducted and probably dead from the amount of blood that had been spilled on the pavement.
But she knew what had happened and she tried to tell them about the man who acted like a vampire and bit her sister. In fact, now she was sure that he was a vampire and had turned her sister into one of them. But no one had listened, the doctors said it was her way of dealing with the trauma and that she would eventually get over it.
They were wrong, she didn't get over it, she just stopped telling them what she knew was right. She pretended to get better and she did, for a year; a whole year.
She was fine until she saw the man one night while looking out of her window. He was standing just beneath her ledge and Bella was there. Her sister, looking just as deathly pale with dark circles under her blood red eyes, was clutching to the man and smirking darkly up at her. "Anna," she called. "Happy birthday Anna." A dark laugh followed and the man smirked, "You're next."
Anna blinked and they were gone. She ran to her mother and tried to explain, tried to have her understand what she just saw. But her mother would have none of it. When Anna didn't give up, she bought a one way plane ticket to Forks, Washington and put Anna on a plane.
Anna vowed that she would destroy the monster that destroyed her and prove to her mother she was not lying. She would bide her time and find a way to kill the vampire; even if it killed her she would get her revenge!

Edward Cullen has never been interested in any girl that lived in Forks, Washington. He was just living out his high school career; again. You see, Edward Cullen has been 17 for a quite a while now. In fact, all the members of the Cullen family-Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, Rosalie Hale, Jasper Hale, and Alice-have all been their age for almost a century.
They are not only one of the largest vampire covens, but the only coven that does not feed on humans.
They also tend to stay within their own circle and do not make friends; it's not good for the humans to befriend them because they could find out and possibly be harmed.
Edward has had no problem with this at all, he's been perfectly content to remain alone with his adopted siblings and just pretend to be a loner. But everything changes when Cheif Swan's, remaining, daughter comes to live with him and attends Edward's high school.
He finds himself drawn to her like no other female. He must resist the urge to taste her blood, to possess her; because he just might kill her and he cannot do that.
Each day it gets harder and harder to stay away from her; especially since they live in a small town. Finally, he can stand it no more and decideds that being friends cannot hurt. His family isn't too thrilled and for good reason.
Anna wants nothing to do with Edward, he wants to possess her entire being, and another vampire wants to make her his.
What will happen to Anna when she discovers that she is irrevocably in love with a boy she cannot stand and is being hunted by both her vampire sister and her sister's killer?
She will have to accept things she cannot and he will have to learn the ultimate control because for there is no world without the other.

Edward Cullen is charming, polite, determined, very stubborn, and quite old-fashioned. He often over-analyzes situations and has a tendency to overreact, especially when it comes to Anna's safety. He can also be very romantic. He is usually quiet and more of a loner than anything else. Once you get to know him, he opens up though he's not always honest. He would rather keep someone else safe and have them be happy because he has forever to try and be happy. He doesn't hate being a vampire but he doesn't like it either.
He is also very, very protective and sometimes posseive of Anna. He's really never been interested in making friends because he's tired of having to watch them die or hate him because he disappears without a trace. Edward is also musical, able to play the piano like a virtuoso. He enjoys a wide range of music, including classical, jazz, progressive metal, alternative rock, punk rock, but dislikes country. He prefers indie rock to mainstream, and appreciates rock and classical music equally. He likes music from the fifties better than the sixties, and dislikes the seventies entirely.
A hobby of Edward's is collecting cars. He owns a Volvo S60 R and an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish as a "special occasion" car. He also gave his sister Alice a Porsche 911 Turbo as a gift.
Bio:
Edward Cullen was born in 1884 and became a vampire in 1901 at the age of 17. This was a time when the influenza epidemic occured and many people died because there was just not enough medicine. Carlisle Cullen, a vampiric doctor that didn't need human blood (he preferred animal blood), knew that Edward was dying and promised his mother he would take care of Edward. She died shortly after he made his promise. Edward was the first person Carlisle turned and he adopted him. Carlisle taught Edward that killing a human was wrong and how to keep from exposing himself. Edward has only killed a few humans by mistake and calls himself a vegetarian because he doesn't eat humans.
Edward live through the nineteen hundreds and is very old-fashioned because of it. He still believes that women shouldn't ask men out and buys gifts for girls. He has a lot of money so these gifts tend to be quite extravagant. He has two adopted vampire brothers, two adopted vampire sisters, and one vampire mother. Edward is much older than all those in the Cullen clan except for Carlisle-who is the eldest of them all. Though Edward was 'born' before Esme, she has always seen him as her son.

Andreas is used to getting what he wants when he wants it and will do anything to have it. When he does find or obtain something he wants, he is very possesive and will hurt anything (including said possession) to have it.
He is selfish and self-centered though there is a bit of suave kindness laced within his being, hard as it may be to find. He holds no qualms over killing a human but has learned restraint and will not let the humans discover what he really it. He is more primal than anything and loves to gloat and brag. He is cunning and intelligent as well as breath-takingly handsome. His temper is so hot that the tiniest thing can set him off though he would rather plot revenge than just attack. His is a quiet anger that explodes dangerously when provoked. He is more sinister than anything as well as alluring.
Bio:
Andreas was born the sun of a Pharoah around 300 A. D. He grew up as a warrior and though he earned everything he recieved in battle, he was a spoiled brat.
He is one of the first vampires that were ever created though he is not sure how he was turned or by whom. All he remembers of that day was a great battle and a woman more beautiful than the likes of anything he'd seen in his life.
His earliest memories as a vampire are of pain and fury as he tore apart any who were near him. After surviving the first three days of his turning, he realized the raw power he possessed and sought to rule the world as many great men of that period did.
Alexander the Great was one of the first men to be destroyed in Andreas' quest for world domination along with Napoleon at Waterloo. It did not matter to him how long it took or who he had to kill to get his way. It didn't matter, that is, until one day he was wandering around slaughtering villages and came upon simple farm in the middle of nowhere. Andreas was adamant to have his way with the famer's wife and was amused when the man stood up to him and did not cower away under Andreas' cruel stare. Even in death the man did not give in and fought to save his wife till his very breath. When Andreas was about to finish him off, the woman threw herself over her husband and shielded his dying body with her own.
Loathe he is to admit it, Andreas respected the man and his wife and for once, left a survivor. The woman, terrified out of her mind, soon went mad and killed herself to join her husband, but the hard truth finally hit Andreas; he did not have someone who would love and stay loyal to him.
No, Andreas did not change in the slightest; not really. Instead of just killing for the hell of it, he began to search for a mate and thought none were what he truly desired, he took a woman to his side every now and then but she always betrayed him because no one could truly love him.
Anna was different, he could remember passing her on a rare rainy day in Phoenix. She showed a great compassion to an old and decrepit human male by offering him food and money; the last she had for the day. She intrigued Andreas and so he followed her and her twin for over a year. Through discovery he found the twins were closer than any two people he'd ever seen and he wanted them for himself.
He tried to get them both but the elder twin sacrificed herself for the younger and he could not get to his 'prized goddess,' as he would often call Anna.

As a human, Carlisle was described as being "intelligent, loving and compassionate", traits he carried on to his vampire life. He was also persistent and intelligent enough to track down humanoid creatures such as witches and vampires. His compassion led him to become a doctor, which in turn led him to developing a nearly perfect immunity to the scent of human blood. His strong ability to love is seen in his affection towards Esme, his wife, Edward, Alice, Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper, his adopted children.
Bio:
Carlisle Cullen was the son of an Anglican pastor, born in 1640s London, England during a time of religious upheaval. Carlisle's father and other pastors led hunts for werewolves, witches, and vampires, saying that they were attempting to rid the world of evil and sin, but many a time, these groups would end up killing innocent citizens, mistaking them for actual vampires, werewolves, etc. As his father aged, Carlisle was put in charge of the raids for these creatures. He was less at ease about killing and more logical and patient in making accusations than his father was, and was intelligent enough to find a real coven of vampires inhabiting the sewers of London. At the age of twenty-three, Carlisle led the hunt for these vampires and in the chaos that ensued he was attacked and left bleeding in the street by a vampire. Knowing that he would not be welcomed back home and would be most likely killed, Carlisle hid himself in a potato cellar, managing to stay silent for the entire three-day duration of his incredibly painful transformation, and emerged afterwards as a vampire.
Carlisle was repulsed and horrified by what he had become, and tried various ways of killing himself, including starvation, drowning, and jumping off cliffs. None worked due to the immense strength and power a newborn vampire possesses. Eventually he was so desperate for blood that while he was hiding in a cave in a forest he attacked and fed on a herd of passing deer. He found that he could survive off animal blood and he considered this much more humane than drinking the blood of humans. Carlisle found new life in this fact and for over two centuries was able to perfect his ability to resist the blood lust caused by the scent of human blood. During these two centuries Carlisle studied books at night, using his knowledge at daytime. As a result of his meticulous studying, Carlisle was able to become a brilliant doctor. In this new career, Carlisle found the means to atone for his previous sins by saving human lives instead of taking them.
Carlisle was studying in Italy when he stumbled across a coven of ancient vampires called the Volturi, also known as 'nighttime patrons of the arts', that included three vampires named Aro, Marcus, and Caius. They were much more educated and refined vampires than those living in the sewers of London, but still drank human blood. Even though they attempted to convert Carlisle back to his natural food source and he, in turn, tried to convince them to turn to animal blood instead of human blood, both failed to convince the other. Carlisle then moved on to the New World where he ended up working in Chicago during the Spanish Influenza pandemic, taking the much detested night shifts as he felt guilty going home and pretending to sleep while there were lives to be saved and work to be done. During this epidemic, Carlisle encountered a dying mother named Elizabeth Masen. Her son, Edward, was dying of the Influenza as well. Elizabeth begged Carlisle to do anything within his power to save her son, as she lay dying. Carlisle later suspected that her request was born both from a desire to save her son's life and from the suspicion that Carlisle had means of helping Edward that no one else possessed. Out of loneliness, and with the knowledge that Edward was alone in the world, he changed him into a vampire and Edward became his companion. Soon after, in 1921, Carlisle moved to Wisconsin where he treated Esme, after a failed suicide attempt brought on by the loss of her child. Carlisle felt compelled to save her life and turned her, consequently falling in love with her, and marrying her later on.
Carlisle then turned Rosalie Hale, a young woman who was almost killed by her drunken fiancé and his friends, who raped her and left her in the street to die. Later, while hunting, Rosalie found a young man named Emmett who had been mauled by a bear. She carried him over 100 miles to Carlisle. Carlisle then changed Emmett, since Rosalie was unwilling to do it herself for fear of accidentally draining him, who later became Rosalie's soulmate. After Carlisle changed Emmett, Carlisle and his family moved to Forks, Washington where they made a treaty with the Quileute Indian tribe, that the Quileutes would leave the Cullens alone if the Cullens did not bite any humans or trespass on their land. The Cullens agreed to this treaty, and lived in relative peace until they had to move on.
Between the Cullens' first and second stay in Forks, Alice and Jasper joined his coven as well, having found Carlisle on their own. Alice and Jasper also became soulmates.

Emmett can be described as "a big, scary teddy bear." He has a cheerful disposition and is described as having a "big, booming laugh". He is also described as having the most physical strength out of all the Cullens, and he often enjoys this advantage. He jokes around a lot and is portrayed as being "boyish and boisterous", but he loves Rosalie, (eventually Anna) and the Cullens with all his heart and is described as "the protector of the family."
Bio:
Emmett Dale McCarty was the youngest in a large family with Scotch-Irish ancestry. He was 20 and living in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 1935 when he was mauled by a bear. The injuries from the attack were severe and he was found by Rosalie Hale who was hunting in the area at the time. Rosalie carried him over a hundred miles to Appalachia where Carlisle Cullen was, asking him to spare Emmett's life by turning him into a vampire. Emmett described the experience as being saved by an angel who brought him to God, saying that "Hell's not so bad if you get to keep an angel with you." Rosalie has stated that she saved Emmett because his innocent appearance reminded her of her friend's child, Henry.
Emmett took the news of becoming a vampire in stride, saying, "if Carlisle and Rosalie, my angel, were vampires, how bad could it be?" He did, however, have trouble adjusting to the Cullen family diet at first. His adopted brother Edward has mentioned that Emmett has "fallen off the wagon" before.

Personality:
Jasper could be mistaken for cold because of his highly analytical and military mindset. However, his relationship with Alice displays his warmer side. The fact that he suffered depression after his years in Maria's service suggests a strong sense of conscience and grief over his perceived wrong-doings. When he was human he was described as being extremely charismatic, and therefore very likable. He has also been shown to be a strong and forceful leader through his rapid ascent through the ranks of the Confederate Army. The fact that he is always a soothing presence shows that he wishes others to feel well and at ease, and will do his best to make that occur. Jasper is highly intuitive but also never takes advantage of his miraculous gift, showing that he is not malicious and chooses not to manipulate others.
Bio:
Jasper Hale, formerly known as Jasper Whitlock, was born in 1843 and grew up in Houston, Texas. In 1860 when he was almost seventeen, he lied about his age, stating he was 20, and joined the Confederate States Army to serve in the Civil War. Due to his intense charisma, he quickly rose through the ranks and became the youngest Major in Texas, even without considering his real age.
Jasper was turned into a vampire in 1863 by a vampire named Maria, when he was 20 years old. Maria was fighting a territorial war for claim on big cities in the south, such as Mexico City. Maria recognized that Jasper was high-ranking in the army, and therefore already had some knowledge of combat skills. She wanted a strong male vampire who could fight alongside her. When Maria found out about his peculiar ability to control the emotions of those around him, she found him even more useful.
Jasper's responsibility was to train the young vampires and then kill them when they were no longer useful to Maria, usually after about a year when their strength had begun to fade. After about a century of this, he grew weary of the lifestyle. An old vampire colleague of his, named Peter, persuaded him to escape from Maria. For a time, he wandered with Peter and his companion, Charlotte, but soon came to feel remorse for his prey because he experienced their emotions as he took their lives. As a result, he ran away and wandered on his own until he found Alice Cullen, whom he later recognized as his true love, waiting for him in a half-empty diner in Philadelphia. She had seen through her prescience they would find the Cullens and live there together in relative peace. Jasper quotes that this was the first time in a century that he 'felt hope'.
The Cullens tell humans that Jasper is Rosalie's twin brother; for this purpose, they both use Rosalie's surname of "Hale". Out of the whole coven, Jasper has the hardest time being around humans, due to his untrained upbringing as a young vampire in an army environment. He was not taught control or how to regulate his blood lust. Edward states that all human blood is equally tempting to Jasper, unlike the rest of the family, who can notice the variations in blood scent in different humans.
