Arcana sighed as she walked along alone. She was usually with Aether but today she just felt like being alone. Her tarot had said something or someone was coming but those self-readings were almost always unreliable. Nothing had happened so far...

His heart began to beat slowly as he laid buried deep within the earth. It was late afternoon, almost evening, and the sun was beginning to set. He knew he should wait, that his skin was becoming too sensitive to venture out into the light of day. A sure sign that I'm close... he thought to himself. There was no bitterness to his thoughts, his emotions had faded faster than he'd thought possible...a fact he'd managed to hide from his brothers by simply avoiding them...
But he couldn't think about that now, something was urging him to rise, a force he couldn't explain...and couldn't ignore. Sorin appeared a few minuets later on the surface, trying to stay out of the light as he walked drawn by this unexpected force...

Good thing she was paying somewhat attention to where she was going.. otherwise she would have walked right into a male who looked rather... dazed? No that wasn't right. "Umm excuse me... are you alright?" She glanced at him with concern.

Sorin blinked for a moment, stunned that he had not detected the female before she had stumbled on him. You're getting sloppy, he scolded himself before addressing her. "I am fine..." he said slowly as he noticed something amazing had happened. He was seeing in color. For the first time in far too long, and it wasn't just the dim shades that had passed for colors since he'd reached adulthood. No, there were bright intense, almost painfully so! But how had this happened? He took a closer look at the female, noticing the vivid blue of her coat and the brilliant violet of her hair and eyes. "Who are you?"

She raised an eyebrow at the quick change but shrugged and smiled "Arcana. And you are?" He was a strange guy.. but then again so far he was more normal than Aether and Cardamon. Her brothers weren't exactly fine examples of male normalcy.

"Arcana..." he repeated slowly, still very aware of the bright colors around him, hers being the most brilliant of all. Could she be the cause of all this? he wondered in his mind. If so that would make her...
"It is a great pleasure to me you Arcana," he said smiling genuinely for the first time in a very long while. "I am Sorin."

"Nice to meet you too Sorin. Well at least you look a little better now... you looked quite bad before. Though I'm not sure how to describe it... drained maybe?" She shrugged... wondering if HE was what her reading had been referring to. He was certainly different.

"I've been a little lacking in my own care," he found himself admitting. The truth was he hadn't fed recently, always worried that he'd let the darkness take him in a moment of weakness. But if this woman really was...a lifemate - more importantly his lifemate...

She frowned "You shouldn't do that. Maybe if you care for yourself more it will lift your spirits?" She didn't know why she cared.. but she always went with her instincts and right now they were screaming he was important in some way.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt," he said quietly, strangely touched by her small expression of concern. "Speaking of caring for oneself, I must wonder what a young woman like yourself is doing wondering these lands alone. Where are your protectors?"

"... Protectors? Why would I need any?" He really was an odd one. Did she look like some weakling?
