Riima followed Roe all the way here. "I'm kinda nervous, I don't like water all the much." She told the older fox.

"There's no need to be frightened of such things as water!" Monroe said, "After all, without water we wouldn't survive." They had reached the water now and Roe sat down to admire its shimmer. It looked quite glorious indeed, with the sun's rays reflecting off of the clear surface. "See, nothing to be afraid of!"

Riima gulped, "I guess not. How do I do this then?" She asked, still wary.

"Well..." Her stomach reminded her that they were there to eat, not to admire the view and she leaped into a standing position. She neared the water and then waded in until the water reached just above her paws. Monroe looked over her shoulder to see Riima back where they were standing before, "Come along, then!" She called in a hushed voice, keeping her peripheral vision on the shimmering silver scales drawing circles in the water.

"So.." Riima stalled "it's an absolute must to get into the water?"

"Since you're so uneasy about water, would you like me to catch you some lunch? Pehaps we can attune you to the water after our meal, no?" She kept her voice low and soft in fear of losing their meal.

Feeling hot under her fur Riima replied, "thank you. This is hard for me..."

Monroe smiled warmly, "It's no problem at all!" And turned her full attention to the fish. She did notice their glimmer but hadn't paid attention to how numerous they were. This was going to be a splendid meal!
Roe focused on one particularly big fish and squinted her eyes against the sun, which was directly in her eyes now. The fish made two huge loops in the water and when it was coming towards her for the close of the third one, Monroe swiped her paw, claws reaching for the glistening scales and... Success! Her glaws dug into the fish's gills and she flung it towards the shore where it landed, squirming, next to Riima.

Riima saw the fish fly at her a skirted out of the way. "What now?" She asked, trying to be brave.

"Just wait right there, it'll settle down eventually! I'll try to catch a few more 'fore they're all gone!" Monroe called back to Riima and turned back to the now frantic fish, 'Well then... This complicates things...' She aimed for yet another plentiful fish and missed it by a bit, toppling entirely into the water. She opened her eyes while under, even though it stung, and looked at the blurry sparkles trying to escape. In a desperate rush, she lunged at a spot where quite a few fish seemed to be gathered, opened her mouth and bit down hard. She was relieved to find the pleasant taste of fish seeping into her mouth and jolted to the surface. She wasn't too far away from shore, and she could make out the mint colored kit sitting by the shore so she swam back, catch secure in her mouth.

Riima backed away from the fish by a few inches and watched the elder fox paddle back to shore with another fish. "Good job!" She called to Roe.

"Thmmks!" Roe exclaimed, the fish in her mouth muffling her speech. When she finally waded out of the water and trudged back to where Riima was, she set her fish down next to the first, slightly bigger one. Monroe beamed down at Riima, "Quite a nice catch, if I do say so myself!" The bigger fish has settled down by now and both of them lay motionless inbetween the two foxes. She pushed the bigger one towards Riima with her paw, "Eat up!"

"Oh, you can have the bigger one!" Riima said startled. "You are bigger after all." Instead of waiting for a reply she pushed the larger back to Roe and took the small for herself.

"If you say so!" Monroe said, smiling, and settled down with the big fish. She took a first considerable bite. After swallowing, her smile grew bigger, "These are really good! We were in luck!" If she could eat excellent fish like these every day, she'd happily give up her breakfasts.

"I know," she mumbled through a mouthful of fish. "So, Roe, did you find a den yet?" Riima asked, curious.
