: 8/01/08 :

User Image It was recently announced that Tony Stewart will be driving the number 14 Chevrolet with part time ownership with Stewart-Haas Racing (previously Haas CNC Racing) shortly after announcing that he will be departing with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2009 after a 10-year relationship with JGR-one of the longest relationships in the Sprint Cup garage today. One of the bigest news highlights that everyone is talking about is Stewart switching back to Chevrolet after one year with Toyota. Stewart also has a long relationship and bonding with Chevrolet.

It is also possible that Ryan Newman, driver of the number 12 'Alltel' Penske Racing Dodge, will join newly-named Stewart-Haas Racing to drive the number 39 Chevy for Tony Stewart. Newman announced recently that he will be leaving Penske Racing in 2009.

'Office Depot' and 'Old Spice' will serve as Stewart's two rotating primary sponsers, such as Dale Jr.'s deal with 'AMP Energy Drink' and 'National Guard'.

And what is the future for JGR looking like? Is it dull and bleak without Joe Gibbs's main star, or is it just a mere step in the organization?Well, future star Joey Logano is the main candidate for the number 20 'Home Depot' Toyota. Although does Logano lack experience in NASCAR's three main series? If Logano does move to the Sprint Cup series, he will have moved from part-time Nationwide series driver to full-time Cup series driver.

WRITER'S NOTE: 8/26/08 : It was confirmed that Newman WILL drive for Stewart-haas Racing in '09- and Joey Logano will officially replace Stewart in JGR's #20 Camry.

...well do you know how long it took me to write this today?

This news came out 2 weeks ago. I'm a Stewart fan, anything that came out was on here by me the same day.

JGR will be perfectly fine, all things considered, he is overall doing the worst right now. They have Kyle and Denny to keep things going great. Joey Logano will take it another step because watching Kyle and Joey battling for a win will be a good show.

Eh now there are rumors that Newman is getting a little hesitant going to an organization with only one car in the top 35 ... However if Scott can remain in the top 35 for more than one week , he may just end up in the 4. But lets be honest with ourselves here... Newman won't be shattering any new records in this ride..

Yes, and if one car gets in then those points go to Newman cause Stewart has his champions provisionals to use if needed. Scott Riggs could get in and if he does, maybe he might stay in the car. I like Riggs.

i like newman better, but i don't see tony winning any more than ten more races until he retires driving with his new team. he won't be bad, look what bobby labonte did for petty, but i think tony won't be exactly the same.

Tony will be better at least after the first year with Haas. I only see him racing maybe another 5 to 10 years. I see him getting between 15 and 25 wins with his new team, oh yeah and he will win another championship.

Seeing Kyle Busch and Joey Logano racing would be awesome, 2 drivers that don't back down and have tremendous talent.

Lol well at least your thinking posistive xd . Mean while in the real world. I give Tony 4-7 years... no championship( You have to remeber even he said he only plans to go as long as he has a shot at the Daytona 500) . I give him 7-12 wins with his team. He won't be a major factor next year until the halfway point next year. He will in fact need to take those pills he took back in 05 ( Never could figure out why he stopped stare ) if he wants a chance. Also his entire season rides on his next chief... Don't forget Both of Gibbs Nationwide team's crew chiefs said they don't know how Zippy does it week in and out. sweatdrop I see a 50% chance of him swaping crew chief 10-12 races in next year. Now in 2010 I suspect him to do some good along with Newman. They just have to jump the first hurdle.

They do have to jump a hurdle, but if you look at it right, they already have winning cars and engines. They just never had great drivers that were capable of having the chance to win multiple races each year. They get one shot, maybe, and they blow it.

time will tell, i think stewart will only win one race next year, but they will be how david ragan is this year, hovering around the top 15.

Are you kidding me?... Haas had Jack Sprague, John Andretti, Ward Burton, Jason Leffler, Mike Bliss, Jeff Green, Scott Riggs, Johnny Sauter, Jermay Mayfield, Sterling Marlin, Max Papis, Tony Raines, Justin Labonte, Blake Fleese, and Kenny Schrader. You mean to tell me he couldn't have done something with that talent pool??? Justin gave Haas his first Busch win.

Stewart will probably make the chase, Newman I think will miss it by a few spots. None of those drivers are really WOW! look at them. The biggest names to win on that list are Burton, Mayfield, Marlin, and Riggs.

But Burton, Bliss, Green, and Sauter gave Haas top 5's and multiple 10's in the cup series and a pole or 2. Justin and Johnny got both poles and wins in the busch....er well nationwide series. In my opionion had Sauter and Bliss worked together they could've did some damage. Both are drivers who were and are underrated. And don't forget that Petty's new ace in the hole Chad was originally part of Haas's R&D program. Before he deemed him uncapable stare .... Yeah as to why Haas did that to both Sauter and Chad... you've got me..
