The sun was high in the sky and a gentle breeze rolled past him. Pembe'juhi had long since left his homelands to go on an adventure. Ever since then, he has seen and met plenty of interesting characters.
But today, the pink lion was resting in the grass on his back. His pale eyes were gazing up at the sky, at the puffy clouds rolling past him. He would smile and point at one, trying to pick an animal that it represents. There! He pointed at one, "You're a bird!" He cried out, not at all abashed that someone close by could hear him.

Attention fell upon the strange pink figure in the distance, it's legs flailing up in the air and random shouts coming out from it from time to time. What on earth is that? That thing was definitely NOT there before...
Limp rabbit hung from the ashen cheetah's maw, poor thing didn't have much of a chance with this hungry girl chasing after it. Though her mind quickly transitioned from thinking about eating to the... Lion? Well this is a first. Taking her time to bury the ball of fur before bouncing in the direction of the pink male, Koza stopped a good distance away where she could finally make out what he was saying. "A bird?" She said under a breath, looking up at the clouds that he was pointing at. Hmm... "I'm thinking that looks more like a gazelle." Femme called out, taking a couple steps toward the stranger. "No wait, I kinda see it."

As pale eyes gazed over the clouds, Pembe'juhi was surprised by the sound of another voice. Was he just imaging it or was he making it up? He turned his head slightly as it wasn't hard to miss the dark cheetah. With a lopsided grin, "Do you? The wings are folded down, like it's soaring through the sky." He nodded at the female.
And then, he introduced himself. "I'm Pembe'juhi!" He had hoped he wasn't intruding, but he hadn't seen anyone around for miles lately, so this was a first for him.

Once Koza made it to a couple paces away from the lion, she flashed him a friendly grin before sitting back on her haunches and tilting her head heavenward. "Hmm yeah, I see it now." Flicking her tail, femme motioned in the direction of another cloud beside it and she giggled lightly. "Look! That one looks like you!" Well, she saw it as a lion, that is. Technically, it was more of an abstract looking figure, it's front end quite large and poofy compared to its 'body'.
Cheetah wasn't one for being shy around strangers unless there was dire need to be, Koza wasn't afraid to openly introduce herself as well. Turning her attention to the male, she offered him a nod. "Koza'nembo. It's nice to meet you, Pembe'juhi... Pembe. It's nice to meet you, Pembe!" Without another word, gaze pointed back up at the clouds. "Think there's one up there that looks like me?"

With his pale eyes looking at the cheetah, once she mentioned that one looked like him Pembe raised his gaze back up at the sky. He searched the clouds for a moment before he nodded, "It does almost look like me! Too bad the sun's not setting yet or else the clouds would be pink like me!" He chuckled softly.
"It's nice to meet you as well, Koza." He gazed back at her before he listened to her question. "Oh, I'm sure there is one up there that looks like you." As he said that, he was raising his gaze back up towards the clouds, watching the roll pass slowly. It didn't take him long to find the clouds slowly forming a figure, that loosely resembled a cheetah, in his opinion. He raised his paw to point, "Look! That one almost looks like you, see the long tail? It looks like you're sitting down!"

Sunset? Yes, that would be good! "That would look so awesome! But then half of you would be yello--" She looked over at him again and giggled. "Yeah, I guess that could work too." He was definitely a brightly colored fellow, that was a first for this cheetah. Then again, Koza hadn't seen many others lately anyway.
"Ohh! I see it! I see it!" She said with a light-hearted laugh. "Now it just needs to rain, then it would look gray like me!" She looked up at it thoughtfully, watching as the cloud version of herself began to morph a little. What once was a long tail turned into two... Kinda resembled a rabbit now. "Look, I turned into a bunny!" Oh yes! She had completely forgotten about her kill that she had buried somewhere. "Hey, are you hungry?"

As Koza looked at him, Pembe couldn't help but chuckle. He would match the sunset clouds. Though, one look at the femme cheetah, he could definitely say that the rain clouds would match her. "The rain clouds would match you. Especially closer to nighttime when the lightning turns a slight purple color."
His gaze shifted back towards the clouds as he watched the cheetah looking one change into something different. It took him a few moments before he saw the rabbit that it had changed into. "A rabbit...how funny!" Ears perked forward as he gazed back at Koza, "Now that you mention it, I think I am a little hungry."

Koza looked down at her violet markings and let out a little gasp, never really having noticed how the streaks of purple on her paws resembled lightning. "Oh wow, you're right!" She replied, followed by her jumping into a little prance around the male. "Maybe it means that I'm lightning fast?" She asked jokingly. "Or is my personality rainy and sad?" Koza asked as she stopped in front of Pembe with a theatrical sigh.
"You are? Good! Now I just have to remember..." Looking around, it was hard to miss the slightly dug up ground in the distance. This girl wasn't too good at hiding her precious meals, fortunately for them. With a skip in her step, Cheetah made her way to where she had buried the rabbit and managed to retrieve it quickly. Limp ball of fluff was tossed in Pembe's direction while Koza refilled the hole. "Here, have some. I'm not really hungry anymore."

Curious, Pembe raised his head and watched the cheetah. What was she looking for? His question was answered when she found what she had been looking for and tossed it in his direction. It was a rabbit, her kill and she was offering it to him. Immensely pleased and grateful, he smiled at the female, "Oh, why thank you!" Not wanting to offend her, he bent his head forward and took off a stripe to eat.
Once he had swallowed, he looked back to Koza, "I would definitely say that you're lightning fast! You're definitely faster than me!" He chuckled softly, "I don't know about sad though, you don't seem sad to me!" He took another bite and finished it.

Koza waited patiently as she watched the pink lion eat her offering, it wasn't much but she was glad that he could find more use for it then she. "No problem! Any time my friend!" She was surprised at herself that the hunger that was tugging at her belly had completely disappeared. Whatever the case, she was glad to be able to help someone else out.
"Why thank you!" Girlie replied, flattered by any comment that was offered to her in any situation. "Now tell me something," Koza continued, sitting back on her haunches and curling her tail around her front paws. "Where did you come from?" She would ask casually. "I was just around here this morning and didn't see you." She added with a shrug.

After he had finished his full, Pembe gave Koza a wide smile, "Thank you very much!" He was grateful and wanted her to know he appreciated her gesture very much.
At her words, his face couldn't help but light up. Friend! It was nice to hear that from her, he had another friend to add to his list. He loved making friends, it was nice to see a friendly face every now and then, because traveling by himself got horribly lonely at times.
Her question brought him back to reality. His ears perked forward before his face was slowly forming a lopsided grin, "You mean you didn't see a pink lion wandering around then? I don't know how you could of missed me!" He teased lightly before replying seriously, "I got here only recently, probably around midday, I would imagine. The sun was still high in the sky, and plenty of clouds around."

Flopping back down on the ground, Koza let out a little sigh before propping her head up as she rested her chin on crossed front mitts. "You're very welcome, any time." Ahh the beauty of making new companions. Each and everyone was treasured in this girl's mind, all contributing to her seemingly never-ending happiness. How could one live without making friends, especially ones as nice as this one? Just the thought made an even wider grin spread across her maw.
Letting out a little giggle, Koza shook her head slowly. "I'm surprised I didn't. Come to think of if, I'm not really sure what I was doing earlier today." She raked her mind for the faint memory, though cut her search short to not create an awkward moment of complete silence. "You have family around these parts? Or are you a traveler such as myself?"
