Now, this was a bummer. A long day (of doing essentially nothing) and not a babe in sight! It was like... honestly! What the hell was wrong with the world today? Of course, that's just how life worked. In order to "get some", there had to be some to get! AND THEN WASN'T. Okay, okay, Reno knew there was some he could be getting right now, but due to certain reasons that will not be discussed here at this moment, he wasn't.
Now really, what did a guy have to do? Sure, he could go out drinking, but... alone? That's what lame guys who can't get laid do! And he most certainly could get laid! He just... wasn't. But yeah, that was it! It had nothing to do with liking to have a back-up in order to escape potentially awkward situations involving varying degrees of "Do Not Want". Of course, this tended to create a whole new awkward situation in the process, but Reno never really cared to think that far ahead.
But... wasn't it even more lame to be sitting around the house all alone? ... Dammit!
He needed a beer. There wasn't any beer. But there WAS a slice of cake in the refrigerator! It was with that thought in mind that the red-haired feline started his way for the kitchen. And that slice of cake (that wasn't really his in the first place, but that was a silly little detail) had better still be in the fridge.

Kaitaia Yazoo had spent the day, scouring the house and wandering about looking for Mother. He did this every day, and every day he met the same results. Mother was no where to be found, and without Kadaj or even Loz around to give direction, Yazoo was rather lost.
With a toss of his long silver hair over his shoulder, he wandered into the kitchen, looking for something to nom on. Pulling the fridge door open, he poked his head in and spotted a lone piece of cake. A grin curved the petite fox's face and he pulled it out, moving to grab a fork and lean against the counter, swiping a piece off the cake and sticking it into his mouth, closing his eyes in delight.

Reno pocketed his hands as he moved through the seemingly deserted house, wondering where everyone else was. What, was there some big party and he wasn't invited? You know, that just might have been it! A frustrating thought, but what more could he do? Nothing, and that was the most frustrating part. Shaking his head, he moved into the kitchen. Oh well. At least he had that slice of cake.
Only... he didn't. Pausing in the doorway, he blinked at the scene. Some babe eating his cake! Well... not!his cake, but we already went over that. But now, this was a dilemma. Babe... or cake? The chick looked familiar (and flat-chested, but he wasn't so picky about that), but... cake! The cake he was supposed to have and rub in the face of everyone at the party he didn't know about that might not even exist! And before he could help himself, a soft whine passed his lips. "Hey..."

Kaitaia Yazoo looked up at the whimper. His normally wide eyes widened more and he blinked, perhaps a little too slowly. "Hm..?" he asked, sticking his fork into the cake again and licking it off. This red-headed fellow.. He looked familiar. And why was he looking at him like that? "What...?"

Now, seriously, this just wasn't right. Everything had been planned out just perfectly. Well, okay, planned out wasn't really the word for it. But he had his eye on that slice of cake! And now some familiar-looking chick (which may have been a source of worry, actually) was eating it? Come on! What ever happened to dieting and 'Oh, no thanks. It'll all go straight to my thighs. You can have it.'? Huh?
"My cake..."
Oh, now that was mature.

Kaitaia He blinked. And blinked again. His cake? Wasn't he the one eating it? Didn't that make it his? Looking down at the cake, he stared at it a moment, then lifted his head again, tilting it at the red-head. "But.. I'm eating it.. Doesn't that.. make it mine..?" He spoke slowly, almost in a drawl, as if he was bored. "I mean, I found it.."

Reno found himself frowning slightly at the other's response. What sort of logic was that?! Resting one arm on his hip, he lifted his other hand and wagged one finger scoldingly. "Oh, no no no no. ... no," he chided, shaking his head in disagreement with the silver-haired fox. "That's skewed logic. Besides, I was totally planning on eating that slice of cake before you found it, babe."

Kaitaia Yazoo blinked. Babe? "But.. I got it first. And I'm eating it.. So doesn't that make it mine?" He stuck the fork in again, licking it clean, his long fluffy tail swishing. "Planning to do something and doing it are different things... I plan to find Mother.. But I can't." He sighed, jabbing the fork in again.

No, this wasn't cool at all! That cake didn't even belong to the silver-haired fox, obviously! Okay, so it doesn't belong to me either, but that's irrelevant because I'M NOT EATING IT. Shaking his head, Reno moved casually across the kitchen towards where the fox stood. But wait a second, this Mother business sounds really familiar... "Mother?" he questioned curiously, taking the fork from the other's hand and stealing the bite of cake that had just been separated from the rest.

Kaitaia Yazoo blinked, then snatched the fork back and moved the plate out of the cat's reach. "Yes, Mother.. Brother said she would be here, but she's not." He snatched another bit of the cake, chewing on it. "I can't find her! And it just.. makes me so sad.." He sighed again, staring down at the cake.

Reno frowned as the fork was taken from him, reaching to grab it back only to have the fox hold the fork and plate out of his reach. Way not cool. "So that's your excuse for eating my cake?" he questioned as he leaned closer, trying to reach for that fork held out of his reach. Hell, he'd just take the plate. He could grab another fork. If it weren't for this chick, he might not even have bothered with the fork. But still, this whole Mother business really did sound familiar.

Kaitaia His brow furrowed. Why did he insist it was his cake? He had it, he was eating it. He didn't see a name on it. "I was hungry and sad and it was there..." He sighed and set the cake on the counter. "Fine, you can have it.. I'll just go look for Mother again..."

Now, that did make sense. I mean, sure, chicks were all big on their dieting, but they also had that messed up tendency to stuff their faces when they're upset. Not that Reno felt any guilt as he leaned over and took the plate the fox had set on the counter. "Why d'ya gotta find her so bad anyway?" he questioned casually, taking another bite of the cake.

Kaitaia Yazoo frowned. "Because.. because I have to! Mother is going to rebuild the world! She does so much.. and we're all so ungrateful.." Yeeeah. He had stolen that speech from his brother, but it's not like this kitty would know that, right? "And.. I just miss her so much.." He teared up, wringing his hand fretfully.

Oh, now that was just cheating, tearing up like that. It made Reno feel bad, guilty for something he hadn't even done and wasn't even involved with. But seriously, this was all beginning to feel really familiar. Silver-haired fox? Mother..? "Hey, cheer up. If she's so great, you're bound to hear something eventually." It was then that it clicked. "Yazoo?" Wait, hadn't Yazoo been a boy? ... ... ... dammit. Now seriously, this wasn't fair. This was supposed to be the part where he cheered up the upset young lady and they... Well, you get the idea.
