So my mom is buying me two ballet classes, that are drop in and cost $15 each. [-excited shriek-] Whenever I bring up ballet, e.g. leotards, shoes, or whatever, she says '"I don't want to talk about it."
I don't think I'm being naggy, but my mom seriously refuses to talk about it at all!
-end rant-
So, how are your parents when it comes to ballet? Are they supportive or not?

My parents are very supportive, but that's probably because my mother was the one to signed me up for dance in the beginning and she had danced herself when she was younger.

My mom is one of those super SUPER supportive moms (which can be embarassing at times redface but fun heart ) ....
As for my dad, he was a bit iffy at the idea of me in ballet mainly because I took it for a year when I was younger and then quit (He didn't really want to be wasting money again)....He seems to be more supportive these days though. heart

My parents are really supportive of it, and they help push me towards my goals as a dancer. My dad use to sing and dance alot in high school(had a singing group with lots of his friends) and he fully supports my intrests in dance

Knight_of_da_ladies My parents are really supportive of it, and they help push me towards my goals as a dancer. My dad use to sing and dance alot in high school(had a singing group with lots of his friends) and he fully supports my intrests in dance That's really good! I've heard too many stories about male dancer's family's being so unsupportive of dancing it's sad.

Illustrious Verse my parents let me practically quit school for it... *envy* My parents are very unsupportive despite the fact that my mom was a dance critic and my dad was a freelance ballet dancer. They don't seem to believe that I will be able to make a career out of it and are sort of put off by the idea of letting me go to a pre-professional school next year (I was originally going to try to go this year, but that dream got snuffed out pretty quickly :'/)

nope. my mom is always complaining about the money, i take 7 classes, and its a lot of money, but i tend to think its not since many ppl at my studio are taking 15 [or more] classes.
sometimes shes happy about it, rarely..
they hate driving me.. i cannot wait until i can drive.. then i wont have to worrying about being late! (i always tell her im ready to leave a half an hour b4 it starts so she'll be ready bc she take the longest time.. it takes 10 min. to get there)
my sibilings dont like me dancing, i think. my sister thinks im never home, and they dont get to do some activities bc of me but im always picked up late anyways.

crying My mum is not supportive either~
She told me that she is considering me to stop ballet for this whole 2010 year so that I could concerntrate on my "major goverment exam" which I do not really care~
I want to perform and become a great ballet dancer BUT my mum doesn't knows about it.. Even if I told her, she would always say Education is more important than ballet and becoming a great ballerina is useless~ x_x
What am I suppose to do...?
P.s. : I'd like to get a schlorship in any ballet/dancing school in any part in the world.. 3nodding
