Do you guys think that people who put together their own meanings for tarot cards are just as valid as any of the suggested definitions? I've noticed that it's not often that information from one source lines up with information from another source, so I was just wondering if someone could draw their own understandings and have it be just as accurant..

Do you mean looking at the card and getting a feel on the situation without looking at the actual cards meaning?

I think so... More or less I think I mean looking at the cards and getting a meaning from them rather than from an outside source? I think what you're saying lines up with that..

Your supposed to do both. You should be able to look at the archytypes in the cards and determan what they are trying to tell you. Remember, the cards are just a port for your own ability to be read through.

i started by using the meanings...but they don't always hit the spot...so now i look at the picture & it tells me a story. it's really accurate. i've had people get verifications on it only minutes afterwards...
i can't wait for ppd...i'm gonna get a professional reading done again this year.
i got one last year & it wasn't fully accurate, but i think it was my fault cause i was asking the cards too many things...i dunno ^_^

generaly i use them with my own feeling and the defintion and use a little bit i know about the person to give advise (i use an orcale not a tarot deck).

It really all depends on the situation. If the cards speak to me or the cards tell me to use the actual meaning.

I do both. Because knowing the definition for that card helps but it is your own feelings on the matter. Although each deck has its own meanings.

I did a tarot reading yesterday for a neighbor that is a christian. I think she may be interested in paganism now.

Not that I know much about these things... But I think Tarot is kind of a port-way thing for people to become interested in Paganism.... It's not threatening, but it's related with it in people's minds...

Tarot reading from the meanings? Yeah, first time was when I was nine... Read from the pictures and meanings in my head? Nope, haven't had a chance... All of our stuff is still in storage, including my tarot decks..
