Greloren was nervous, to say the least. It'd been a while since his last date and though he'd gotten some forms some time ago, he hadn't really found any lately that sounded interesting. However, Quill wasn't happy with the situation, or so the man claimed, so he'd picked one out of this latest group. It'd be an interesting meeting, at least.

A chirp came from the man's hair and Greloren sighed. "Yes, we're going to meet a girl." Another chirp sounded and the man just kept walking. He glanced at the tables outside before heading towards the door. "Too hot," he muttered as he entered the cafe.

It took a moment for his eyes to adjust and he scanned the area. He didn't want to sit out in the middle of nowhere... But... with a sigh, he sat at one, figuring the couches would be a little too... something... for a first date.

Delucca Sunday smiled as she walked into the cafe. Well at least it was familiar type turf, she thought. Though usually, the woman was the waitress bringing young couples their orders, rather than one in a couple. But hey, may as well give it a try.

Inside, it seemed at least semi-cozy. It had been rather hot outside and was pleased to see that her date was either late-leaving her to pick the table-or smart enough to not stay out there. The latter suspicion was confirmed when she spotted the man whose profile she'd been given inside. Figuring she may as well get this over with, the woman approached the table.

"Greloren, I presume?" she asked calmly, her hands buried in the pockets of her jeans.

She'd tried to dress down as much as possible today-wearing a crimson t-shirt, and a jean jacket to match her long pants-both worn to at least hide her ridiculous skin coloring for a short while. Her eyes were only lightly lined in black and her lipstick was just a simple glossing. She kept her piercings out and tried to at least keep her dreads up in a loose ponytail type thing...try to be as not-supremely-shocking as possible.

Though anyone who got immediately scared off by her appearance wasn't worth her time and it would probably save trouble, best not to give too bad of a first impression.

Greloren turned at the sound of his name. "Yes, I..." His jaw went slack when he saw the person standing before him. He tried to quickly cover his reaction, clearing his throat as he stood. "I would be Greloren." He gestured towards the other chair at the table. "Please, sit."

The little grey dragon poked its head out of his hair and chirped happily at Delucca, giving a slight bop to the side of Greloren's head with its wing, which might have been accidental. "Oh, uh, this is Quill." The man indicated the little dragon, which seemed amused at one fact: Greloren was shorter than this woman. The grey climbed up to the top of the man's head to peer at the woman better.

Delucca was a little more than used to having people gawk the first time they got a look at her. The fact that this man actually bothered trying to hide it and offered her a seat instead of outright freaking the hell out was stored in her brain as something that could earn him respect points with her in future. Honesty's nice and all, but being able to bite your tongue is helpful.

"Hello there." she said to Quill, waving a little at the creature. With a pleasant smile that she usually reserved for her better customers, the woman walked over and took her seat.

"Definitely odd being on this end of the spectrum in a cafe." she commented, taking notice of the menus as she sat. "Usually I'm the one taking orders, not thinking them up."

Glancing up at the man as he sat back down, she decided it would probably be best to start conversation with something friendly. "So, what might your little buddy there be? A familiar, just a good friend, or something else?" Never knew what you'd get in Gaia.

Greloren smiled back at the woman, taking his seat as she sat. "You're a waitress?" He wasn't sure what else to say to that and glanced at the menu. He was relieved that she turned the conversation to something he knew a bit more about: Quill. "Well, I'm not sure he'd be exactly classified as a familiar... but he's been with me for a long time. Definitely a good friend."

The little grey puffed his little chest out. Quill studied the woman for a moment before deciding that she would probably pet him. Flapping his wings, the little dragon flew down to the table, where he sat in the middle as if he were a centerpiece.

"Yes. Have been since I was fifteen. Pretty decent job, really." she commented in an offhand manner before turning the subject back to the adorable creature that had fluttered down to sit on the table.

"That's interesting. How ever did you two meet?" she asked, reaching out a couple of fingers to lightly touch the critter on it's head. She was careful in her motions-some critters on Gaia hated being touched like that but this one seemed interested in it, considering how he was acting.

At least the conversation seemed a bit more relaxed then it could be. The whole thing could be horribly awkward or much worse. Anyway, talking about this little critter didn't seem so bad. Delucca had always had a weakness for small cute things. Just not to the point of squeeing over them and having tons of pets.

"He found me," was Greloren's quick answer to that question. "He'd just hatched and I was nearby. Next thing I knew, I had this little dragon clinging to my shoulder." The man smiled a bit in recollection of that time. "He wouldn't let go, so he came home with me. We've been together for quite some time now..."

Quill crooned happily as the woman reached out to pet him. The little pudgeball loved attention.

"What about you?" Greloren asked. "Got any pets?"

Delucca's smile brightened at the reaction she got from the critter. How sweet. The petting became less tentative and more affectionate.

"Oh, no, not really. Petshops creep me out for no good reason, and I haven't been fortunate enough to randomly come across any creatures that decided to latch onto me." she answered, "Not for lack of liking animals, though."

"So, what sorts of things are you interested in?" she asked.

"Ah," Greloren couldn't help but chuckle at bit at the little dragon. He certainly seemed to brighten people's day. Unless they happened to be terrified of little dragons, that is...

"Well, dragons..." He grinned and settled back in his chair a bit. "I like to jog and hike. Forests. Books. Animals." He eyed the woman for a bit. "What about you?"

Quill gave another happy croon as the petting continued.

"Hm....well," Delucca thought for a moment, still absentmindedly stroking the small creature in front of her's head. "I like books, animals, movies, studying the traditions of other cultures...oh, and Enchanted Glass Blowing."

His interests at least weren't crazy, by the sound of it. Definitely a plus. "I liked hiking when I was young, but now I live in the city. Not much of that to be done there."

"Yeah, I've got an apartment, so not much for nature and woods there. But it's nice to get out every now and then." The man sat there for a moment longer. Okay, he just had to ask. "Enchanted Glass Blowing?" He raised an eyebrow.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 2:58 pm

"Ah, something I got into when I was young. I saw a documentary about glass blowing when I was seven. Ever since I'd wanted to try it, so I jumped at the chance without thought after the local magic school place started offering the classes. The enchantment part actually makes it a bit more interesting." she said with a nod. "The school wasn't something I'd normally be interested in looking around, but hey, when they have a class I want, I'll take it."

On an afterthought, the woman added, "They also offered an interesting class on the cultural significance of magic through the ages. It was quite fascinating, apart from being a little odd."

"I see... I've never tried much for magic. So what sorts of enchantments do you put into the glass?" He'd debated trying to learn some magic. After all, he had elf blood, surely that would help him, right? There were times he wished he knew more about that side of his family...

"Bit odd how?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 3:40 pm

"Well I wasn't one of the full-time magic students, like everyone else in my class, so it was odd discussing things with them since I wasn't familiar with all of the same principles of magic that they were." the woman explained, shrugging her shoulders.

"Well, it depends on the assignments. Sometimes we make magic mirrors, sometimes they're glass figures that will dance across your table, sometimes they just change colors. It's pretty fun, actually." the whole thing actually was fun. "They have a few similar classes at the school that I've considered taking."

"Sounds like fun." Maybe he should look into something like that... "Plus, I bet you could make some money selling that kind of stuff..." He grinned at that idea. Money was always nice. "What about enchantments to keep it from... breaking or stuff like that?"
