You'll never expect what you can't see... A recap of last statements in the story.Presea_cousin Shin-lu smiled at Siom. "Well duh, we've been traveling together a long time, so of course we'd be a good team. Right, Ilyana?" Ilyana had a gobkin ear in her mouth. She quickly sucked it in and began chewing it.thain89 Dark lowered Adeva down off his back for the last few steps before turning to see Roy quickly approaching. Dark glared, but now noticed he was carrying Graff on his shoulder. "You actually brought him along?" He looked away, adjusted his mask again, and continued talking, "It's more honorable than I woulda done. If someone passed out in a fight with me, I would've just left 'im there." He then rolled his eye to look back to Roy, "No offense to Graff of course.""It really shows," Siom responded. He gave a questioning look to Ilyana. He then walked over to Kayla and held his hand out to help her up. As she slowly stood, he first asked if she'd be fine walking into town - the gates were visible from here beyond the light rain. The he leaned in and wispered to her, "You know... in all my years plotting a revenge on gobkins, eating them never came up as an option." Even with this statement, there weren't any signs suggesting he had any displeasure from the event. Paraiimill sat there for awhile, staring at Ilyana in a horrified disgust. 'I suppose it was already dead and would have just been left here to rot... but that was just a strange sight.' Par'il finally stood after Kayla did, but he didn't stop staring it Ilyana... Hopeless Loveless Adeva let Dark carry her around. She rested her head against his back, still trying to get rid of the tears in her eyes. She suddenly heard the sound of Siom's voice, her ears twitching. She stared in horror at the Gobkin bodies strewn every all over the path. She gulped in fear at all of the bodies, ignoreing what Dark had said. She stepped down onto the ground as he lowered her off his back. Her eyes raced around and then fell upon Roy and Graff. One minute they were fighting, the next they were helping each other. 'I will never be able to understand the male mind.' Princess Zelda21 Kayla simply nodded in reply as she heard Siom ask if she'd be fine walking into town. "Come on, let's get going before the weather gets any worse!" Mira piped up. OniKuro KuroKaze Graff start to wake up, looks around and see where he is and who is carrying him, "what the ...", start to talk but the words didnt come up as he start to cough up some blood, after spitting, Graff pats on Roy shoulder and talks in low, grumbling voice, "thats enough big guy, Im better now...", Graff get down from Roy shoulder, kneels in the muddy ground, rubs his chest letting out a small groan, then rises and looks at Roy eyes, "you beat me... fair and square, I dont have any excuse, and you also saved my life, why? I dont know and I dont want to know why, so I also owe you my life..." Graff bow his head, "Thanks for sparing this mans life, I hope I can repay you in this lifetime, but mark my words... this isnt over, you and me get a date on the arena... until then, we may never be friends but you get an ally in me...", Graff bow his head again and leaves Roy alone. I HATE YOU WITH A PASSION Roy looked over to Dark as he stopped a few feet away, but Roy didn't reply. Those stupid questions didn't deserve a response. Graff woke up and seemed to be alright aside from his chest which may be seriously damaged. Roy could careless though, saving the man's life was just a taste of Roy's honor. He wasn't as bad at the rest of the group may think. After Graff's response, Roy nodded his head. He was still exhausted. thain89 "You're right, Mira. We shall continue," Siom pointed to the simple town gates as he spoke, but instead of taking the lead, he stayed near Kayla. "You seemed to take quite the blow in the last fight." He turned away, as if to speak to himself. "How could I have let this happen? How did I not see them coming?" He seemed to rest all the blame of her injury on himself. Trying to take his mind off of Ilyana, Par'il looked over the group, especially to the few rejoining it. Forgetting the open wound on his back, he started over to Adeva. "Are you alright? The group kinda separated back there." He then looked over to Roy as Graff dropped down from his shoulder. He leaned in closer to Adeva, "What happened between them?"Dark merely watched with a scowl as Graff give his speech to Roy. 'How could one vow his life to someone he doesn't truly know?' Dark finally turned away from them and proceeded towards the village. Princess Zelda21 "It's alright Siom, I didn't see them either. There's no need to worry, what's done is done and cannot be changed." Kayla said, smiling kindly. She glanced over at the village gates, somewhat lost in thought. ...then, one day, it'll bite ya

Shin-lu looked to Ilyana. "You can throw that away now, I'll buy you food inside the village." She said as she walked to the gates.
Ilyana threw the gobkin arm she was eating behind her and followed Shin-lu.

Adeva stood quietly, staring at Graff as he made his speech. Her eyes then slowly fell upon Roy and filled with fear. She remembered his threat to her. She quickly fixed her scarf further over his face and then quickly took hold of Dark's hand. She gripped it as tight as she could, wich wasn't exactly very tight, her entire body shaking with fear. She fallowed quickly behind Dark as he walked off, her hand still holding onto his. She looked back over her shoulder at Graff and Roy, then back foward, keeping her head low so to not attract attention to herself.

Siom gave a weak smile to her, "Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks Kayla." He saw the distanced expression on her face. "... Still worried?" he asked kindly.
Dark felt the girl's hand wrap around his. It was strange... It's not that he didn't enjoy being... wanted (and not for a crime). And he could understand her wish to change the way he believed. But, why did this girl cling to him so? Of everyone here, why was it Dark? As he felt the girl's arm tremble, he looked back to her - head down and shaking. Then, he shifted his gaze to their interlocked hands. He really didn't know what to do. This whole hands thing was new to him. He didn't take her hand back, but he didn't pull away either. Finally he just stared forward again, not changing anything.
Adeva had abruptly left without a word. She grabbed Dark's hand and continued on. Par'il stood there almost in shock. 'Roy and Graff... Adeva and Dark... I really missed something back there.' He could see her trembling from here. 'Maybe Dark is forcing this on her? But that seems unlikely, even for him.' In any case, Par'il started after her. Just then, a half-eaten gobkin's arm fell in front of him and landed at his feet. He froze momentarily and shuddered. He then walked around it and again towards Dark and Adeva.

((I apologize for not posting in a while. I've been so busy with other things lately. sad )) "Worried about what?" Kayla asked curiously. As she kept walking, she could hear the faint sound of laughter coming from the forest. 'That sounds strangely familiar.' she thought, quickly glancing towards her left, then back at the village gates. *Perhaps it is the tradition from your village that he speaks of.* Stardust sent.

When the battle died off, Anita landed on the ground, and while she wondered if she would change back, she felt herself easily get pulled back into her human form. Everyone was rather distracted with this or that, and she stayed a bit to herself again, pulling her cloak close. It would take her a moment to get used to her human form again, the burning ferocity of the crow still fading from her.

Graff kneeled again, the pain in his chest was worse now, he had troubles to breath, "surely broke some bones... damn, I cant remember the last time that I had to deal with broken bones...", Graff rised and walked toward Par`il, "sorry to bother you, the village still is too far away?, I will need some things to fix my wounds and I dont speak elven very well, could you buy the things for me?..." Graff start to cough and spit some more blood.

Adeva let out a soft sigh and continued on behind Dark, keeping her hand held tight around his. She was trying to stop the shaking that was overcoming her body. Her eyes soon fell upon hers and Dark's hands. She stared at her hand, wich was wrapped tight around it, and then his, wich was unmoved. She released his hand slowly, not knowing if she had just done something that might've offended him. She looked back over her shoulder and Par'il fallowing behind them with Graff pulling up along side him.

You'll never expect what you can't see... ((Sorry for not posting sooner))
"Entering the elven village..." Siom gave a weak smile and looked away for a moment, "I suppose I shouldn't have said anything to bring that up." He turned back grinning widely. "There is no reason to fear them. It's not like they'll bite," he stated, trying to calm her from 'her worry' of the town.
Par'il paused his approach to Dark and Adeva to address Graff, "Um... sure Graff, if it is required that I do so." Par'il watched the man choke on a little blood. He held out his hand over him, "Aa' sina lamya en' maksa suula tela tanya man aa' harwa lle." A blue aura emitted from Par'il's hand. "I do not think it will mend broken bones, but that spell should have made you feel better." He then looked forward to Adeva, staring back at him. He gave a weak, yet unsure smile before continuing forward. At the moment, he didn't know how to start a conversation with her. Dark felt the grip on his hand release. He looked back her thinking, 'Did I do something wrong?' Looking back to what she was viewing, Dark saw Par'il talking with Graff. He frowned under the mask at the elf, before turning back forward and walking on without her.
The group passed between the small wooden gates. They were upon the town. Trees and large shrubbery and 'shrooms had doors. The tree limbs had scarce bridges connecting the still-living, plant-based buildings.
Two mildly armored elves ran in front of the group. Not letting them pass. One spoke, "Putta! Ooma mankoi lle ier sinome ri' auta!" Dark, thinking the elf had just insulted them, questioned angerily with his hand reaching to his katana, "What did you just.." Siom threw his arm out in front of Dark, cutting him off, "Lye a' lle n'uma harwa. Amin ier Siom tuulo' i' 'Gladiator's Arena'. Manka lye ier, lye ier ere' sinome a' mainka nat' tuulo' lle." The elf nodded. The second elf, looking towards Dark, whispered something into the elf's ear, "Ro ier i' umartempla er. The elf shifted his gaze to Dark who was still glaring at them. He then leaned closer to Siom and stated, "Ier i' elee no' tanya er." Siom nodded, "Well everyone, we're here. But remember, we are but guests in this village, be respectful."
((Translation: Paraiimil: "May these words of soothing breath relieve you from that which ails you." elf 1: "Halt! State your business here or leave!" Siom: "We mean you no harm. I am Siom from the Gladiator's Arena. If you would allow us, we have only come to purchase provisions." elf 2: "He is a cursed being." elf 1: "Keep an eye on that one."))

You'll never expect what you can't see... ((Oh!... Am i continuing as the elves too?... Umm... okay.))
The elves stared at each other, mildly confused by the girl's strange mix of english and elvish. After a moment of talking amongst themselves, the second elf turned to her, "Auta ale' amin." "Ier i' quel coiasira, Kayla." The elf turned and began walking down the path into town, towards a tree. He opened the door, "De i' vano, auta i' hyarya, vanwa i' iaur, ar' e'a tanya sambe ier i' ostar fallaner."
Par'il was staring at the village in awe. Even his town wasn't this elaborate. Without explaining much he spoke Graff without even looking to him, "Maybe you should follow Kayla."
((elf 2: "Follow me." Siom:"Have fun, Kayla." elf 2: Climb the stairs, turn left, go across the bridge, and in that room is the village healer.))

Anita pulled the hood of her cape up as soon as they came to the village. She felt strangely out of place among so many elves, even if she was one. Since they were strange elves, she was nervous to meet with any. Her pink hair and bright cerise eyes made her feel different. She hovered at the back of the group, trying to avoid any attention.

"Thank lle." Kayla replied to the guard. She turned her gaze towards Siom, nodding once in reply. Kayla followed the guard's instructions as he led her to the healer's home. She entered the room where the healer was, sitting down quietly.
