Of course it's real, and it's only getting worse, the Earth has raised only a couple degrees, but it's the side effects that are killing us. We've melted away tons of ice and because instead of a very reflective white it is now a very absorbent navy blue, making the Earth even hotter. The proof is in the natural balance, animals are migrating further and further North, even plants are blooming out of season. I just don't understand why the government keeps denying it, selfish bastards stare

Yes, i second those points. I've noticed all that too. Now everyone is on this huge "Go Green" fad. It's funny that it took till a few celebs started using washers/dryers and such that conserve energy and labeled it as "Green" to get everyone else on board. Now it's spread like wild fire. At least it's called attention to the problems all our pollution and tree cutting has caused. So if the end result is positive...

Global warming is a problem that the government denys because it doesn't, at the moment, suit them gaining even more money. The fact is, that the stupid argument saying that global warming isn't happening because of the sudden storms and hurricanes is based on nothing; as global warming is what causes such disasters, it could very well be that global warming could send the world into an ice age before we actually feel the real heat picking up. If you don't know how yet then the reason global warming can cause such things then look no further than the icecaps: the melting of these can cause major tropical storms, the rising of the oceans, and various climate changes. but besides global warming there are many other problems going on with the world, such as the magnetic poles; they have been shifting slowly but surely from the "top" and "bottom" of the world to the sides, the shifting of the magnetic poles will of course shift the spinning of the world, turning the certain points that they stop on the new north and south poles which will freeze them in to the new icecaps. This would prove disastrous to the enviroment though it seems to be a natural occurrence. But all we can do is try to make a difference no matter how futile it may seem, doing this will convince other people that they wouldn't be the only ones to this if they did. The only problem we have so far is that every one isn't doing anything because they know other people aren't and it won't make a difference if only one does it but if every one tried then it would work, which is why each individuel must do his best no matter what.

I've said before that "global warming" could be just natural and will carry on, regardless of what we do. Sure, we're doing something to cause it to get worse, but at least we have some way of changing the outcome, even slightly.

This winter, it snowed mor than it has in a LONG time near me, and during the spring, it flooded because of all the rain. But it also was a lot cooler this summer than it usually is. This shows me that things are a little more complicated than it is just getting warmer. I live in Wisconsin, so the rising of the water level in the oceans might be causing the temperature to DROP near me due to increased precipitation, I guess. I'm not really sure how it works, but this year was really screwed up weather wise.

GLobal warming is as real as your nose and i have the data to prove it.
let's face it people, the environment needs our help, and it's already starting to show signs that it seriously needs our attention.
the environment affects everyone, you know. people, animals, plants. and if the environment is in bad shape, so will everybody.
dengue, malaria and h-fever are spreading rapidly due to the increased population of mosquitos and so many people are getting killed due to these diseases. so, why are the mosquitos breeding so quickly? because the weather and the climate is changing so much, it's making the conditions for breeding turn from one season only to "all year round."
rise of sea levels. do you guys know how many islands in the pacific and how many meters of coastlines could disappear if sea levels continue to rise? too many, in fact. It's too damned scary.
All those hurricanes? that's due to climate change as well! when hot and cold air meet, they start to form a vertex of pressure... and that pressure either turns into hurricanes or tropical storms. what happens? a complete disaster, that's what! how many lives must be lost before we open our eyes???
just think, people. there are millions of people on gaia. and even if just a few of those millions of people pitch in, we can make a difference!
please, take time to read this and consider! no matter where or who we are, what we do affects everybody because we all live on one planet!
so, what do we do? climate change is the product of global warming and global warming is due to the release of carbon into the air, as well as other chemicals. these gases thicken the atmosphere, making it hotter and hotter, soon making the living conditions here on earth impossible. the easiest way to stop or at least mitigate it is through conserving energy, not burning plastics, using biodiesel instead of gasoline and other such stuff. we need to maximize sun power. we need to pressure the gov't and the different corporations to stop funding the use of fossil fuels, especially coal. we need to find alt. energy sources. we need to do all we can or we die!
and by the way, i'm no gov't stooge.

oh yeah... by the way..
if global warming continues like this and the earth's general average temperature gets up to 2 degrees celsius, there's no turning back.
accdg to research, global warming did occur before, when the ice bridges started melting after the ice age. at that time though, the melting wasnt as rapid as now, and because of the slowness, it all eventually returned to normal.
scientists say though that the present global warming is occuring so rapidly, things may not return to normal anymore, making living on earth impossible. in other words, everything on earth is going to die when we get to a measure of 6 degrees celsius on the world's general average temperature.
