It was the morning of the fourth day since training pack had been split.
Rhea had been so confused and lost. But he already had started training a bit. Armus had started working on his language skill. And as the days went by without the other pups, he had discovered that he really enjoyed playing and hiding in Corrah's cloak. It was so fun, he did like the pack leader and would follow him gladly.
He could tell that there was a bond and shared something more. But he was to young to understand it.
He would normally sleep nuzzled up against Armus. But this morning he had some how worked his way inside of her shirt and in his sleep lay trying to suckle from her.

When Armus woke up, she could feel the now-familiar feeling of Rhea snuggling against her - but then with a jolt of shock she realized that her shirt was stretched not only around herself, but around Rhea - and that he was trying to nurse from her as if she had given birth to him.
The back of her neck burned hot with embarrassment and she sat up abruptly, catching Rhea in her arms so that he wouldn't fall to the ground.
Corrah was standing nearby, leaning against a tree, the cowl of his cloak pulled back, and the early morning sunlight was illuminating his face, accentuating the shadows of his scars. He was laughing softly, silently, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Truly a mother now, I see," he chuckled.

In Rhea's dream he was just about to get the warm rich milk, his little fangs scrapped softly as his paws worked at Armus trying to get the sweet sweet fuild out. When suddenly he was dropped from her.
He yelp in shocked as he fell down threw Armus' shirt he landed on his back in Armus' arms but he didn't know what was going on and he started to whimper and cry, the sound more like a lots puppy than that of a crying surprise.
He looked around trying to figure out what had just happen, The pack leader was laughing and he could smell that something was wrong with Armus...she was nervous or scared...was he in the middle of a attempted mating.
He wriggled from Armus' arms and moved to run to the bushes. He did not want to get in the way or attacked because he was a pup in the way of the adults.

Armus immediately regretted her reaction - in her eyes, she had frightened Rhea and made him run away, something she couldn't forgive herself for if she never found him again. But she had been startled - what else could she have done?
"Rhea!" she cried, ignoring Corrah's comment and jumping to her feet. Without even pausing to pull her boots on, she ran after the pup, through the bushes, trying to find him back again. "Rhea! Come back!"
Corrah chuckled again and moved to start their breakfast. He had already been fishing that morning, and had come back with a brace of fish that would not take long to prepare - or to eat. After all, they did have to make their way down the mountain soon.

Rhea could tell that Armus was excited and startled about something. He had gotten in the way and now she was chasing him. He could remember the way back to the clearing and he had to get away so he would not be a distraction or cause any more trouble.
His ears lay against his head as he ran down the mountain. Maybe he could find a way to make it up to the alpha's. Maybe he could kill something and give them food to make up for getting in the way.

Armus was only growing more annoyed with herself as she ran after Rhea, following him by the sound of his passing, her own steps nearly silent because of her bare feet. How could she have scared him like that? It was so thoughtless of her!
On the other hand, she tried to defend herself against herself, she was still getting used to being a mother. For years it had been only her and Corrah, and now suddenly there was a child to take care of.
She sighed and ran faster.

Rhea heard someone running after him and he sighed ducking into some brambles and stopping his running. He sat there waiting to see if she would go back.
He was just trying to be a good pack member but he had messed up. He sighed and looked down at his cut hand. He lowered his head to lick at the cut from a bramble thorn.
He had even started to even wear clothes...and not chew on the soft leather of them.

Armus's eyes grew wide as she stopped hearing the sounds of Rhea's flight, and she froze in her tracks, afraid that she had lost him, afraid that he had gotten too far ahead.
"Rhea!" she called out, her voice filled with fear, her blue eyes anxious as she looked around worriedly. "Where are you? Rhea!"
If anything happened to the boy, she would never forgive herself ... never!
But she could hear nothing, and she was beginning to grow frantic.
"RHEA!"

Rhea heard the worry in his pack mother's voice and whimpered. He knew she was really upset and was not playing. He lowered his head, his ears flat, and his tail between his legs, and slowly crawled out of the brambles.
As he moved into the clearing his cut left hand could be seen. It was not too deep but was bleeding. He looked up at his mother with big sad and innocent eyes. "Soorrry..." he said softly.
He really was sad he had upset her and he knew that the pack leader must be upset with him.

Armus just about fainted with relief when she saw Rhea crawl out of the bushes, and she ran down to him and scooped him up, cuddling him against her face and hugging him tightly.
"There you are!" she murmured, sitting down with him. "I was so worried about you ... don't run off like that again, all right?"
She set him in her lap and stroked his head tenderly. Only a matter of days, he had been with her, but she loved him as dearly as if he really was her own.
She spotted the cut on his leg, and her brow furrowed in worry. "Oh, Rhea," she said softly, tearing off a bit of her pant leg, a strip from the bottom. She moved to tie it around his wound, careful not to make it too tight. "You really should be more careful ... I know you like to be wild, and run around and have fun ... but if you injure yourself you're only going to make others worry about you ..."
She finished up with his leg, then put one hand on his head and smiled at him.
"Do you know who's coming back today?" she asked, her tone suddenly bright and cheery.

Rhea yipped at he was picked up and nuzzled against Armus' cheek giving it a reassuring lick. He did not mean to upset her. He was just so confused.
Seeing her brow furrow and hearing her words he whimpered softly then looked down and moved to lick at his wound but she was too quick to get it. "Sororry" he said softly. He was getting to understand words better though his speak was still a bit off.
His ears stayed against his head even as she patted him. He knew she was his mother and that Corrah was his father so when he thought he had interrupted something pups did not do he got frighten. He could not understand why Armus did not get it. Or why she chased him.
He blinked again confused but the sudden change in tone. He shook his head softly. He didn't know. "No"

Armus was overjoyed to hear how Rhea's speech was improving, and when he showed how well he understood her final question, she positively beamed.
"Aras and Kanis and Ruran are coming back today," she told him cheerfully, hugging him again. "Today marks the beginning of your official training! I bet you're happy to be having Aras and Kanis back again, aren't you?"
Though she had seen how little regard he'd had for Ruran. Still, he was going to be partnered with Aras, so they didn't need to interact too much. Maybe it would still all work out.
Personally, Armus wasn't fond of Ruran either.

Rhea smiled brightly his tail beating against Armus' arms. "Arrras!" He giggled and nods, "Rrheaa still.....stay with......mother?" He didn't know that his training had not begun. He had already been watching and learning so much already. He wondered if the pack leader would stop playing with him when the other pups returned.
He was glad to have the others back now he could play again. He could not wait even if the pack order would change. He leaned forward to nuzzle Armus' chest

Armus laughed softly and hugged Rhea tightly. She didn't mind his tail thumping against her arms - it showed her how happy he was, and she wanted nothing more than for him to be happy and safe.
"Of course you'll stay with me!" she told him brightly. "And Corrah, too, we will all be together. Sometimes maybe we'll split up for some special training or something, but not for long."
She giggled as Rhea nuzzled her chest, hugging him tighter.
"Now come on, let's go back up to Corrah and have some breakfast," she said in a coaxing tone, "and then we'll come back here and maybe they'll all be here already."
