I had this feeling in my gut earlier today that I should sell my hoard of OMFG Boxes to get my Seal Slippers soon. Why is that? Because I had a trepidation that it seemed about time for another delivery of a random boxes to arrive at the cash shop.
Low and behold! It hasn't even been a day since I had a bad feeling and my fears have already come true. The Bag of Win 2 is now available, and all I can say is... WHY GAIA WWHHY!!?? gonk
Everything has deflated so nicely in the MP and now everything is just going to inflate like mad again. I could have gotten my slippers so easily if I had sold all my OMFG Boxes over the past couple days.
Of all the boxes they just had to reintroduce the BoW again... I thought the first introduction was a disaster since too many people suddenly became rich and everything just zoomed up in price because people had more gold.
If you ask me, we were in need of gold sink, not a gold explosion. =(
I know that was a lot to read, I appreciate it if anyone read all of it. What are everyone's thoughts about the BoW 2?

The first thing I thought was to cry. XD The item I'm questing should inflate now. I heard that it was harder to win big with this bag of win. I guess we'll just have to see. I might try one to see if I make it big.

Hooray, I'm for the other team smile .
First, there are loads of ways to make more gold when this kind of stuff shakes up the marketplace.
Second, the market's been dead stale for at least a month. Prices were falling at appalling rates, and as far as I could tell it's because people simply weren't buying for whatever reason. Items that would have been snapped up in seconds a month ago now linger forever as the price sinks ever further.
What I observed from the first bag is that prices don't stay high from momentary aberrations like this. Once the first bag went away, prices returned to roughly the same levels they were before. And yes, this is momentary. Prices only stay high when the overall supply vs. demand warrant it.
What's interesting is that some of the new items are changing the demand for some of the older items, and the prices are being affected. But that's another essay, probably for my journal.

Are you referring the all the knockoffs we've been getting? I'm guessing that the knock offs have caused the older item's prices to fall. I don't really try and keep up with prices of items I'm not interested, and thanks to some of these knock offs..I've loss interest in a few items.

I don't know that I'd call them knock offs, more like "Series 2" of trading cards or the next series of Beanie Babies or something. They never exactly duplicate the originals, but they do give more options which dilutes the demand somewhat. But if someone still wants one of the originals, they'll find a way to get it, because there is no substitute.

I've noticed they've released these things right after a really good (EXPENSIVE) update. They just released the skins, the centaur and the imp being a really nice gold sink. Also the sports update will help with that. I think these BoWs are to stabilize the mp. It gives the gaia cash people a nice profit.

Thats true. I hear "knock offs" way more than "series", I'm guessing form people biased to the older items.

I love the bag of win, the prices on the mp right themselves after awhile, it just forces business to slow down a bit while the youthful are still trying to "hit it big" besides, it gives gaia money for better servers (at least we can hope right?)
