NASCAR has officially stated that the Nationwide series will not be returning to Mexico to race. Officials say that they have accomplished a solid base for the sport and it's time to leave. Iowa is the favored track to replace it. That would be cool because watching races at Iowa is fun, it's a great track. (Currently used for ARCA.)

Yeah I have to agree... the costs may have been great, but that was one of my top 5 races to watch in the Natiowide schedule crying . I'm a road course fan , and to be honest I really would wish that either of the foreign tracks would have made a cup series debut...(and to get rid of all these crap cookie cutter tracks).

No Iowa is not a road course, it's a 7/8 mile oval built 2 years ago. It is a nice facility. I don't know why, but I never cared much for Mexico City. It is a nice facility, but whatever, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

Iowa is also one of the speedways that was griping over the possibe Washington track, because of a possible loss of ticket sales. In an already tight racing budget area.

I think Iowa is a respectable track that deserves the date.

Like I said, it's a nice facility that I think will get the spot in the NATIONWIDE series.

If their goal's been met, what's the deal with Canada? I hope they stay there.

That is a better facility and better race to watch than mexico in my opinion.

Not to mention the fact that this isn't the first time that Nascar dipped their foot in International waters... and then pulled it out. Remeber Japan?
