I've heard that one of my favorite groups made of 5 talented singers might be banned from Japan, because they kept on getting #1 in every music charts ever since they started performing in Japan, which has been about 3 years.
Discuss: Whether it's fair or not to ban foreign singers/bands/groups for being #1 in a country. What you think about it. What could be done?

Are you talking about TVXQ? :/ I've searched about it and yeah, it seems like there are some rumors about it..
Personally I don't think that's fair. It's understandable that other Japanese singers want to profit as much as possible, more than a singer group from Korea. But it should be about the singing skills, not about the jealousy and money. Just because a group is talented in singing, dancing and playing instruments and have so many fans, one can't just kick that group out of one's country because of jealousy...especially when they're the ones that allowed them to sing in their country. :/

I don't think it really matters. Just because a country bans a band from being number one, doesn't mean it will have any real effects. People aren't so patriotic for their countries anymore that'll go, "Oh! The government dictates that this band is not #1 material! They must be terrible!"
More likely, people will be still like the music and nothing will change. Record sales won't be affected, and people will still love the music.
And there's really nothing that can be done. Mostly because it really isn't that serious. Being the number one band in a certain country is merely a title.

✗✗Blob D:~✗✗ Now that I think of it, I don't think it's a really big deal to others...but I guess it is for them, since this 'being an idol and becoming more popular than the others' is so important these days..

I think it's kind of silly. I mean, I'm a musician myself, so I understand the 'search for fame and glory'.
But obviously the Japanese musicians and groups should just see this foreign band as competition.. instead of taking the time to vote them out of the country.
