Okay, time for a little commercial advertisment.
I took this course recently, and graduated about two weeks ago.
It's 500 bucks, and you can take it anytime after your 9th birthday.
I took it in my Junior year of high school, and it's basically a mail-order college class. They'll give ya a big book with ten different lessons in it, each with its own guidelines, and an advisor which will tell you which lessons to work on, what you've been doing right, what you've been doing wrong, how to make it better, ect.
Most of it is just pure story writing, but at the end they do a major amount of work dealing with making a query letter for possible publishers and showing you the best ways to get your stories sold.
Oh, and the best part is it counts as college credit... 6 English college credits to be accurate.
