Do you like demons, Martial Arts and magic? This is the anime for you!
Yu Yu Hakusho, or YYH as the fans call it, is a show about a 14-year-old boy named Yusuke. He constantly skips school and gets into fights. But what people don't see is the good hearted kid he really is. He saves a kid from getting hit by a car and dies. With the help of Koenma, the son of the King of the Spirit Realm, and Botan, the bubbly Grim Reaper, he regains his life by taking the job of a Spirit Detective.
He meets many people and makes many friends. His main comrades are: Kazuma, a boy in the same grade and school as Yusuke, most people call him by his last name, Kuwabara. He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has a kind heart, is a cat lover and a true romantic; Kurama, a century old fox demon in a human body, he has been taught how to love and care for others. As such, he is constantly putting his life on the line for the sake of his friends. He is a 'Momma's Boy', very well mannered, soft spoken and has the highest grades in his school; Hiei, a short, smart a** fire demon with a tragic past. He comes off as a loner and uncaring when, in truth, he has the most complex honor code when it comes to loyalty and hasn't once turned on his team in terms of going against them.
This show is great because the characters are so interesting and deep, the plot makes you think (especially the Chapter Black saga) and because the characters are so different than the anime of today, everyone has a different favorite and hated character, creating a very diverse fan base.
