a roleplay between hale&&epoch[sei] and lan&&krinn[kiru]

The old dusty pages cracked underneath Lans touch, acting as though his delicate fingers were a fine threat to its existance. The sun flooded into the town that very day, but Lan didnt feel like being within its presence. Not yet. Not now. He had taken the day off - afterall, he trusted Shuuhei could go one day in charge of the kitchen without murdering it. Lan gave the other way too little credit sometimes. The man was a fine chef, one that could easily rival Lan. But pride had to always come somewhere within a mans heart, and Lan was no exception. The young adult sat perched on an old forgotten wall, with cracks and holes filling it all the way over as it stretched across the hill side on the outer perimeters of the whistling forest. Speaking of which, the trees seemed alive and well that day - a beautiful exterior illusion to the horrors which may have lied within. The guardian tipped back his head and yawned, cradling the book carefully in his hands as he did so. It wasnt everyday you found an old artifact you had smuggled away from your old family.

Lan looked back at the pages, brushed with ink so many centuries ago. It looked as though if he only laid one finger out of place the entire thing would collapse. Just like some people he had met when they had come to their breaking points after so many years of living with pain. Lan would never want to be one of those people who laid that one finger out of place. The one who was responsible for causing another thing misery. Especially to people he loved.

A flash of blue grey lit the sky for a moment, and Lan looked up, expecting to see Krinn for a moment. His guess was wrong however, since it was only a bluejay, flapping its wings merrily against the sunny backdrop of the earth that day. Speaking of Krinn, the boy had practically disappeared that morning at the crack of dawn to the old mans shop, as if something important had been going on that day. And Lan thought there was something going on that day - but he couldnt exactly place his thoughts on it. As if it were something he hadnt celebrated in a long time.

Like someones birthday or something...

Soon enough though, the young adult found his interests elsewhere and realized that the time was that of early afternoon and for lack of better words, he was starving. With a groan that sounded almost like a choke, he put the book down and stretched his arms high towards the sky. Then lost his balance and fell backwards.

"Aaaaaah!!!"

The land the hill sat on was definately not flat land. One side curved down wards, the other did a bumpy start into the forest terrain. And Lan had just rolled uncerimoniously into a tree at the base of the side that curved into a lone hill. "Ow!" He screamed, hands instantly reaching for his head, his legs somehow having come to a stop over his torso, knees resting on the trees old wood exterior.

"That wasn't fun...."
He mumbled to himself, embarrassed for having performed such a funny little feat.

Thank god no one had been around to see that one.

He hoped.

Hale had found himself waking up earlier than usual on this day, probably because of the storm the night before when he had met Inge. He had not slept well, and decided that he should take a stroll to shake off his weary feelings before work that night; though he hoped he might be able to take a nap before he went out again.

The young host opened up his fridge in hopes of finding some afternoon breakfast, and sighed with disappointment as he realised that he hadn't gone shopping in several days. This was the only problem with his work, sure it was great, but it left him with little time to do other things that mattered. Hungry, tired, and somewhat grumpy, Hale turned back to his room and returned a few minutes later clad in his favourite golden-brown and dark olive green kimono; one that looked like a dark forest, calm and silent. He slipped on his sandals over his bare feet, deciding that the day looked nice enough to warrant it, and took off out his front door after checking to make sure his bottle and wallet were securely tucked away in the folds of his fabric.

Taking the long way around, Hale found himself walking along side of the Whi Forest, inadvertantly heading in the direction of Sojo's house, when he came over the crest of a hill only to watch another man, about his own age, tumble uncerimoniously off the stone ledge and into a tree. "O-oh my," Hale murmured to himself as he paused for a moment to assess the situation before rushing to the man's side, noting that he was pretty handsome as well. 'This town is just full of beautiful men isn't it,' he thought to himself as he knelt down beside the other man, "Are you ok, Sir?" he asked, checking to make sure he didn't have any injuries.

The first thought that came to Lans mind was "wtf is going on here." Mind placed on hold for a moment, the young adult tried to recollect himself, cringing as he felt a bruise starting to form on the back of his head where he'd been hit. Gold black hair fell around his face, the ponytail having come rather loose after the strange encounter with the tree. He wanted to say no, he wasnt okay. He had just rolled into a tree and hit his head rather hard. Ontop of that he was taking care of a boy that had mysteriously come out of a bottle with near no explanations and only mysteries to go ahead with. Confused might be a nice way of explaining things to this other man. But he wasnt about to blurt out his entire life problems to some stranger who happened to ask him if he was okay.

Instead, he just opted for lying at the moment. "I think so." He said breathlessly, flopping up, hands behind him to prop his body up easily against the sunny afternoon. Then he inhaled and jumped to his feet, the dizziness only slamming into him for a small few seconds before disappearing. He placed one foot far behind the other and stretched back, exposing his stomach for a moment and stretching his arms above his head with a long cat like yawn. Lan almost looked like a trapeze artist ready to head out onto the tight rope. His golden streaked hair glistened along his shoulders for a moment, touching the bare of his back before he frowned, opening his eyes and brushing it back and away from his face.

Turning to face the newcomer, the young adult realized that they were evenly aged, and that unlike Marijus, the stranger didnt seem much older then him. Finding the lost hairband, Lan tied back his hair with hands of an expert, putting only some of it up and leaving a thin layer to cascade around his neck and shoulders. "Thanks for the concern though." He said, casting a smile at the other. He wore a kimono Lan noted. It was pretty - to say the least. Suddenly remembering his manners, Lan stuck out a hand to help the other up, his classic sheepy nature kicking in to remind him to be as kind as he possibly could.

"I'm Lan."
The golden black haired man said, his voice clearer now that he had been rejuvinated with a smack to the head from the oh so cheerful tree. If trees could be cheerful that is. Smiling sheepishly, the young adult added "I tend to do that a lot. So dont mind me. And you are....?"

Hale breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the young man hadn't been seriously injured. Sure, he was probably hurt a bit, but nothing an icepack and a few hours wouldn't handle. 'Though, he hit his head,' Hale thought seriously for a moment, 'he might have received a concussion from that.' Hale's brow furrowed a little bit as he thought more, wondering if he should take the young man to the clinic just in case; it wasn't uncommon for complications to arise some time later, after all.

"Ah! You should be more careful after hitting your head like that," he said in surprise, reaching out towards the man as he stumbled a bit from dizziness, though no necessary as he seemed to have his balance now. Hale blushed slightly and his his face in his long, straight, black, flyaway hair as the other man stretched, revealing his midrift, "You look like you're pretty atheletic," Hale said in observation.

He looked up at the other man as he looked down at him, Hale's dark olive eyes taking in every detail and watching every small action he took, from how he moved to how he tied his hair. "Oh, you're welcome," Hale said, as he realised that the young man had spoken to him and he came out of his daze that he seemed to go into when observing people.

"Lan, huh? Nice name," he said, repeating the name so he wouldn't forget it, "I'm Hale," he responded in kind, reaching out and taking the offered hand firmly but gently as he allowed the person the assist him up again. "We should get some ice onto your head, it is unwise to leave an injury of such nature unattended," he smiled, "My house is relatively close by, though, the only other thing I can offer you is tea as I was just on my way to the market to restock my food," he said with a bit of a cuckle.

Lan blinked at the new spark of conversation and a grin spread heartily across his face. "An athlete?" He mused, looking at Hale once more, his golden eyes glittering with entertainment. "I suppose. I just recently performed as an acrobat in a traveling troupe." He revealed, placing a mock bow in as he said it - pretending as though he had one of those large top hats in his hands. He bowed like a jester who was about to invite one to a show. But what kind of show would this one be, he wondered. He paused on the way up however, his breath hitching in his throat as he brought about his next words carefully. "And I suppose I should, but time doesnt stop for anyone, and I dont want a little bump on the head to stall me up." He confessed, rubbing a hand behind his head sheepishly. It was like seeing two sides of a coin. Sheepish and light - the normal attitude Lan seemed to maintain. And then there was the acting attitude. The mysterious, dark, if not sometimes entertaining mood he was in whenever he was performing, or felt just like doing such.

"Hale."
He said with a nod. Then a smile spread across his lips. "Cute name." Once they were both safely on their feet, Lan felt a bit safer. As if no more injuries would occur so long as he was a bit more careful. He blinked as the words "on the way to the market" were brought up. Krinn had been rushing off to the market that morning, and Lan had felt that it would be better to find him before he caused too much trouble then to leave him be until trouble came to him. If that was the case though. Lan truthfully had no clue what Krinn was up to that day. Even if it was something special.

"I wouldnt want to keep you from your shopping time."
He said, a sheepish smile spreading across his features. "But if its alright with you, could I accompany you to the market place? I need to find Krinn before he goes and finds himself a wild animal to try and wrangle with. Honestly. He may be a dust but that kid knows nothing of common sense." Lan sighed and put two fingers to his head with a grin at the other childs antics. He may be a little out there, but there was no way for Lan not to have some older brother affection for the kid. "If the old man hasnt already sent him on some absurd errand." He paused, wondering if he had explained too much. Oh well. The worst the other could do was refuse him. Or ask what the a dust kid and/or child was. Atleast, thats what Lan thought at the time. "And I'm sure everyone needs help with groceries atleast once in their life. It could kind of be my way of saying thankyou for the concern you showed earlier..." when I was rolling on the ground in pain.

Lan wondered how well the cafe in town was fairing, and dared a guess that some absurd war had broken out while he was away. But his thoughts were carried away to Hale for the moment - as the man had quite an interesting air around him. Even if it had only been three minutes since the two had met. Three minutes, and already he was debating the ideal possibility of a budding friendship.

Hale mused at the thought of meeting an acrobat; this man seemed to be nearly the complete opposite of him, athletic, out-going, and free. He smiled softly as Lan bowed but watched his pause carefully and raised an eyebrow at his comment, "Stranger things have happened," he said, not wanting to reveal his Dust to a stranger after hearing what Sojo had to say about them and the possible enemies that were out there. This man was a complete stranger after all.

Hale reached up and brushed a stray set of hairs behind his right ear and blushed furiously when Lan mentioned his name was cute; Hale thought it was somewhat mysterious, much like the rest of his customers. Hale gave a little cough to hide his embarassment and fussed a little while straightening his kimono from having crouched next to Lan earlier.

"Oh, sure, if you're going that way, I'll gladly accept the company," Hale replied, liking the idea of having a companion to go with. He still dind't know the town's layout very well, and tended to get lost during the day since it looked so different at night. When Lan mentioned the Dust though, Hale's eyebrows nearly flew off his forehead in surprise, "Y-you have a Dust!?" he stammered slightly, trying to get over the prevelence of Dust owners in this city alone; he had already met three others, one of them being a God. "Wow, I-I didn't think there were so many," he said in awe.

Hale smiled, "I'll accept your offer to help me with the groceries, and maybe you could invite your Dust to, I would surely like to offer you some hospitality for helping me in return," he said with a wink, "Maybe we can hold up some time and get your injuries tended to as well?"

Lans eyebrows arched in surprise at the mention of another dust so easily off the mans tongue, and did a double take. For once in his life, he was stumped. Sure, he had met Mia and Marijus, both with their own dust children, but never a man who was so openly admitting it. Like he had full knowledge of the subject. But that was alright with Lan - because putting it together piece by piece like a puzzle was just as easy for him. Then he nodded in return to the questions and smiling answers. "Yes, I have a dust. And you'd be surprised. I've already met two others with children, and Krinn has met one on his own as well." He winked and leaned forward a bit, hands locked behind his back. "They're all around - you just have to look hard enough." He said softly, before grinning and rocking back on his heels for a moment. His thoughts landed on Krinn, and how strange the child was. How wonderful the child was.

Birds were scittering from above, chirping and whistling merrily for the two to continue on their way. Lan moved fluently, his golden hair spilling away into the sunlight of the afternoon. His carefree smile was enough to make anyone melt. "I'm sure Krinn will love that - infact, I'm sure I know where he is. We can easily get him on the way to the market. He'll love that." Lan admitted, knowing the small dust was either there or just somewhere in town. He would be with the old man, helping out that day. Or doing something Lan knew he couldnt quite place his tongue on. Then he laughed a little at the last thing the other said. "Hold up time? I dont know how you intend to do that, but it surely sounds good to me. So," He breathed in and out, then brushed his fingertips against the others hand bringing it up and bowing down like a proper man - as if he were about to kiss it.

Then he seemed to think better of it, and instead entertwined the two hands, turning on his heels and smiling over his shoulder at the other. "I'm sure theres no time to lose so lets be off." He said cheerfully, lightly tugging the other behind, though there was enough leeway so that Hale could slip out of the grasp easily if he decided he wanted to.

"Oh," Lan said after a pause. This other young adult seemed to know about dusts. Did that mean he owned one as well? Oh well, there was really only one way to find out. And that was to ask. "You seem like you know a lot about dusts. Do you have one yourself?" He smiled back at the other for a moment. "And if so, has he or she evolved into a child yet?" His eyes were free and curious. But his head was racing for answers all the same.

Hale smiled gently, this was the first time anyone had been so open with him before, "I'm not as suprised as you may think, Lan, I have already met one guardian with a child and one without; though you are the first human guardian with a child," he said, remembering that Sojo was a god; was he considered a human if he was a god of humans? Hale made a slightly perplexed look as he thought about it more, becoming more curious about his partner. "I am dating the one with the child," he added as an after thought and then chuckled slightly. Hale folded his hands into the sleeves of his earthy kimono as hewalked along with his new companion, "Well, I don't think I have to look that hard, since I've only been here for a bout a week and I've already met three more guardians," he said, somewhat amused by Lan's words. Were they really that abundant though, wouldn't that attract attention from the gods?

Hale looked up at the bird the flitted by above them and smiled; maybe he should transfer to an earlier day shift? It was somethign he was greatly considering due to the amount of friends he was making now. "So Krinn is his name?" Hale mused more than really asking a question, assuming that the Dust was a boy from the way Lan spoke of him. Hale blushed furiously once again as Lan took up his hand after speaking, and the man was temporarily renedered speechless out of surprise.

He was only slightly disappointed when Lan didn't kiss him, though he was also thankful, because Hale wouldn't have been able to tell what might have happened next with such a beautiful man flirting with him. After all, what happened with Sojo was because of the same flirting. Hale wasn't used to this kind of reception from people as his last town was full of a**l retentive jerks.

"Yes, I also have one," he replied to the questions by pulling his bottle from his kimono, "My essence is time, that should explain enough about my earlier comments too," he said, holding up the bottle so that the little ticking clock within could be seen and heard.

Lan laughed at the reply, an open smile caressing his face. "I didnt think so." He replied, looking back at the other. His eyes sparkled with delight - finally another to talk so freely with. "Human guardian?" He asked, blinking for a moment. But he wasnt too confused. Stranger things had happened after all. If there were things such as lifedust, then certainly there had to be things as crazy as demons and angels. Gods and devils perhaps as well. "Dating the one with the child? He must be a pretty dashing man to capture someone as beautiful as you." Lans eyes sparkled with mischief as he ran his eyes over Hale once more. Then he grinned and chuckled, shaking his head. Flirting was always fun around others - but Lan knew that half the time he was only being a tease. Afterall, dating really wasnt his thing. Dating, among other things.

Looking ahead as the street to the market place unfolded out before them, Lan shifted his backpack on his shoulder with one hand and felt the contents rustle around for a moment before settling back down. "Mmhm." Lan rumbled lightly in response to the question of the name. "I've been with Krinn for about a month, if you dont count the weeks I've been with the bottle." He said, counting on his fingers with his free hands for a moment. Usually, by now, he would have already let go of Hales hand. But the warmth of another persons skin contact was too comforting for him to give up so willingly. So quickly.

As the bottle was easuly produced from the kimono, Lan turned his head once more, golden eyes blurring with interest and admiration at the bottle and its strange noise. "Yes that seems to explain it quite well." He said with a smile. "Its a beautiful bottle. I'm sure it will turn into a dazzling young child, much like yourself." The last comment was made subconsiously. Lan almost smacked himself in the head for it, but instead just played it off with a free, mischevious smile. "From what I've seen, I'd be sure to guess that Krinn was born from a rain essence." He smiled with a soft sort of look in his eyes. "Unlike you, I had no one to tell me what was what until after I met Krinn for the first time as a child." He laughed at the memories. "Honestly, it was quite a startle at first."

"Mmm..."
Lan hummed in thought for a moment as they turned onto the cobblestone pathway to the market place, hands still interlocked within a kind grasp. "You said you were dating someone?" He finally said, looking over at Hale with a smile on his face. Just a curious smile. "So who is it? And whats his dust like?" He looked forward one more time. "I bet Krinn would love to meet his dust. If he hasnt already."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:04 pm

"Yes, the guardian is of... unusual nature," Hale said with a pause to determine his choice of words. He ran his free hand through his flyaway hair nervously and fidgeted slightly at Lan's comments on his looks. He wasn't used to people flirting outside of this club, and no matter how often it happened, he still felt insecure everytime. "T-thank you," he murmured shyly and made an excuse of looking up at some birds in a tree to turn his face away to hide his sweet discomfort.

He looked up to see that the maket was finally close by, though with a pang of regret, Hale realised that in his morning stupor he had forgotten his shopping basket. "A month? So I assume they don't grow like a normal child? I mean, I was told it wouldn't ever be a baby, but from bottle to child in a mere few weeks is somewhat impressive. What was the changing like?" he asked, a whole slew of questions pouring from him unrestricted. Hale had been so curious about the process and didn't know what to expect, so any information that might save him from possible destruction of his house during some crazy unexpected transformation, would be very much appreciated.

After Lan finished his inspection of the bottle, Hale tucked it neatly away into his kimono once again to protect it, "Thank you again, you flatter me too much, Lan," he said with a smile, starting to feel a little mroe comfortable with the man's teasing. "If you want to know for sure, I can give your information to Sojo, I still have to deliver the information about the other new bottle and guardian I met last week. I believe she had a phoenix essence," he offered thoughtfully. "Sojo would be able to tell you in an instant what your child has."

Hale nodded in response to Lan's question, "Sojo, whom I mentioned just now, he's a guardian of a teen, though it is my understanding that he also recieved him as a teen. There's a background there I don't know about yet, but I'll find out eventually. Hymn is his Dust with a Siren's Voice essence," he made a bit of a sad face, "Though, we didn't quite get off on the right foot, and I'm not particularily fond of him because of the argument he had at me."

Lan hummed quietly after the other had finished speaking. He chewed his lip, wondering how to answer the first question. The transformation from bottle to child? "To tell you the truth..." he said, swinging their arms back and forth between them. "I really didnt realize that Krinn was the bottle at first when he came out of the water - oh." He paused, knowing the other would probably be confused. "I guess I should sum up how it happened for you." he chuckled a little and looked at the other. "I had just gotten out of a nasty rain storm and was walking back over a canal when it all happened. It was still slippery, so when I fell in, I seemed to have lost track of the bottle. Soon enough though..." he lingered off, the memories fresh in his mind. "Soon enough a child had emerged from the water. But I'm pretty sure that the bottle reacted to something in the water - which I later realized was all flooding from the rain." Lan swung their hands in a slow, steady procession. "I think the bottle has to be around its essence to transform into a child though - but dont trust me, since I'm only guessing."

"And as for the changing...."
He paused, and looked at the sky one more time. "Its practically instantaneous. There is no slow change from bottle to child. It just..." He paused with an exhale of breath before turning to smile at Hale. "Happens." he finished, before the low buzz of the market place chattered filled him with anticipation. He smiled - he always loved to come here. To hide in the crowds. To meet new people. "Sojo...sounds like he knows a lot. Perhaps I'll consider it. But I would love it if you could give my information to him. He seems like a wise man." He paused, and looked over as the other described the man he was dating. "Only last week? Isnt that a bit rash?" He asked, before catching himself. "Sorry," Lan admitted with a sheepish grin. "I really shouldnt be talking. I know nothing of the strange ways of love."

At the mention of Hymn, Lan blinked. That was the dust that Krinn had met and talked to only a week ago. Maybe a little more. The strange dust had never been encountered by Lan himself, but Krinn made it sound like the other was quite an enigma. Though the dust child never really did tell him much about the other. "Oh, I see." he mused kindly, looking over at the other. "I'm sure you two will be able to work things out however." He smiled. "Perhaps you two just dont know how to deal with eachother yet. I know I didnt when I first met a lot of people." He paused, as the rythmic swings of their hands kept them going, further as they finally reached the beginning of the market place. The smell of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and meat wafted through the air. Along with that, the clang of trinkets and jewelry filled the air, with mocking voices and tones. Sales and bargains were all over, but Lan had to find Krinn before he actually took to shopping for himself.

Pausing in mid step, Lan turned to the other, curious as to how the cafe was running so far. But that thought was for another time in another place. "Where should we start?" Lan asked with a smile. "And dont worry, Krinn'll find us sooner or later. I'm sure of it." He also meant to say 'so lets get your shopping done first so that we can get on to other things' but didnt feel up to the task of being so straight forward. Instead, he just pocketed one of his hands in his jean pockets, still lightly gripping the others hand. Their fingers were entertwined, but only in the way a friend would do such. No hidden emotions were there to unveal. At least, thats what Lan thought.

Hale pondered Lan's words for some time, "I think that may be more difficult for me then," he murmured. "I found my bottle in a very old antique shop, but when I left the shop, I had been thrown back half a day and was in a completely different place in the city," he sighed, his expression one of exhaustion, "Needless to day, I haven't been able to find that shop again, and no one has ever heard of it either," he explained. "Was there anything else unusual about the bottle before it changed into a child?" he asked, wondering if maybe there was at least some sort of warning that the child was ready to grow.

Hale looked relieved after Lan's explanation, "Well, at least there isn't some explosion when it happens, I woudl rather hate to draw attention to myslef, or have my house disappear overnight or something," he said with a nervous laugh. Hale chuckled a bit at Lan's reaction to Sojo and him dating, "Weeelll..." he said with a long pause, "I actually ended up sleeping with him the first night," he said, blushing furiously, "Don't get me wrong though, I would never do anything like that under normal circumstances, and well, that day was anything but normal, same with Sojo." Hale looked rather embarassed, "I find Sojo to be a little pervy, but I can't complain, I just wonder if all Gods are like that..." Hale had never stopped to consider the fact that all of the Gods might be like that, and that it may be totally normal to Sojo to be like he was.

"I'll tell Sojo about you, maybe he can ask Hymn about Krinn," Hale said after getting over his embarassing moment, "Though, chances are, Sojo already knows."

Hale turned to a nearby stand that sold fresh fruits, "Here sounds good," he said, greeting the shopkeeper and picking out some fresh berries and other various fruits. "I'm really looking forward to meeting your Dust," he added, "What's his personality like?"

"Thats rather odd, indeed." Lan said with a small laugh in return before his attention was diverted by the question once more. "Wierd?" He repeated, his hands carelessly on his hips. Wierd....well.....what was wierder then a child popping out of a bottle? "Both Mia and mine began to swirl with a colorful mist before the children came out. Perhaps thats your best bet." He said with a small smile. He remembered Mia, and how both of them had been utterly confused right from the start when they had met. He wondered when he would meet her again, and just how well she and Sable were doing now. He really hadnt gotten to know the dust child before, and Krinn had taken a liking to both of them as friends and family. Returning to present thoughts, he glanced over at Hale for a long moment, surveying him with a casual glance that wasnt anything out of the ordinary. Then he laughed. "No, I dont think anything too drastic happens when your child appears."

The conversation had swayed back to the matter of this Sojo fellow and him again. Lan pursed his lips for a moment as his thoughts swayed on the matter. Sleeping with eachother on the first night? Now that was definately rash. "You must trust him a lot then. I just hope you dont get hurt." He smiled. "Relationships that go too fast never go very well at all." There was a sort of secret hidden within the root of the words themselves. Something there that whispered 'been there, done that.' "Well, I'm sure any day with someone out of the ordinary - especially a god! - would be anything but normal." He said with a shrug, looking over at Hale. "He sounds nice though. I hope he is. I dont think you deserve anything less then a kind soul."

As they swerved towards the fruit, Lan looked around and wondered if anything was worth buying. The shop keeper smiled at him as he bent over a few small strawberries, his eyes lighting up with amusement. Being able to make money by doing things like this had always amazed him. At the question of Krinn, Lan laughed and looked over at Hale. "Personality? Oh, I wouldnt know where to begin." He said with a chuckle. "Krinn is..."

"Lan! Watch out!"

Lan didnt have time to finish his sentence. They always had told him 'speak of the devil, and he shall come.' But now he had to wonder what the child had gotten into now. Turning his head, the golden black haired adult didnt even have time to let out a yelp as a mass of fur tackled him to the ground. Tail wagging, ears flopping. A golden retriever barked happily in his face, its wet tongue all over the side of his cheek. It was the same one that had always hopped on him whenever he had entered the pet shop. "Down!" he said through laughs roused by the tickling sensation of the tongue. "Verre, get down!" He gently pushed himself away from the dog and took a breather as the dog barked once, twice, and three times to signify that he was rather enthused. Looking up, he put on a sheepish smile as Krinn ran up, his hair brushed away from his face. His mismatched eyes danced with laughter even though he was trying to stiffle it in all honesty. Instead of the formal japanese styled top he had shown up in, Krinn now wore a white tanktop with a raincloud on the side of it, and shorts. He was running barefoot, but flipflops dangled from his left hand. Obviously he had been romping around in the water earlier.

"Speak of the devil and he shall come."
Lan recited as the younger of the two helped him to his feet. Krinn let out a laugh.
"Sorry, Sona's not here. Try again later?" Lan just smiled and placed an elbow on Krinns head - something he did solely for the purpose of annoying the other. Annoyed, Krinn batted away the elbow and stuck his tongue out at the other before turning to look at Hale with confusion clearly evident in his eyes. Then he turned to Lan, hands on his hips. "Whos this?" He asked curiously. "Your new boyfriend?" And then he promptly ducked a hand meant for his head. "Just kidding!" He said through laughter. Lan let out a sheepish smile and turned to Hale. "Hale, this is Krinn. Krinn," He looked at the other with a stare that held a bit of mischief in its depth. "Behave." Krinn rolled his eyes with a hint of laughter and put his hands on his hips once more. "Oh, you know I always do." He shot back before ducking around Lan and smiling at Hale. Sticking a hand out, he put the other back on his hip and beamed.

"Hi, I'm Krinn."

"Mia, is that another guardian?" Hale asked with curiosity. The more people he knew of, the better. Should anything strange happen to him, at least he knew people he could turn to for help. "What kind of Dust does she have?" a million questions flooded his mind suddenly, "A swirling mist? I shall keep an eye open for that then," he said, deciding to keep his nagging questions for Sojo, who would probably have the answer to any question Hale threw at him.

Hale flet a little embarassed, he hadn't meant to reaveal that much detail about his relationship with Sojo, but somehow it had been nagging to come out, "I guess I do trust him," he said. Hale looked up tot he sky, "I've never been in a relationship before, so I wouldn't know, but Sojo has been gentle enough with me so far," he explained. "I'm used to all kinds of rough treatment, though it's partially the reason I left my other city." Hale looked ovver at Lan once again and smiled, "I don't doubt that there are many people who deserve the same," he said in response to Lan's last comment.

The young Host looked up in surprise and yelped as a dog came rushing up and tackled Lan. Among thunderstroms, Hale was alos afraid of dogs, big dogs; he was highly relieved to find that the canine wasn't attacking Lan though, and he relaxed a little, though remined leaning against the fruit stand, pressing himself against it as though he were trying to meld into the wooden frame.

"Sona?" Hale mumured to himself, wondering who that was, "B-B-boyfriend!!?" he was almost too shocked to say the word, much less anything else. He watched the two of them exchange words and looked down at the child as he offered his hand, "Um, nice to meet you, I'm Hale," he replied, introducing himself in kind.

Lan smiled at him, leaning over and wrapping his arms around Krinns shoulders - purposefully placing his head ontop of the childs storm gray hair. Krinn puffed out his cheeks irritably, but otherwise stayed the same, with a slight grin still tracing across his lips. "Mia is another guardian." He confirmed with a smile. "Sable is the first other dust child for Krinn to meet....and I met her when they were both still in bottles." He laughed at the memory of running into the older girl....literally. He wondered again when he would meet her again, and sort of missed the presence of the smarter "older sister" figure in his life. "Sable is - as far as I know - some sort of faerie dust child. Small, pixie like wings and all." He nodded when the other said he would keep an eye out for it. That was a good idea. Instead of doing what he did which was panicking at first and then wondering what in the hell was going on.

Listening to the other speak about relationships, Lan smiled a bit sheepishly. "Ah, I see. The first relationships are always the wierdest." He laughed with a sort of smile on his face. "You never really know until a certain amount of time has passed...." Lan trailed off as Krinn blinked and turned his head a bit up to look strangely at Lan, wondering what the other was talking about. "But I hope your first impression is correct." Lan laughed, and cocked his head to the side. "Rough treatment? Sounds like you were living in quite a horrible place then." Lan nodded at the statement about deserving a loving relationship and smiled. "Yeah, you're right..." And it felt almost as if he were going to say 'but not me.'

Krinn let one hand tickle the back of the large golden dogs head. In return, it barked and wagged its tail viciously as Krinn noticed the sudden vulnerability that seemed to surround Hale.
"A pleasure to meet you, by the way." He said with a smile before reaching up to flick Lans nose as revenge for being leaned on. "Are you alright though? You look sort of pale." He put a hand on the dogs head and looked down as he let out a loud bark. "Hey, Verre. Go find Younka, kay?" He said, letting the dog rush off under his command. Whether or not he would do what Krinn had asked....well that was up to fate, wasnt it?

"Boyfriend?"
Krinn laughed outloud before smiling happily at Hale. "Nah, more like Lans cat." Lan shrugged with a bit of laughter in his voice as well. "Yeah, no boyfriends for me. I havent had one since well....oh, we're getting off the subject! Good going, Krinn!" He said the last part with mock accusation. The two just grinned and Lan let go of the other to straighten up and smile at Hale once more as he stretched one leg back and put his hands in his pockets, midriff flashing once more. Not that some onlookers minded. Infact, it seemed as if some of them enjoyed it. But Lan wasnt about to care about things like that. "So are you busy, or do you want to come along with us Krinn?" He asked his smaller charge, who just shrugged. "The old man told me to take a break, so I can frolick around with you two lovebirds for a little bit." Again, he ducked a blow to the head. "Kidding again!" He said, smiling sheepishly at Lan. Then he turned to Hale. "So you have your own dust right? Have you met any others 'cept for me?" He asked out of good nature.
