Lyssa, on her own for the first time, found herself traveling across a wind-strewn field, not knowing where to go or how to get there. Her sister had made adventuring sound so easy...
But of course she would press on. Lyssa would NOT be outdone by her sister. She had lived in her shadow her whole life, and it seemed like nothing she did was quite as good as what Alyna had done. So, with this, she would show them. Alyna hadn't made it all the way across the Soquili lands...Lyssa would. She was determined to, to prove to herself and everyone else that she was just as good, possibly better, than her older sister.
Yet...she didn't even know where to begin. She stood at a crossroads, where two paths divided. What if one was a dead end? What if she got lost? What if she got dirty??? Oh, perish the thought. Lyssa wondered if this really was the smartest of decisions. After all, what did she really know about traveling?

 Adventure was his middle name.
He had seen the forests and the mountains, the ocean and the plains. He had run as freely as he pleased, and had no siblings to outdo or parents to disobey. The only thing relatively close to a parent was the two-legger that had found his basket, and not long after, with his journey through the mountains, another that payed him more attention than the first. He didn't mind them, really. The first was often too busy to pay him much attention, though she constantly fawned over him as if her were still a baby. The second was more relaxed in his affection giving, but nevertheless, he was there more than the female. It often made him wonder, but he had no time to actually think on it, lately. His days were spent exploring what he hadn't yet explored and finding new friends.
It didn't take long for him to spot the brown and white spotted female. She was literally at a crossroads, and seemed completely lost, for all he knew. His ears tilted forward and his brow furrowed in though. Was she lost? If she was, he could probably lead her home, if she could point him in the right direction. He debated it for a while, and after seeing that she was, indeed, not going anywhere, gave a small shrug and began to trot towards her. What the hey, he could be useful. With a bright smile and a polite dip of the head, he stood opposite of her. "Hello, miss," he said, smile never fading. "Excuse me for saying, but you look downright lost. Do you need help?"
One might think he was experiencing a "damsel in distress." He thought of it as a chance to do a good deed.

Lyssa stood there for what seemed like hours, the hot sun bearing down on her, causing her usually lively curls to go limp in the heat. Whatever could she do? Feeling exactly like a damsel in distress, she stood at the crossroads and pouted, seconds away from hysterical tears...when he showed up.
Strapping, woodsy, and helpful to boot...he was an answer to prayer! Lyssa perked up immediately, sniffing a tad bit to recall the tears pooling in her eyes. "Oh, could you? I'm terribly lost...see, I'm supposed to be going on this grand adventure...but I don't even know where to begin!" She sighed, miserable already, at the very beginning of her travels. She couldn't help but think that maybe her sister was right, that she was too much of a girly girl to be an adventurer.

"Adventure?" he asked, tilting his head to the side slightly.
Why, she was a damsel in distress! Only, far from what he'd ever imagined the circumstances to be. Nevertheless, he watched as she dried her tears and stood for a moment, thinking. Adventure had always been what got him into trouble as a foal, and he'd walked into a few trees in his childhood, if he remembered correctly, but that two-legger had always been there to pat him on the head and tell him it was okay. She was the one who had played mother when he couldn't remember ever having one. The second two-legger was more of a friend than anything, really, though he was there only few and far between.
"Well, if you want adventure," he began, smiling, "I could take you to the mountains."
Briefly, he thought of how she might handle it. To get to the mountains, they would have to pass through the forest, which was prime Kalona territory, not that he knew. He had never met any other breed of Soquili, apart from land-bound, and so did not know that such fierce breeds lived. He thought for a while longer, before, carefully, he looked towards the sea. "Although, if you'd rather see the ocean, I could take you there, too.," he said, finally, with another smile in her direction. After a moment, he laughed at himself, and shook him head. "Oh, I'm sorry! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Jink. It's a pleasure to meet you." With this, he bobbed his head in greeting.
