I wanna know how you earned Gaia gold when you where starting out. why you ask...no reason...
anyways, when I started out I earned my first 1000 by (belive it or not) shaking trees and bushes in towns then I started selling tickets...

Collecting garbage and flowers in towns and selling in lots of 1000 or more. You used to be able to make a LOT more on that. Especially on paper bags and cans.
Selling paper cat ears. I used to sell white ones for 100 gold, blue for 120, yellow for 140 and they sold like hotcakes.
Doing jigsaw puzzles on the hardest setting. At least two per day.
Posting and polls. Voting in the arena. Selling everything that wasn't nailed down from the daily crap, etc.
The funny thing was that I made enough to buy all my initial quest items except Kiki this way. For Kiki....well, that's when I stumbled on to the wonderful world of vending mrgreen And Gaia has never been the same to me since.

BTW, this is why I have no sympathy at all for people who whine for handouts. I KNOW that if you put some effort into it and hustle a bit you can make quite a bit more gold than you think you could.

I'd also fish for hours and sell those fish back to the store, I wasn't too familiar with the exchange or the mp back then. n _n;

Back when you use to get 10 gold per poll, I would poll...A LOT.

When I first started in 2006 I would just post and poll and what not... then when I became good at fishing I would fish and sell them back to the market or make fish items.
I never had any huge quests because I thought it would be too overwhelming to quest for older collectibles... I would just purchase the newer donations as they came out. As I became more obsessed with gaia I started taking advantage of the cash shop and began pouring a lot of irl money into gaia to buy and hoard items to afford the more expensive stuff. >_>;

Well, the earliest things I remember doing was posting, voting and shaking trees down in town... and then I stunbled on the marketplace by realizing I can sell store items for more than half the price. Buying-and-selling only in the mp came afterward, and my little brother discored the exchange where he would repeatedly lose gold and gave me an idea to make even more than the mp alone offered... xD

I started out selling weapon art for 500g each. Then I went to avy art for 1k each. I started raising my prices to slow down demand. I now charge 50k average for my art. But I got in trouble a while ago and had to seriously cut back on the art. So I turned to vending for my main profit.

made an account 2 years ago.. left it alone. didnt get a trading pass and MP pass till 6 months, when my friends started playing gaia again.. i didnt even know what 'the town' was.. didnt participate in any of the events which btw could've made me rich, i think. i was " OMG!!!!!!!!WTFF!!!111111!!!1 YOU AREEE AWESOMMEME!!!!!111 SIRR!! 11" when i got my first donation of 2k6 halloween shoes and 1k.. i was an Ulti-N00b lol.

i started by selling, posting and shaking trees and bushes. i got gold but not that fast. then the gaia cash cards came out and i made money by buying those items and selling them.

I had joined in 2006 so i played puzzles mainly. Then, I started buying donations. Then Gaia Cash came out which ruined everything.
