Wow, he certainly hadn't been HERE in a while. Aiden pushed open the door to the Mansion, peering inside. Cosette, a little bigger now, was perched on his shoulder, claws slightly digging into the red silk shirt he was wearing. His hair, even longer now than before, was pulled back into a loose ponytail, with two chunks framing his face from where they had pulled free of their confines.
When he realized that it really hadn't changed much at all, he let out a small sigh of relief and moved inside. His skirt, longer than normal, was black, with pretty white lace hemming the bottom, and a white silk bow at the front. The boy really did adore wearing skirts, although pants that had lots of straps were just as cool. The one thing that wasn't so dainty about him were the clunky combat boots on his feet, steel-toed and all.
"It's just as quiet as always, Cosette." He murmured to the kitten on his shoulder. "I wonder if anyone's around."

It wasn't long after the red-headed preteen arrived when Archard poked his head into the mansion, wide-eyed, and a bit nervous. He could hardly remember the last and, up till now, only time he'd been in here. It had been a teeny bit intimidating. It had seemed to be full of older kids, save for a couple. It didn't take long for his inquisitive emerald eyes to land on Aiden. It did take him a moment to realize who it was.
"Aiden, is that you?" he stepped in through the big doors, smirking rather shyly as he approached the other boy. He actually looked a good deal better than last time. He had taken the time to put on a clean shirt(one of his favourite striped ones), and a pair of darker green kahki shorts. His soft blonde hair was neat and a small bag was hung over his shoulder.

Aiden turned around at the sound of his name, skirt twirling around his ankles and then settling once more. When he saw who it was, he smiled broadly, taking Archard in appreciativly. It had been far, far too long since he had seen any of his former friends. He had missed seeing all of them. Aiden was, after all, a creature that thrived off attention.
"Heya! Archard!" He walked towards the other boy quickly, and then stopped short of him, tucking his arms behind his back. "How are you? It's been a long time, hasn't it?" He had thought about giving the boy a hug, but they hadn't seen eachother in so long, and hadn't been that great friends to begin with.

Archard chuckled softly for a moment, observing his old aquaintence. He certainly did look fetching in his skirt, and didn;t seem to have changed much, in the way he seemed to enjoy fashion. It made Archard feel a bit silly, in his simple clothing. But oh well. At least Aiden had remembered him. That in itself had surprised Archard a little, but it was a pleasure nonetheless.
"It sure has! How have you been?" Archard set a hand on his bag. "Seems you haven't changed so much since last time." Archard smiled. "Just as well-dressed as I remember." Archard refrained from hugging as well, a bit too shy for such close contact with someone he didn't totally know. He was about to talk again when a little orange head poked it's way out of the bag, pushing the covering flap aside. The kitten mewled loudly, surveying the new surroundings.

To Aiden's eyes, Archard certainly looked a lot better than he had the last time they had been in contact. It still wasn't what the boy COULD be, but it was a definate improvement. His lips twitched slightly at the thought of a certain promise made but not fufilled, quite a long time ago. It amazed him that he remembered, but he did. He'd have to bring that up soon, he had really been looking forward to it when he was a kid for the sheer joy of shopping, and now...well, it would be nice to do something with someone that wasn't Audi or Wilder.
"I'm doin' pretty well. Mom just let me off a month's worth of house arrest, so I'm ready to DO something. I was bored out of my mind." He simpered at the compliment, grinning wider and dipping down into a sort of a curtsey, however clumsy it became by the aid of the boots. "Why thank you. It seems you've changed a bit. At least in the way you dress." Was that a smirk? Archard would never know, because in the next moment a joyful smile came to his face at the appearance of the kitten from the bag. "Oh!"
Cosette mewed in response to her fellow feline, peering down at it from her perch.

Archard had all but forgotten about that little promise, well, not on purpose, really. So much had happened since then, though. He had gotten slightly more interested in the way he dressed, borrowing ideas frome kami and others who lived in the house. But he never had dressed fancy, not like Aiden had. The fanciest(or at least most noticable) thing about him, perhaps, were the new bird feathers that were braided into a small gold lock, near the back of his head.
"Oh, that's good to hear. It must be nice to be out again....why would she put you on house arrest in the first place, anyway?" he asked, eyes innocent. The question was momentarily forgotten as he heard his friend's loud mewling, and gave a little chuckle. "Oh, Milo. I almost forgot about you..." he said, and retrieved the small orange tabby from the bag.
Milo was but a kitten, not very old. He settled into his master's arms, and peered up at he heard Cosette, reply with a softer, less demanding meow.

Aiden had somehow always known what he liked in terms of clothes. Living at Audi's just helped him along the path a little more quickly. One of his hands now toyed with the boy on top of his skirt while he peered at Milo with interest.
He realized that he had been asked a question about the punishment, and actually near blushed. "Well..." He took the kitty as a welcome distraction, leaning closer and stretching out a hand to it. "Wow, what an adorable kitten! Is it a boy or a girl?"
Cosette cocked her head to one side, content to stay on Aiden's shoulder.

And the distraction worked...or it would for the moment. Archard smiled, holding the little kitten out for Aiden to see. "He's a boy, his name is Milo. Kami's letting me take care of him. I see you have a kitty as well." he said, looking at the cat that was sitting on his friend's shoulder.
Milo mewed softly, sniffing at the hand a bit, but not protesting it's nearness. he liked to be petted, as long as it was gentle, with no tail or ear-pulling involved. He was a handsome little beast, almost like a little light-colored tiger.

Aiden looked down delightedly, letting the kitten sniff his fingers for a moment before gently petting him. "He's beautiful." At the mention of Cosette, he beamed and nodded. "Yeah. Her name's Cosette." Now that he was older, he was still in love with that book. He hadn't yet gotten around to reading the unabridged edition - Audi had it and it was HUGE - but he had seen the play once and the movie once. Total and utter adoration for that story.
Cosette, sensing that she was being talked about, straightened up and peered off into the distance majestically, causing Aiden to chuckle. "Though she doesn't act like Cosette so much anymore. She used to tho'."

Archard smiled. "She's gorgeous." he said, and observed her for a moment before looking back down at his own kitten, who shut his eyes and purred softly as Aiden pet him. Archard didn't recognize where the name was from, not yet, anyway.
"So what are you gonna do now that you're out of the house?" Archard said, forgetting the question he had asked earlier. Now that he thought of it, he realized it was probably a bit personal. No need to be nosey. He'd hate to have Aiden think negatively of him...

"Yeah, and doesn't she know it." Aiden chuckled, occupied with petting Milo. He was such a pretty tabby. The name was familliar to him...somehow. He couldn't quite remember.
That again. He laughed softly. "Oh, I dunno. Muck about, I suppose. Come here a lot more often. Just hang out." He intended also to do a bit of clubbing, but he needn't mention that part. "And what have you been up to?"

Archard hadn't named the kitten, though he thought the name was fitting enough. Kami had dubbed the little creature with the same name as a certain character from an old movie she had enjoyed as a child.
"Well, that's good...Me? Oh, nothing much." Archard held a dismal expression, for a split moment. Now that Mekt was gone, the house had become almost unbearably lonely. "I still love going outside. There are always new things to be found and explored in the forest...."

(Whee. *knows where Milo comes from* Otis is the dog, no?)
Aiden had grown enough that he caught that flicker of sadness, but it had been too fleeting for him to feel comfortable commenting on. He wondered what made him sad though, and felt a little bit sad himself. He'd have to think of a way to cheer Archard up.
He was faintly amused that the boy still liked the outdoors, smiling at that. "I can imagine. It sounds...nice."

"It's been getting a bit cold though. Kami doesn;t like me going out on rainy days." he said, smiling lightly as he rubbed the back of his neck. In response to a wriggling milo, he set the kitten down. He knew he wouldn't wander too far. The kitten ususally came when he was called. "You know, we should go and do something, sometime." he said, straightening up and burrowing his hands into the pockets of his shorts.

"Mmm." He liked rainy days, as had been stated a very long time ago. He just liked them when he was inside. "That's a pity." He pulled his hand back when the kitten was let down, and then watched him until Cosette clammered, in a few pitched mewls, to be let down as well. He crouched so that she didn't have to jump far, and then brought himself back up to his full height. At the mention of actually - gasp - doing something, he grinned. "Hey! That would be awesome!"
And he knew just what he thought they should do, too.
