Hey do any of you who have dogs every take them for rides in a car? Well my Shi-tzu LOVES riding in a car and LOVES hanging his head out the car window and catching some "air" About a week ago he fell out the car window. I was going about 35mps and not sure what exactly happened but he fell out the window, I skidded to a stop (in total panic) and he is alright. No broken bones just a lot of hurt pride and Yes he was pretty bruised up for a bit and sore all over for about a week. My dog (Max) is 13yrs old and I'm suprised that it didn't kill him. I learned a really valuable lesson that day and so did he. We don't do that anymore. He can catch some "air" with the window rolled down about 1/4 or 1/2 way and he doesn't have to be hanging out the window to do it. Please, don't allow your pet to do what I did. I never would have dreamed this would or could happen. I feel like a total jackass and would have felt even worse had he gotten killed.

I never let the window go too far down when my puppy is in the car cause of exactly that but thank goodness your dog is alright!
I never do that unless I'm in the passenger seat holding onto my dog . I'm glad your dog, Max was not injured in any serious way . Don't blame yourself, you learn from your mistakes . It's not like you wanted it to happen, dear .

whoa I'm glad your dog is ok! 3nodding With our dog he kept moving around trying to have a look at everything and jumping it's a must to close the window or else he'll fall out the window all the time sweatdrop

D: I'd be afraid to put the window down, my dog loves moving around the car and can be spastic sometimes, and would probably fall out of the window.
