So, let me say the basics, Phantom is neutral we take no sides because we are both light and dark but that dosen't mean we are stronger than anybody else, we are just as strong. Right. Our "purpose" is to maintain balance throughout the elements (like making sure Water doesn't put out all the Fire people.) by the way, Pure isn't necessarily "second", it's more like "less-active" due to her parental constraints. but it's ok!

So, let me say the basics, Phantom is neutral we take no sides because we are both light and dark but that dosen't mean we are stronger than anybody else, we are just as strong. Actually, Phantom isn't stronger in either of their elements of Light and Dark. The Dark elemental masters and apprentices are stronger in their element. So, Dark is stronger than phantom when it comes to Dark abilitys. And light is stronger when it comes to light abilitys. What makes it good, is that although it is less powerful using the element that the opponent is, it can use the other element to balance it out. For example. Lets say a Phantom and Light apprentice battled. In order to win, the Phantom apprentice would have to use Dark abilitys to be better affective against the light apprentice, since Dark is Lights only real weakness. Same for Dark, if a Phantom fights a Dark, the Phantom would use Light, Darks only weakness.
Now you see?

Plus it makes it fair! No. Blizzard said the Phantom element was less powerful in the elements. THAT'S fair. Because if they were equal in strength, then the Phantom element would be all powerful against both Light and Dark. If they were equal, there would be no need for the two other elements. Think about it. Phantom element study both elements, therefor don't have as much experience in the specific element like Dark or Light do. Dark elementalists study only dark elements, thefor they are much stronger in the dark elements than a phantom apprentice, who studies light also, taking time away from their specific studys. In all realism, Phantom is nothing. Because light and dark don't go together, so they cancel eachother out, so Phantom is basicly nothing.

Dark elementalists are better at Dark abilitys than Phantom. But they can counter it with Light. Did you read anything I wrote?? (And yes, Blizz did say in the very begining, before the guild opened that Phantoms weren't as strong in the two elements as the pures are.)

*sigh* Well, Blizz told me specificly also that we cannot be stronger than anybody else...we must be equal. He told me that - so yeah. Also I agree with Wok, without light there would be no dark. We study both, and Phantom is not nothing, we are something. Think of it as an Angel and a Devil - the Angel is the light, and the Devil is the dark, and in the middle, there is the neutral being. So the neutral being is something.
Anyways, besides that, lets figure out designated weapons. Then we can work with those.
