 Story
The Kingdom of Kokoro has been around for hundreds of years, the villagers living in peace. The current King of Kokoro had four sons, Haku, Haru, Akira, and Hiro. The brothers agreed that they would rule the kingdom together, and none of them would have more authority, or be more powerful than the other. However, to become the King of Kokoro, you must first be married, so the brothers also decided they would not get married until they all met the lady of their dreams, so they could get married on the same day. Their father always wished them to marry a lady of wealth and royalty, and the brothers had no objection to that, but the King was also struck with a terrible illness, one different than what the queen had. He was bed ridden, and would only have a few more weeks to live. Knowing this, the four brothers decided they didn't have time to meet ladies of royalty, so they went into the low class village to find a bride before their father died, so they wouldn't have to lose the throne. Will these brothers find love in time? Or are villager girls too low class for them?

Rules
1. Romance is greatly encouraged, but keep it PG-16.
2. Be literate. That means spelling and grammar. I hate when people don't know how to puncuate dialogue, just so you know. Example, this is what you SHOULDN'T do: "Hey there" said Alex. Also Don't Do this: "Hey there." said Alex. This is the correct way: "Hey there," said Alex.
3.Use (()) for OOC.
5. If you're going to join this rp then bookmark it, because it's going to be long term. If you don't post for one week, then I will delete you. If you have to leave for a while then tell me.
6. If you make a post with only OOC chat on it, then delete it once the person you were saying it to has replied to it. It helps keep the rp clean.
7.You have to give me a roleplaying sample
8.you have four days to post or you're out
9. I can, and probably WILL change these rules, so make sure you check back frequently.
10. Pm me your profile
11. Have fun and keep this roleplay alive! Please? heart

Read it and live it .Princes.The Leader- I was born as.. Hiro Kokoro Prefer to be Call.. Vance, Ro Many Year Ago... 24 12/07 I am... The leader Can't Live Without chocolate, my friends, my family, my quarterstaff, my poetry Rather go to hell... Being the leader all the time, cowards, cruelty, HOT weather, sycophants, boredom, and my brothers nagging me I act like... Calm person. Haru tries listen to people and keep people on an even temper. He is has a tendency to do exactly what he says. Many a power hungry noble, trying to scheme his way to power, has been tripped up my Haru's honesty. He is a decent quarterstaff fight and when Haru starts picking a fight, can usually fight him to standstill but can never beat him. Hiro, at heart, is a hopeless romantic. One of the things that has made him a natural leader is his innate understanding of people and his code of honor. He always puts those under his care before his personal well-being. Many a time has his father had to lock him in his room when he was sick because he was trying to help when ill. ((history/background)) Can't express.. The Fighter Can't Live Without Fighting, parties, good times, freedom, informality Rather go to hell... Depression, restraints, boredom, negotiations, formalities I act like... A brash person, Haru is known for his tendency to try and fight anyone, even his brothers. It's well known fact that he's one of the best fighters in the kingdom, and a great military strategist. In any other field regarding intelligence, however, he's known to be a tad thick-skulled. He's very stubborn, and will follow his path even if it's worse in the long run as long as he can. He hates surrender and will go down fighting. Although many think he's very prideful, he's really not, if anything he's wrathful and slothful. When he doesn't have anything interesting to do, he usually just lies about, irritating his brothers. Can't express.. [Airi kasuma will decide] Controlled by... In fact, I flirt with everybody I see, and if it's an old lady, it's a charm. not a flirty sentence. Okay I'm not some sick creep but almost everyone in the kingdom dreams about me. Even the guys. Because they hate me and wish that they were me. I'm pretty vain, and really...Kinda pathetic. But I have tons of brotherly love trapped inside of me! Right now my biggest love is chess. My younger brother taught me and it was pretty awesome. My favorite piece is teh Queen. She has to be the best chess piece ever and well, let's just say I'm her King every time! Okay so yeah...But really I do have a passion for the culinary arts! I'm only serious when it comes to relationships, and even then I play the field. Watch out world, here I come! Can't express.. He thinks he's above everyone around him, because of his intelligence, although anyone with half a brain would know that he wasn't. He doesn't like to try new things, nor does he like people interrupting him in the middle of his speech. He enjoys making his brother's confused, and when reading he is very relaxed and happy. I act like... Avalon is quiet and well...a loner like everyone says she is. Her love life isn't exactly sparking so she doesn't really speak to guys that much. Her family is poor, so all the other village girls don't usually take a second glance at her. Her life is the sort that makes people fall asleep before they talk to her because she can't really do anything about it. When she gets to know you though, she can be very kind, sweet, and gentle. The scars of the Past- Avalon was born into a poor family. They had hardly enough to get by and they worked their tails off. At a young age, Avalon was sent to work for a man who made weapons. Everyone thought that she'd be hopeless, her body was small and looked delicate and frail....she showed them wrong. She hated the fact that her body was so weak, it looked weak anyway. She was actually strong for her stature. She could help the ironworker and not tire until the day was done. When Avalon made any money at all, it usually went to her family and their needs like food and water. Avalon would usually get a hand-me-down novel from her mother. Her mother loved romance novels and so did she. Avalon would read them non-stop in hope that she'd one day live like the girls in the books. That was just fantasy though....Avalon sorely wanted someone to love and someone who would love her for her...not because she was poor or anything like that. Day after day, Avalon works for the ironworker and lives life day by day hoping that someone, somewhere would sweep her off her feet and take her someplace wonderful and beautiful. Can't express.. Normally, Anna's a good person, but every once in a while, she lashes out, usually when someone's in trouble. She can always find the best in people. Well, in everyone but herself. The scars of the Past- Orphaned at the age of three, Anna wandered around aimlessly, taking care of other orphans younger than her. When she was 6, she was found by a sailor. He accidentally knocked her into the water, but instead of sinking like an innocent, she floated easily. since then, she had been thought of as a witch, and had to hide often, for fear of being burned alive. When other little girls were thought of as witches, she would hide them in her house and take care of them. Whenever she goes to steal food for the children she cares for, she wears a hood to hide her identity. Still, she knows it's a matter of time before she is caught and burned. Can't express.. The Meek Can't Live Without Books, something to write or draw with, and my Dad. Rather go to hell... Then eat cole slaw, saurkraut, be around someone I can't stand, have nothing to do, or be forced to be something I'm not. I act like... I'm quiet, very quiet. I like to keep to myself and away from others. I can come off depressed to other people, and I suppose I am. I'm really shy truthfully, but sometimes I act arrogant and sarcastic; but that's mostly because my sense of humor is sarcastic to begin with and I act arrogant mostly as a shield to keep people away. I'm rather nice if you take the time to get through my shell, or I decide I trust you and let you in. I'm stubborn and independant, I want to prove that I can do things on my own, and I have a bit of pride that chooses random times to become a problem for me. I do have a bad temper, though, but I keep it under control rather well. The scars of the Past- My family's always had to struggle hard to get by, my mother resorted to stealing and my father did hard manual labor; my older brother and I did everything we could to help them. My mother got arrested once when she got caught, and she was in prison for a few years because of this; she didn't want me staying with two males because she was scared of me becoming a tomboy, so she sent me to live with her mother and sisters. While I was living with them, I learned quickly why my mother became a thief in the first place: they were all thieves. My grandmother and aunts were violent and cruel, taking out all of their anger and hate on me; they beat me and tortured me in every sense of the word. They told me horriable things and they made me watch horriable things, my only escape from them was in my own little world. I would read anything I could because it helped me focus on something else, and I drew constantly on anything I could hide from them. When my mother got out of prison, she came and got me, and we went home together; I thought everything would be alright after that because I was home again, but it only got worse. My brother got caught selling illeagal objects, and he almost went to jail except they turned out to be fakes, then he ran away and got married and had a kid: he was only three years older than me. My mother died when I was fourteen, and only a year later Dad replaced her with a woman who complains all the times and screams at me. Since then Dad has lost his job, and it's fallen on me to take care of my family, sometimes I feel like the preasure is litterally killing me. Can't express... She is a bit childish and when i mean a bit..it means mostly. She is smart than she acts because she loves to see the reaction of the people who thought she wasn't sharpest tool in the tool boxes. She loves to make and eat desserts and absolutely loves to make others happy even if she can't be. She is strong-willed yet is kind. Animals are attracted to her which is weird. She doesn't reallly have any wisdom on men.She is really clumsy and accidental-pro. She has another a weird eye condition which makes her eyes change into the color of what she feels The scars of the Past- Many have sad stories, bad childhoods. Many think it makes them stronger. It's true as they say. Mitsuki or Mizuki or Mika as she likes to be called, had an awful start like some unlucky beings. The hour she came into life, another left it. Her mother, who was originally Mitsuki, had died from child labor being a weak soul. Toward his unfortunate event, At age 4,Mitsuki's father went mentally insane and becoming a heavy alcholic. Before her father could do harm to poor little Mitsuki, her grandparents took her. Mika used to lived in the castle because her grandfather was a best friend of the former king((The Kokoro's grandfather)) and was a general. When she turned 6, they bought an inn and she works there. [M]itsuki [A]lexandria [A]stra <3 ((I'll start it))
A huge field of flowers were surrounded by the forest that's trees circled the field. A figure was in the middle of the field. The figure had the frame of a seventeen year old girl with lite purple hair that blew in the light bleeze. Her name was Mitsuki .Mitsuki was sitting in the middle of a field of flower. She usually is wake before other people are,so she didn't have to be around other people. She lived a quiet life and mostly no one noticed her because when she was a child, she never played with any of the children. She would usually be in the forest playing with her animal friends. She didn't play or talk to other people because she didn't know how to approach them. She was scared that they'll call her a weird person and make fun of her.
Mitsuki had heard someone or something make a noise. Out of nowhere, a reddish tan Belgian Hare appeared from the forest ground. "Rushia"Mitsuki yelled excited to see her friend the rabbit named Rushia raced towards her and landed in Mitsuki's arms. "I've been looking for you,"she told the rabbit as her eyes changed into the color lite yellow to show her happiness.

Blame it on me... Set your guilt free...
Anna stared at her left hand, the one with the missing thumb. She hadn't told a lot of people, just the girls, but once she had been caught stealing and her thumb was cut off for it. At least a full bag of rice was in the shack all 27 of them lived in.
Yes, 27 girls, including her, ranging in all ages between 5, Illia, and 23, herself. The oldest other than her was 17. There was her, Illia, Elizabeth who was 13, Ryu who was 17, Poppy, who was 6....
The 27 took care of each other. But, Anna knew, soon she would have to leave. Once Ryu was 20, it would be Ryu's turn to be eldest, to take care of them all. That was how it always worked. Once you were 20, the eldest would leave and give up their spot for you.
All 27 girls were girls who had been accused of being witches and almost burned at the stake. Anna had fallen into water and floated. Mari (age 15) had talked to a doll. Elizabeth attracted cats. Ryu was interested in the topic of dragons and snakes. Poppy would plant something and it would grow abnormally fast....
All sorts of things made the girls seem to be witches. Some of them even admitted to it, though they didn't know what they were talking about.
Anna's thoughts were broken when Mari rushed into her room, blond ponytails unable to catch up to her.
"Anna! Mari hear that princes are coming!"
Anna looked at the panicked girl. "Don't worry, Mari, they won't come here. We live in the middle of a forest in the middle of no where. Even if they decide to go hunting or something, they won't come near here." Then she blinked. "Who told you?"
Mari smiled, then blinked. "Ryu told Mari."
"Ugh...looks like she's going into town. I'll have to go talk to her about that." Anna stood up. She had been sitting on the floor where she slept. At night, she liked to pretend it was a cozy feather bed with soft pillows. Her family had been rich before they had gotten trapped in a burning house with no chance of survival...
Sorry, lost my train of thought.
Anna walked over to Ryu. "Ryu, please, don't go into town. It's dangerous."
I don't wanna hold you back now love

Mika looked up at the light blue sky, and decided it was time. She got up from where she sat with Rushia in her arms. "I have to hurry or else, Lola will be angry with me,"she said as she held snug on the rabbit and ran to the forest. She was usually like this. She started her day by going to her field to see the flowers she had tended a year ago on which was once a barren and dry field. She was proud of what she had done and was extremely delighted when animals started to arrive making their way to see the site. It was her hiding place, a world away from reality. And she liked it that way. She emerged out of the forest and ran down to the nearby village where she had lived for most of her live.
It was rather unusual for the village to have all this ruckus but as she involunteeraly evansdropped, she heard the Prince were coming. She couldn't care less because she knew she didn't have a chance, there where more beautiful women in the village. Mika arrived at the footsteps of a building. It had a sign that read. Moonlight Manor. Her family's inn. "I'm HOME!!!" she yelled as she opened the screen paper door and took off her shoes.

Avalon woke up bright and early like she usually did. She got ready by taking a quick bath and a change of clothes into her usual white dress and apron for the ironworkers. She came out of her room and walked into the kitchen were her mother was busily cooking breakfast for her and her father.
"No thanks mother, I'll be okay." Avalon kissed her mother's cheek and grabbed her bag full of tools and gloves. "I'm going to be late if I don't go soon and if I'm late then I'll get docked on my pay." she smiled, her mother hated it when she pulled that on her.
"Okay Ava, but please...eat something will you?" Her mother smiled, the wrinkles around her mouthline were clearly visible.
Avalon smiled, nodded, then left the house. She walked over to the stables where she found her beautiful mare, Zroa. Petting her nose, and feeding her a carrot, Avalon strapped on the saddle and climbed up, still managing to be lady-like about it.
"Come now Zroa, we must be speedy, I'll be late if you don't." Avalon spoke into Zroa's ear and kissed the side of her face.
Zroa neighed once and took off with great speed down the dirt path that took her all the way into town. As she passed by farms and mines, Avalon waved to the people she knew, most of them were friends of her parents...she didn't really have any of her own. When she reached the outskirts of town, Avalon slowed down to a slow trot. Her eyes scanned the merchant tents until she found the one that she belonged to. The man who owned the tent smiled at her and beckoned her in to start her work. Pulling on her gloves, Avalon got started on a sword, custom made for a prince. He had ordered it and asked that it be made in haste but that the quality would still be to standards.
"Yes sir, and sir...might I go home early today?" Avalon asked shyly, she didn't like to ask for her days to be cut short.
"I'm sorry Avalon...as much as I believe you deserve it...we'll be short handed today. I'm sorry my dear." He appologized and got back to his work.
"No problem..." Avalon mumbled as she grabbed the hammer that hung down from a tool rack.
She began hitting the hot iron, the sparks flying everywhere. It was hot in the pit where she worked, as the ladies walked by, with beautiful gowns and nice jewels, Avalon worked her days away. One lady even walked up to her and called her a useless wreck and said that she should just stay inside her house and die there.
"But...then I shall never find love...." Avalon whispered beneath her breath, that was all she ever wanted anyway. Avalon never asked for much, all she really wanted was someone to love her....someone who would love her and would look beyond the fact that she was poor.
"Somethings...just aren't possible..." Avalon pulled on her face mask and resumed beating the prince's sword.

Her legs were killing her. All Kit could focus on was the cramping in her legs from being bent down and curled up for so long, not that her hands were any better in the situation nor her back; when you've been scrubbing floors all day you tend to ache all over. Current job of the day was to scrub the walls of some rich lady or anothers house, she didn't even ask their names anymore, and then to scrub down the floors; obviously Kit had completed job number one. Once a week she would have to come back and do it all over again, but it was another job added to the list of jobs she was carrying in her apron pocket, and the more jobs she had the more money to support her family.
Still, when she was all alone by herself like this she couldn't help but long for a day when she wouldn't have to work so hard. "What do they do with themselves all day?" She wondered aloud to herself on the subject of people who didn't have to work at all. Kit herself couldn't imagine at all never working, but it was easy to imagine what it was like when she was little and she only had one job. She let out a long sigh as she finished up the floor, and then she stood up, groaning slightly and struggling to stay on shaking legs. She yiped slightly as she almost fell back down, but then she merely laughed and clinged to the table for balance until her legs woke back up. "That was a close one!" She laughed to herself, but then she frowned. "I think this being alone all the time is making me insane... Look at me! I'm talking to myself!" Kit laughed again, albiet a bit bitterly, and she shook her head to chase away the thoughts.
Carefully she tested out her legs and balance, and once the world stopped wobbling under her, Kit hefted the bucket of dirty water up and made her way outside to pitch the water out. Seeing as there was no one around at the moment to hear her talking to herself, all of the servants had been ordered out of the kitchen to give her room to scrub the floors by herself, Kit allowed herself to start talking out loud again just to break the silence. "If I didn't have to take care of Dad I'd probably just run off into the woods and never come back... I'm sure I could take care of myself pretty alright. I've read books on plants before, and I've been blessed with an immunity to poison oak and ivy," She mumbled to herself, waddling slightly under the weight of the water. Kit shifted, taking a stance to be able to fling the bucket, and then she swung it forward, sending the dirty water flying across the flower beds. It was just dirt, lemon juice, and water, so she didn't see why it shouldn't go to good use. "And then there was that weird incident where those deer tried to following me the last time I ran away from home... Yes, I'm positive. I could live on my own out in the woods and be happy!" And with that final thought Kit drifted off into a daydream.
As she moved all the furniture back and cleaned up after herself, Kit was immersed in a world where she was clad only in the bare essentials, too much clothing would get caught on branches and such. Mostly she was drawing from the four times in her life she'd ran away from home, the last incident had been when she was thirteen. She would live in the woods, foraging for edible plants and hunting birds and rabbits when she needed meat, but at the thought of eating a rabbit she frowned. Just last year she'd a rabbit bounce right up to her in the middle of the street, lucky for her it was about 5 am and no one else was awake to hear her yelling at the rabbit to bounce itself right back into the woods; the last thing Kit needed or wanted was for someone to think she was a witch... though... Kit herself was having doubts on that.
There were a lot of skills she had that she kept to herself, like the fact that she could read faster than she could talk, that she could write clearly and fluently, and that she could draw anything from memory. Of course there were other, worse, skills she had; such as the fact her brother had taught her how to swim when she was three, the fact she could lie, cheat, steal, and manipulate people if she had to, and then there was the fact that most wild animals didn't seem to think of her as human at all by the way they treated her. Kit knew that if she ever met anyone like herself she'd probably be wondering if they were a witch, but instead of being upset she just smiled to herself and began making her way upstairs to get her payment for the day; maybe the real witches were the ones no one ever suspected of being witches, and that eliminated her right away. "How did I get from thinking about running away from home to thinking about witches?" She asked herself with a confused sigh; now, however, Kit had an urge to curl up at home with a story about magic and read herself to sleep.
Once upstairs Kit stopped outside the study door and smoothed her hair back, brushing the dirt and wrinkles out of her skirt, and then she knocked softly and called out in a voice just as soft. "Ma'am? It's Miss Kincaid. I'm here for the pay-" She cut herself off as the money was slid under the door. "Ment... Thank you, ma'am!" She called, a confused and rather flustered look on her face. Kit bent and picked the money up, sliding it under her apron pocket with a sigh. "Off to my next job then..." She whispered to herself under her breath, and then wearily Kit made her way to the next house that had hired her for the day. She let out another long sigh, groaning at the thought of having to pull all those weeds; still, a jobs a job right? "I'm going to be an old maid before I'm twenty." Kit groaned softly to herself, causing an actual nearby old maid to laugh. Blushing, Kit left the house, swearing silently to herself to stop talking outloud to hersel, though she knew she would probably be talking outloud to herself in an hour.

Those who lose money, lose much Those who lose friends, lose much more
Anna and Ryu scurried along on the village streets dressed in black woven cloaks with hoods. They weren't going to win any beauty pageants in those, but they had seen several other villagers wearing them some time ago, and had worn them ever since. After 4 years of wearing something else, it seemed to be catching on and growing in popularity. Now old maids, thieves, your regular poor and witches wore them, and it was impossible to tell the difference. It was calming, in a way, to be sure you could just say you were a regular poor, or an old maid, whenever someone asked you. Not that they did anymore. Too many women were becoming old maids that the robe was most of the town. It was weird, but there it was.
Sorry, lost my train of thought(again).
Anna and Ryu were scuttling down the street to look for other girls. They did this often, looking for other girls who had been falsely accused of witchery. They usually ended up in prison(looking for girls there), but they didn't need to go today. Actually, Anna noticed a girl on a horse who entered a blacksmith and didn't come out. Intrigued, the two girls looked down so their hoods cast a shadow over their faces, and entered the blacksmithing shop.
It was hot and muggy in the shop. If Anna had a fan she would have whipped it out and used it, but none of the girls had the luxury of a fan, and neither did she. Instead, she walked near the blacksmithing workshop to see a girl plugging away at a sword. She looked tired, sweaty, hot, and very exasperated, as though the sword she was making wasn't coming out right.
"Ryu, stay here and keep an eye on this." Then Anna left, in search of other girls. On her ever so fabulous hunt, she walked straight into a girl with blond hair, who had just said 'I'm going to be an old maid before I'm twenty.' And when I say walked straight into her, I mean walked straight into her.
Both girls fell to the ground, and Anna was well aware that her hood was off. She just hoped this girl didn't recognize her. After all, she had been accused of a witch 17 years ago...it didn't seem likely that this girl would have been old enough to care then, right? "Ma'am? Are you OK? I'm soo sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going!"
Those who lose faith..... ...Lose all.

For one brief moment, Kit was still in the process of swearing to herself not to think outloud again, and then she in the sudden surprise of full body contact with a complete stranger who seemed to be running. She let out a yipe that any small canid would be proud of, and then she was flying backwards, suspended in air and weightless. There was another moment where Kit found herself thinking, to herself for once: 'This kind of feels like deja vu...' and then she was dumped unceramoniously by the air, who apparently found her too heavy to hold up, onto her butt. The jarring of the ground sent a jolt up her spine, popping a crick out of it and causing her brain to go into brief shock. Caught in this state she couldn't decide weither to be amused, embarrassed, or angry; but as was per usual in Kit's case the gentler emotions won out when prompted by the thought of how the other person would be feeling at the moment, that and the fact they were actually aplogizing and inquiring how she was doing.
She forced herself out of her own reality and back into the so called real one, forcing her mind to grasp hold of and focus on the older woman in front of her. 'She's pretty,' came one quite random thought, followed quickly by, 'I like her cloak.' We never said that Kit had the most normal thoughts in the world, though it can be stated that she does tend to have long trains of thought. This often results in her getting completely off subject and stating something that doesn't seem to make sense, but would be completely logical if everyone else knew just what thoughts were going on inside her head. Most notably would be the string of thoughts in this case, dancing quickly from her appearence, which she decided looked slightly sad, to her words, analizing them and then realizing that the other woman believed this to be fault, when in truth Kit had been too emersed within her own mind to take notice as well. Of course, upon realizing it was her fault, she had an initial reaction to apologize as well and state as much, but then she found a sort of common ground between the two and took that instead.
"It's alright. If you think about it, we both weren't watching where we were going," She blushed slightly in embarassment, her voice soft and shy, very kind but also very embarrassed. She half giggled/half chuckled nervously about the situation and switched her balance from her butt to her feet in a move that took her quickly from sitting to standing. "Besides, you did me more good than harm. After being bent over all day, I really needed that." She smiled lightly and ducked her head, shooting her hand out so the other woman could grab hold of it if need be. Silently from her ducked state she watched the other woman, studying her face and her features carefully. She'd been taught quite harshly how to judge people from first glance, and she didn't feel anything particularly bad; but that didn't, however, mean that she was going to open up right away.
The slightly nervous little smile on her face, the softness of her voice, and blush in her cheeks, added to the ducked over state she was in, added to the general look about Kit that she was either very sad or scared of the world, both of which were true. "I'm really sorry about that, are you alright?" She asked, and then she realized what she'd just asked. She laughed nervously to herself and voiced out loud her thoughts, even after swearing a moment ago not to anymore. "Listen to me, telling you it's alright and then doing the same thing. How much stranger do I get?" She flinched slightly at the question, both from the fact she had asked it out loud and from the fact it was hypothetical even to herself and might earn her a strange reply. The sum of Kit's thoughts on the matter? 'I'm an idiot.'

How do you row Cold and alone again?
Anna let herself be helped up, worried by the girls' age and the fact that she seemed to already be a worker. "Ah, floor cleaning, eh? I did that for a while. Then I decided that I didn't really want to be a crazy old woman with a broken back when I grew up." Anna blinked and let what she had just said run through her mind again. "Oh dear. That sounded offensive, didn't it? Well, my specialty is children, not the elder. Why am I telling you this? You probably have enough to worry about without me prattling off in front of you."
Anna laughed at Kit's statement of her strangeness. "Oh, I've seen many a stranger than you. You needn't worry, you're fairly usual." She knew it was hypothetical, so she didn't really answer it. She just kind of....commented. And when she said 'stranger', she was kind of refering to herself and the 26 other 'witches'. Which none of them were. Just to point it out. Hey, it was worth mentioning that they didn't deserve to be burned at the stake.
Sorry, lost my train of thought(Yet again).
"Anyway." Anna brushed off her cloak, although it already had 4 years of wear and tear on it, so it didn't look much different without the dust. "If you ever need help, a sanctuary, as some would call it, our house always has open doors." She pointed in the general direction of the shack like home. It was a place in the middle of the woods, so you could leave the actual shack to be alone, or go on the roof. There was a clearing nearby, to see the stars at night. And if you just needed to cry on someone, there were 27-no, 54-open shoulders to use. That was why all the girls considered it a sanctuary.
Anna smiled at the girl again. "Please, if I've bothered you, just ignore me. I'm not around often." She gave her parting words, and headed back onto her original path. She wondered if Ryu was alright back in the blacksmithing shop. She probably was. She was a tough girl. Heat didn't bother her.
Can this be what You really wanted baby?

((Hey, the song goes: Out on your own, cold and alone again. Just thought I'd let you know. I have the CD with the lyrics book.))
Kit watched in partial curiosity and partial fascination as the other woman walked away, her mind spinning the words around in her brain. How strange she'd been imagning running away, and now some slightly odd woman had indicated the woods as a place to go if she needed sanctuary. She smiled slightly at the thought of being "fairly usual" and turned away to begin her walk on to the next place. The thought of being normal was almost funny. How could one be normal when they hid so many secrets? So many special skills? How could one be normal with a family like hers? At the thought of family she groaned slightly and touched her back. It was true she would probably get a bent spine from all of this work. How she wished she could just quit, but she had her Dad, her brother, her nephew, and her sister-in-law to all support. Sure, her brother worked, but no one else in her family did now.
She let out a sigh, walking slowly along the street, vaugely watching the other people walking by as she was lost in her thoughts. She knew she was probably going to be late, but she didn't really care. She was too absorbed in thoughts of her family. Christoff could barely do his job, and little Christian needed better food than what he was getting now so that he could grow up strong like his father had done. When they were little they had had to work hard for what they had, but they had had enough money they were never hungry. It broke Kit's heart to see her nephew hungry, and more often than not she gave up her food to him and ate food from the kitchens where she worked; she'd managed to convince most of her employers that she worked better with food on her stomach, so she ate there and brought food home for Christian as well. It was working so far, but she had a bad feeling he would probably get sick soon like his mother. Maya didn't have a very good constitution, and while Christian was healthy now he might have inherited her weak immune system.
Immersed in these thoughts, Kit barely registered the fact that people around her were whispering excitedly until someone whispered the word "Princes" almost directly into her ear. She jumped in surprise, snapping out of her mind and back into the real world, grey eyes wide in shock. 'Who said that?' She turned her head to the right where she heard the whisper, stopped in mid step. An old woman with a hunched over spine and dark gray hair scraped back into a bun, almost like a future version of Kit herself, was talking with an older man who was most likely her husband. "That's right, Jiro. I heard it meself. The Princes are all supposed to be coming here." She announced proudly, causing the man, Jiro, to hush her. "Keep it down, Kohana. Those are just whispers and rumors. There's no truth there..." He whispered, but the damage had already been done; Kit had heard and had drifted off into her mind again and she restarted on her journey to the other house.
What would the Princes want? Why were they coming? What were they thinking? What's the motivation? Why here? She frowned lightly and tried to consider all the angles, her eyebrows furrowed deeply over her eyes. Perhaps they were in need of servants? Perhaps she could get a job in the castle and be able to support her whole family? Or maybe they would hire her father to build something for them? What did they need, it all depended on what they needed. She let out a long sigh and reached up to smooth her hair back down, a kind of reflex from when she used to wear it down and would run her fingers through it. What would it be like if she did live and work in the castle? She smiled slightly now, thinking about how she would probably get a better dress, since most upper class people perfer their servants to look better than normal working class. She'd probably still work just as hard, but for more pay, and she might even get a room to sleep in at night.
Slowly the more romantic side of Kit's nature began to take over her realistic daydream, suddenly it wasn't just enough to simply work there, suddenly she was imagining bumping into one of the Princes. There would be one of those freezing of time moments, a love at first sight moment, and they'd start to try to run into each other just to see one another. Kit giggled to herself, blushing, as she slipped in through the servant's entrance. It would never happen, it could never happen, but it cheered her up and would probably be her daydream all through the rest of the day; and with something like that on her mind, the work would probably come easier and go faster.
