So we should all know that domestic violence is a bad thing, but what can we do to try and stop it? What are your thoughts on domestic violence, and feminism, should we continue to try and make people more aware of it? or should we give up and go another path?

As a feminist, I believe we should continue to educate people about domestic violence, and teach people what to do when it happens to them or others around them. We need to teach people that the male isn't dominate over the female, and that there are things that can be done to stop domestic violence.

It all starts with education. From a young age, children should be taught about how to treat other people, the differences between good actions and bad actions, and how violence is wrong. Some kids come from abusive homes, so sometimes violence and abuse are engraved in their minds as normal. The education needs to continue all the way till high school, especially when teenagers are at the dating age, where they will try to do anything to be accepted by others.

I'm fine with feminists untill they get too out of hand(same thing for all other groups) yes need to teach more about domestic violence Although you could tell people males dont dominate females i bet i could find you 10people in my school alone that completely disagree point being it will still happen

Our current government really loves advertising so we have this campaign against domestic violence going on. Video. Feminism is way too broad a term. I'd say I'm a liberal feminist, but there are some strands of radical feminism which are just...ugh.

The bad news...its always going to happen, its an unfortunate part of society, but the good news is that most who abuse, were not educated, but conservatives would hate it because itd be "The government interfering with our childrens character, and that it should be taught at the home" Liberals say "Do you expect every parent to do it on the GOPs orders...I didnt think so...."

A good example of that stereotype not fitting is well... me, I'm male and Feminism is a subject that I'm extremely passionate about. And just because people might disagree that women shouldn't be treated equal doesn't mean they aren't. That's the problem males do not dominate females, it doesn't matter what peoples opinions are on it, women are people as are men we are all equal, and no one dominates over anyone else.

I disagree with the philosophy that men and women are equal. They just aren't. A man is not a woman, and a woman is not a man. Not to say one is better than the other. I was raised to hold women in high respect by default. That does not mean I think they are better than me. I actually happen to think that no one is better than me, but I digress.
I hold to the idea that my wife and myself are one being. We may have our inner turmoil, but we don't beat ourselves up. That's just crazy. And wrong. I agree that we need to educate children on how wrong domestic abuse is and ways around taking such action.

This is more of a curiosity thing. As for domestic violence I believe it is a very real problem and one that needs to be addressed.

From what I know I am interested in individualist feminism and would like to look more into Marxist feminism.

It is something I should look at doing, in that I agree. Although at the moment I am needing to put more of my time on my current studies.
