Zsinor looked up to the sky, it was already gold with the setting sun's final warmth. All around her the cicadas and frogs were beginning their night songs while everything else remained quiet. The shadows around her were cast in unusual ways, darkening the otherwise bright landscape, and a large gust of wind swept through the area, blowing leave and small branches with it.

Paris closed his eyes as he enjoyed the cool breeze rippling through his fur as he sped across the sky. He had just fed, so he was feeling quite content. "Hmmm," he sighed as he took a deep breath. Then suddenly a familiar scent caught his attention. He stopped and hovered, feeling a strange feeling. "Zsninor..." he breathed. He knew he should not search for her and simply head home where he could cause no harm. But he couldn't resist. He flew down and landed softly and began to follow her scent.

Zsinor looked around for some berries on the ground, almost making a game of dodging the leaves and branches. She leaned down to eat a stray raspberry when her ears twitched up and she lifted her head to the air, her nose twitching. She was sure Paris was around here, but she was unsure if she wanted to meet with him at this time of the day.

Paris finally spotted her in the distance, picking berries. He slowly approached her, being careful to stay in the little light that was left. He bowed low in greeting as he came nearer. "Good evening, Zsinor." He watched her expression carefully.

Zsinor looked over as Paris neared her, she scanning him with her large eyes. He seemed to be like his usual self, and that reassured her. Her face remained emotionless as usual as she replied in her whispery soft voice, "Evening..."

Paris smiled lightly. She was the same as he remembered. She didn't seem to be angry or scared. That gave him confidence. "How have you been?" he said in a soothing voice. He stopped a few yards away from her so as not to be caught in the shadows.

Zsinor turned her body so that she could giver her full attention to Paris instead of the loudening noises around them. She watched him avoid the shadows, and wondered how long it would last until he changed once more. She always felt like something would go wrong if that happened again, but she didn't know why. "Fine..." She replied.

"Very good," he smiled. "Some weather we're having." He looked around at the debris blowing by. "Maybe you should head inside somewhere safe." He nodded, feeling genuinely concerned for her safety. He knew he couldn't stay long. He didn't want to endanger her.

Zsinor looked around at the leaves and twigs that blew. She felt that no harm would come from them, and didn't see a point in moving. "No..." she said, refusing his request of her to move.

Paris' expression turned to one of confusion and worry. "If the wind picks up any more, it would be hurricane type winds." He paused and sighed, not look directly at her. "I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that you're out here in this all alone and unprotected."

Zsinor was confused as well, although it didn't show. Why would he care in the least what happened to her? It was all so confusing that she decided to just answer him. "Bush..." she said as she walked over to the bushes and jumped in the one she often called home. She stuck her head back out to look at Paris.

"I guess I have no choice but to accept your solution." He frowned. "Although I can't say I like it. I'm still...worried." He sighed and took a step backward. "I suppose this means I should be going."

Zsinor didn't want him to go, but she was beginning to understand what would happen if it got too dark out. He would change, and she didn't like that. She pulled her head into the bush, muttering out, "goodbye" from it.

Paris sighed as he leaped into the air. He was about to fly off, but he stopped. He landed again and, against his better judge, he approached her. He silently moved until he was next to her. He gently put his paw around her and pulled her in for a hug. He wasn't totally aware of what he was doing until he had done it. He blinked, surprised at his actions, wondering what had come over him.

Zsinor was genuinely surprised when Paris re-landed and approached her again, and even more so when he hugged her. She let herself be hugged, not able to understand herself at that moment. Dark instinct deep within her was threatening to come out, and it was fighting with her rationality as she remained silent.
