The male jackal had gotten far enough away from his crazy sister, that he felt he was safe enough to lay down and rest for a while. It had been nearly a week of crusading off into the savanna. For all he had known, his sister could have been on his heels the entire time. The jackal was so tired, but he couldn't sleep. His dreams haunted him, he could see the future. At least, he thought he could. After all, the reason for him running way from his sister, was that he dreamed she would get killed by lions. He didn't want to get killed by lions too, just because of his foolish sister.
With a sigh, he dull green eyes looked around. Hoping he would find something to drag him away from his thoughts. If only for a second.

Keefa looked up at the night sky. Her form was a graceful silhouette against a sea of twinkling stars. She had never been entirely sure what they were. Perhaps those lights were just glow flies, or perhaps they were something more. Is that what you become when you die?
She twitched an ear and shook the questions from her head. Those answers would come some day, long down at the end of the road. She hoped that road would be long indeed.
The young lioness gave a great roaring yawn. Certainly, the quiet of the night was getting to her.

The jackal hadn't even noticed that there was a lioness only several yards away from him until that very second. Flicking his ears nervously, he pretending she wasn't around and minded his own business. But then he looked back at her and the future hit him like a rock in the face. The future seemed good for this lioness, she would have cubs eventually. That's all that Quazi could see for now, but he did see a sandy lion in his thoughts as well. The father? Perhaps.
Quazi had no intentions of telling her, she would never know he was a seer anyways. She probably hadn't even noticed him.
Heaving a sigh, he glanced over at her again. Man, he couldn't hold it back. He had to tell her, it just seemed right.
"Hello? Miss?" The jackal tried to sound as nice as possible and as gentleman-like as possible.

"Hmmm...?" she said, turning slightly where she sat. Keefa felt no need to be frightened. Surely this other was too small to eat her. Besides, he seemed a bit nervous himself. An olive colored ear flicked sharply. A content smile showed in her eyes. What did he want, however? Did she have something stuck to her fur?

Deciding he should get closer, he walked slowly to her. The lioness didn't seem to be too threatening, the jackal was in luck.
"Beautiful night out, isn't it?" He said, glancing up at the sky, and back to her.
Quazi had no idea why he was randomly approaching this lioness about her future. But he couldn't help himself. It seemed like it was the right thing to do after all. Who wouldn't want to know their future?
"My name's Quazi."

"My name is Keefa," she said warmly. "It is a beautiful night." The female glanced back up at the stars. Looking back to him, she realized he wasn't finished. With yet another flick of the ear she spoke, "You have something to tell me?"

The jackal gave the lioness an odd look. "Something to tell you...yes! I mean. If you want to know. I can tell you your future."
How odd it must be for her for him to approach like this. In some cases, jackals and lions weren't friendly with each other at all. Like his crazy sister for instance.
"At least...I think I know the future. Sometimes it's good news, sometimes it's bad. But for you. Just one look at you and I could see something wonderful about you. Would you like to know?" The jackal's words seemed rushed and nervous, but he continued to stay close to the lioness.

She gave the other a quizzical look. What could this other have to say? "You..." She paused. Surely, there must be some bug crawling up her back for sure. She stood quickly, arching her back. The lioness looked behind her and saw nothing. Ears fell flat as she lowered her head, squinting hard at the other. "...what is this news?"

Closing his eyes, the jackal sighed. Thinking carefully about what he had seen. Cubs, this lioness would be having cubs one day in the near future. With a...a golden lion with a cream colored mane. Hoping she wouldn't lunge at his throat, the jackal gave the lioness a nervous smile.
"You're gonna be a mom. The dad will be a gold furred lion with a light colored mane." Cringing a little, Quazi cowered, anticipating one of her mighty paws landing on his face.
But perhaps she would be happy with the news he'd brought her.

"What?!?" She said. "Oh, no-no-no." It couldn't have been...
The lionesses mind swung back to a few hours before. The dreamy parting with Gouta. How she could barely control herself. That couldn't have been...
"You must be mistaken." She paused again, looking somewhat worried. "A-are you sure? How do you know?

The small jackal nodded, at least she wasn't acting violently towards him. Unaware of what had just happened to the lioness, he shrugged.
"Congratulations?" Babies were supposed to bring happy times, right?
How did he know? He wasn't sure himself. The images had formed in his mind, and the next second, he knew he had to deliver the message to her. Might as well just call him the crazy jackal messenger.
"I just...I know. Okay. I'm a seer...or at least, I think I am."

"You... think you are? And what's a see-ayr, anyways?" She plopped her read back down, and looked to the stars. If I was... no.. i couldn't be. But what if I am? I'm not ready for babies!

"Well...you can believe me or not." Quazi stated, with a sigh. "I can see the future. That's what a seer is."
Cocking his head to the side, Quazi looked at the lioness curiously. She didn't seem to be too happy about the news.
"Don't worry miss, this guy may not stick around. But! Love is in your future. You will have a happy family."
Oh, was he not supposed to mention that this male lion wouldn't stick around? Oopsies.

"WHAT?!?" *her paws started to shake. "Are you saying that not only am I going to be having cubs but I will be doing it on my own!!!" This was not good. No, this was terrible news! But... yes. He had to be kidding. Right... RIGHT?!?!

Flicking his ears back, the jackal backed away slowly. "I'm...sorry for bringing this up!" He said, more worried now, really hoping she wouldn't hurt him.
Turning away now, he began to trot away from her. "I mean, you never know. I might not really know the future."
Flicking his head back at her, he gave her a smile. "I wouldn't worry too much, darling. You'll have a little white ratel to watch after you."
