My assistant manager gave me this jade plant. They're pretty hardcore and almost impossible to kill. Plus they look nifty. Anyone else have a jade plant? I named mine Billie Mac.

haha, nice name!
Is that named after 'Martha and the Vandellas' song??

Also, i remember seeing those plants all over the house when she was alive.
I never knew what they were called, but she had a lot in her kitchen window pane, along with aloe and various herbs.

You should let it grow this big, it only takes 27 years!

(( Kinda cute story, when i was little, Dare came to our school and showed us photos of various drugs, and said if you suspect drugs please call the authorities or tell you Dare Officer. I remembered my grandmother hanging something from the ceiling that looked like it, but didn't know what it was. So i turned her in for growing pot, and she was hanging herbs from the ceiling x_x))

Sweet jesus! that's a monster plant!! eek

Nawh I got bored and created a sordid story about my jade plant being the b*****d offspring of a momma jade and a dward apple tree that was traveling the carnival circuit. (mac being short for macintosh).

Interestingly my jade plant has a deep voice like barry white. go fig.

I've got one! I named mine moses, for whatever reason. It was about 8 inches high when I last saw it, double stemmed, and absolutely flourishing. I left it with my dad to put in his patio garden for the summer, so we'll see how it did when I get home!

I have a jade plant too! It hasn't chosen a name yet, so it's just my jade plant. (Well, actually, it's on loan from friends who moved to the UK and have moved back and are unable to house it.) However, it gave birth to a baby jade plant (also unnamed) that I'm definitely keeping.

PiercedPixie2: I have to go with Onicoe on that, with "Holy Mother of Pearl!"

http://www.bonsaisite.com/jade.html & http://www.bonsaigardener.org/jade-tree-bonsai.html

Any plant can technically be a bonsai. The term bonsai just means little tree and it's not tied to a particular species. Best bet is to find a plant with good structure and then trim it from there. It's a good start too - as you can get cheap fig trees or juniper plants and test things out. :3
