If you're new to the guild, welcome to Tears from the Sky. This guild was made originally as a home for the RP Tears from the Sky. It was once a thread in the Barton forums and has transformed into what you see today. We have added a few more RP's to the mix along with some other great stuff here and there. The main forum is all about the original RP Tears from the Sky, so everything there pertains to it. All gaians are welcome to look around and joining is free. Follow the links to each topic as you read this and everything should move smoothly. Each link will be in purple, with blue underlines, following the paragraph describing it.

The first thing you should do, is to go check out the "Profiles" topic. It may make reading the summary a little easier if you understand who the characters are that are in the story. There is a list of all of our current characters and their bio's. (Characters whom are not listed here, were likely people who left the rp under certain circumstances or who disobeyed the rules and were deleted from the list.)

Profiles

Next you should go check out the "Storyline and Summary" topic. It has the whole story thus far, in a nut-shell version (so you don't have to read all of our pages of previous posts...unless you're one of those gung-ho people that have to know every detail of the past storyline, we still have a link to the old thread listed as "Archive" on the Summary page). This guild used to be just a thread in the Barton Town forum, but we've recently transitioned to here. But be careful as sometimes we get a little behind on making sure that this is constantly updated, so please read the last few posts in the actual rp to make sure you're in the right place.
Storyline and Summary

Think you like what you see? Ready to join in on the action? Only a few things left. You first need to make a character skeleton. If you are unfamiliar with this term, it simply refers to what you previously saw in the Profiles topic. It's a guide to making your character's profile. The character skeleton is located under the "Character Skeleton, Rules, and The Thin Line" topic. Follow the guide and have your information filled out to the right of each of the dashes that look like this " - " . (You should save a copy for yourself on your computer just in case something happens, so that you have it with you and won't have to do it over.)
Character Skeleton and The Rules

A fairly normal part of any guild and still... nobody likes this part, but it's a must to join. You need to read the Rules. These are under the same topic as the character skeleton.

And lastly...(I think that's a word...lastly... lol), The thin line is my simple system of keeping the rp moving forward. Nobody likes waiting on a person to post, especially if they have been gone for quite some time. The thin line is a way to keep tabs on the members who have been neglecting to post for about a week. (It is also understood that things happen and circumstances arise where you may be unable to post. Depending on the case, The thin line can be stretched some.)
The Thin Line

You're now ready to send me a PM with your character skeleton asking if you can join. Simply sending in a join request to the guild won't necessarily work. I'll just send you a PM telling you to take a look at this guide. :Warning: Don't skip the rules and read through them carefully before sending me your PM, or else you may not get in.

Once you have been accepted, you are free to have your character jump into the rp. Simply go to "The RP" topic and join in. You can also visit "The OOC" topic which is our Out Of Context posting area inside the guild. (We also have another OOC thread inside the Barton Town forum, this is so gaians can see our storyline and link to this guild, seeing as it is not on the guild list.)

There are extra topics and subforums in the guild that change around, be sure to check them all out and have fun. I look forward to your PM.

Alright, so now that you’ve gone through all of the information pertaining to making a character, here’s some interesting topics you might want to check out for your own enjoyment. Listed below are a few fun topics we have going on to promote interaction with your fellow players and even perhaps a little nudge with literacy.

First I should point you in the direction of the Introduce Yourself topic. Here you are free to write as much or as little as you wish about yourself to give us an idea of who you are. Also, you will find most, if not all, of the current guild members have posted about themselves as well. Feel free to browse through and add your own personal flare.

Introduce Yourself

Next I would like to draw your attention to the Member Forms as well as the area to submit these forms. Again, this is not mandatory but I do recommend it as a fun little activity to better understand the people you will be role playing with, and allowing us to better understand you. First you would need to visit the Member Form Layout, to pick up the skeleton you would be filling in. Next you would take that and post it in the topic, Submitted Member Forms.

Now that you have an idea about the other people in this guild, let’s get you a little more comfortable with the lay of the land. There is a lovely map, created by our very own Jade Ralden, that shows the different kingdoms and cities that you will be visiting in your role-playing. I suggest checking out the map and getting yourself better acquainted. Don’t worry if you can’t remember where things are, the map will be there for reference should you ever need it.

Alright, now if you find yourself getting confused about anything, or perhaps you have an idea on how you think you might be able to help improve the guild, you are always welcome to message one of the Crew but we also have a topic for that. Crew members can certainly find themselves busy and may not be able to promptly reply to your messages, however if you go to the Questions and Suggestions topic another member may be able to assist. Keep in mind, however, that all changes to the guild should be first addressed and requested to a Crew member.
Questions and Suggestions

So as I’m sure you may have noticed there was several Sub forums above the main Forum. All but the Crew Forums are open to everyone in the guild and I encourage you to check them out as each one has its own unique purpose.

Super Duper Awesome Random Subforum of Randomness is essentially open for random topics such as Random Cool Pics where members can post pictures of essentially anything they would like (though I ask nothing inappropriate and also try to keep the pictures small enough not to stretch the page, that’s just annoying). There is also The Story Game where one can help move along a rather random story by posting a few lines, or possibly just one line.

WIP, or Work In Progress, is a subforum meant strictly for role plays that members might create that have nothing to do with TFTS. This is where said role plays would be posted. I encourage you to check out what’s there and join, if you wish.

My Quiet Place is a slightly newer subforum with the purpose of perhaps just spilling your deepest thoughts. If something is on your mind and you need to get it off, please feel free to go and post in the Dear Diary topic, as some of us have. You can post anything, essentially, whether it be why you’re so pissed off or just about how your mom sucks because she grounded you. Maybe you have something cheerful you’d like to share? Whatever it is we encourage you to vent it there!

So, there you have it. Now you are well versed in the layout of the guild, though of course this is but a few of the many topics you can choose to be a part of. I encourage you all to wander about, check every nook and cranny you are allowed to and post if you would like. Interact with your fellow guild members as it helps with good role playing. And, if you are feeling lost of overwhelmed, speak to others in the guild. The crew are not the only ones who would love to help you along.
