 Susan found himself once more bored and wandering aimlessly out in the open. He sighed, musing on how hot it seemed to be out today. Looking around for some form of shade or anouther he spotted a small cluster of trees, that turned into some woods with a moderately small stream running through it. "hm...?" Somewhat curious and feeling pretty bored, Susan trotted into the cluster. "There," he said smirking slightly to himself as he walked towards the stream, leaning over and looking into it. "much better." Susan leaned over the edge slightly and peered at the moving water, it was fairly clear and he was certain that it was pretty shallow as well. He dipped his paw into it slightly and jumped back falling roughly on his back, his legs sticking up in the air. "DEAR LORD THAT'S COLD!!!!"

 Life was nothing more than a hiccup in the journey of her soul. Yes, she'd decided that. Or something like that. As Mostyn mused on this new revelation, she wandered between the trees. Where she was going was known to none, not even herself. There wasn't much for her to do. She knew no one; she had no relatives, no friends. Even the tiny animals of the forest fled from her paw-falls. That was fine, she'd also decided. She needed nothing more than the ability to be with and understand herself. Stepping around a rather large tree, she looked up, taking in the sight of dancing leaves overhead. Rustic eyes remained glued on the world above, which she would never reach. The sound of water reached her ever-attentive ears, however. They twitched, the long fur at their tips waving gently. It forced her eyes from the unreachable world and back to the path just before she took and unwanted step into the water. She stared at the stream for a while, watching it curved around the rocks and down--she assumed--hill. Eventually her paws moved once more, pulling her forward and with this small stream she'd discovered without meaning to. Step, step- Her ears pinned back against her skull. What a loud noise! Peeking around a nearby bush, she spotted the source of the exclamation. Eyes remained focused on him now as she moved to take a seat just a little to the left of the bush.

Susan laid flat on his back for a moment or two, before quickly rolling over and righting himself. He shook his head and then wriggled his paw, trying to get the water our of his fur. He looked over his shoulder, back towards the accursed stream and glared at it for a few moments. He shook his head thankful for the fact that no one was around to have seen his rather embarrassing display. "It's ok Susan, no one saw that... no one knows you're a dork. You're good to go!" He pranced around happily and just as suddenly as he started the girly-prance, he stopped. There, by a bush was pretty spotted-green girl, staring at him. At that moment Susan could not have been happier for his black fur, otherwise she might have seen him blush. He sat down, trying to seem unfazed by her being there. "Um... Hi... So, how long have you been sitting there??" Though Susan sounded cool, on the inside his stomach was knotting 'please don't say long, please don't say long' he thought frantically.

It took the femme a minute to realize that his words were directed at her. So focused on watching and analyzing, she hadn't the faintest idea that she was even noticeable where she sat. Eyes lowered away from him, scanning the ground and the water at his paws. "Hello," she spoke, clearly and softly. Despite his worries, she seemed completely unfazed by his earlier display. In fact, she made no mention of it as she slowly shook her head. A smile found its way to her maw as she lifted her eyes to him once more, having found her answer (or so it seemed) somewhere on the ground. "Not too long," she assured. A little lie, but a white one, nothing that would harm him, she was sure. "I was just following the water."

"Oh." Susan responded, his manly pride restored, and not thinking he pranced halway towards the new girl, before stopping to catch himself, and began to walk back up to her in a more 'macho' style. He tilted his head slightly and smiled widely at her. "My names Susan." He wished he could have died at that slip. "Er... uh... i mean... ANTHONY, ANTHONY!!! MY NAMES ANTHONY!!!" He couldn't help but throw his paws over his head, feeling like an idiot and burying his face in them. He sighed exhasperated, and lowerd one of his hands slowly to reveal one of his rainbow eyes. "Please pretend i didn't do that..." he shook his head slightly, trying to dissolve the embarrssment from his mind, and lowered his head slightly. "what's uh, what's your name?" he asked, barely above a whisper.

Blinking, she idly wondered why he seemed so nervous about it one minute, then pranced just as nicely as before towards her. Was he confused? Still, as she thought it over, she couldn't help but let out the start of a gentle giggle. It dissipatedly as quickly as it had started, though, her ever-thinking mind now forced into conflict between the first name her memory had been offered and the second. Well, by his vigorous correction, she assumed the first name he'd given had most certainly been true. And again she wondered about him. Why did he feel the need to hide things from her...? Oh, she recalled... They were nothing but strangers. Her smile faltered a bit. She was so new at this. "I'm Mostyn," she offered. "I'm glad to have come across you, Anthony."

Susan's head shot up at that statement, and a wide gleeful grin broke out across Susan's face again. "THANKS!" he let out enthusiastically. "That's GREAT, thanks!" Susan was stoked. She hadn't made fun of him, she hadn't even commented about it! She'd jus tottally bought it. She kicked a**! Susan had to desperately fight the urge to glomp her. She didn't seem like the type of person that would liked to be glomped... or even touched really. He wondered briefly what kind of a person she was, which lead to the thought of 'what he was' he scowled on the inside, he didn't like thinking that way... he was only concerned with what others thought of him. Maybe that made him shallow... but he didn't care. Which brought him to his next thought... "What's your name?"

"You're welcome." Why was he so excited? Even with all her analyzing, she wasn't sure. Still, she gave him a thoughtful look and a genuine smile. Her little tail wiggled for the briefest of moments. Canting her head to the side, she examined the bark of a tree past the male's head. How it was different no matter where she looked. It was just like the flow of the water, she remembered. Each time it swirled around the rocks stuck in the bed looked dissimilar to the last. "Mostyn," she responded, blinking once, twice, then returning her gaze to her questioner. "I'm Mostyn." With each syllable, her gaze seemed to find something else to focus on temporarily. In the end, however, it always came to a rest on her company again.

Susan sat down as he heard the girls name. He turned his eyes skyward and looked the leaves as they swayed in the wind. All the different shades Kept reminding him of Mostyn's fur. "Mostyn..." He mused aloud, it was a nice name, he liked it. He wondered what she was doing here for a moment, and then decided it didnt much matter. His wide eyed grin slowly transformed itself into a small innocent smirk, and he lowered his gaze back to Mostyn. "Mostyn." He repeated, just liking the newness of the name. "That's a very beautiful name, and it seems to fit you perfectly."
'CRAP.' Susan thought as soon as he said that, 'That was pretty corny...'

((No worries, I just went with it. Accidents happen, after all. :3))
"Beautiful?" she asked, canting her head. He'd seemed interested in remembering it, anyway. At least, that's what she got from him repeating it. Still, she'd never considered her name anything more than a description of her physical self. Maybe things like that could be beautiful. Mostyn had never considered it before. "Thank you." Rising from her sit, she looked around. "It's nice that you think so." Eyes looked back to the stream she'd been following. "Would you like to walk with me?" she asked, feeling a need to following the flowing water again. It has led her to an interesting encounter. Maybe it could lead both of them to something else, too.

Susan quickly stood and trotted leisurely up to Mostyn, looking up he saw that the sun was still far from setting so he smiled and nodded his head. "Yes, I think that would be a great idea... just be careful not to step into it though. I did and trust me, it's friggin' frigid!!!" Susan couldn't help but shudder at the memory... or the thought that someone might have seen his reaction. He felt his cheeks getting slightly warm and he was yet again happy for the fact that he had black fur.

Mostyn watched his reaction thoughtfully, understanding from what she'd seen and heard earlier that he was being truthful. Still, she kept quiet about having been a witness and instead nodded. "Thank you, I'll be careful," she responded, looking momentarily unhappy about the thought of stepping into something that could so easily freeze her paws. She shook the look away just as quickly, though, and moved past him a few steps. "Let's go this way," she said, a shoulder indicating the way she'd moved--the path she would've continued on had she not met up with him. "I hope that's okay with you." Unill he answered, she waited where she stood. Of course, she really was interested in seeing where the stream went.

Susan nodded his head, always eager to please. "sure, I don't mind, it sounds like a great idea, i was just wandering about so it wouldn't hurt to wander some more." Susan smiled and trotted up alongside her, he sat down and extended his paw and arm in the direction that she had motioned too. "lead the way, m'lady."

She was glad he seemed willing to go along. Honestly, she probably would have gone on her way regardless, but it was always nice to have company. At least, it felt that way now. He was actually the first Ulaya she spent any time with besides herself. It was a bit of a surprising experience, considering she'd always thought being alone was just fine. "I will then, thank you," she responded with a smile, tail picking up another little wiggle before resting again. Mostyn lingered a while longer, gaze shifting to the water and watching its flow. "Let's go." Lifting her paws slowly, she walked on, eyes only leaving the water to examine a nearby tree or land on her company for a moment. "Do you live near here?" she asked idly, wondering if he knew where this stream went.

Susan thought that question over for a minute, Tsu and his family lived here, but he wasn't really a part of Tsu's family, he was just an odd add on, almost like a tumor, feeding off of the rest of the groups love and food. Sure, they welcomed him to stay with them, but would that be considred a home? he had left hadn't he? shaking his head slightly, Susan turned his head to Mostyn, "no, i don't live around here. i don't live anywhere really, i have a few friends here that i stay with from time to time, but other than that, i tend to come and go as i please..." He was quiet for a moment, looking at the small path that they were walking along, and observing all the little pebbles that had yet to make it into the stream. "what about you?" He asked looking at Mostyn's green fur and noticing how it tended to blend slightly with the background. "do you live around here?"
