Vanilla's day had started off rather pleasant, and she woke up early to a sunny day and decided to make the best of it. She left her cozy little nook under a tree and skittered as quickly as she could to a pond she rather liked. It was full of many fish that kept her entertained and she sometimes was able to see some interesting creatures along the banks. But today when she arrived it was rather quiet and empty, and she assumed that was because it was kind of early in the day. "No matter, might as well say hello to my friends." She then said, with a cheerful tone. The Usdia then made her way towards the water's edge, and sure enough many fish fled around her tiny hooves. She came to the bank almost every day, and her petite size never bothered the fussy fish. They must of sensed her kind intentions, and all and all they gave her a sense of enjoyment when some of her days were rather lonely in interaction. The summer was supposed to be full of fun and adventure, but Vanilla was a bit too scared to make her way out into the world alone. She wondered if that would ever change and at night she hoped so!

UGH. Arun had awoken to NOISE. NOISE that was much too early. Everyone was out and about, laughing and playing. He noticed an abundance of children running around, and apparently he had always found the worst place ever to sleep. Since he was smaller then all of the other horses, it bothered him greatly that everyone ignored his presence. When he had finally woken up, he shook his anger off and decided to leave the area. He didn't want to risk yelling at the noisy children, and THEN having the parents retaliate by kicking his a**.

What a pain. Everyday was a pain. He liked to believe he had hope sometimes, but lately he didn't. As he shuffled off into the woods, he stopped suddenly to see a small pond in the distance. The strange thing was, it looked like another creature was hanging around the pond. Arun wrinkled his nose as he stared ahead, and couldn't decide if he should investigate. When he noticed the smaller blur move, he moved himself forward again, until finally seeing something fall into the water. "What.. WHAT?" The stallion then darted forward, since it looked as though an Usdia or child had fallen into the water. Hopefully he'd make it in time, and hopefully he could help out the situation, even if truthfully he didn't want to!

Contrary to Arun's vision, Vanilla hadn't fallen into the water at all. She instead, had entered the water rather gracefully, with a big ol' jump! As she plopped into the water, her head bobbed under in delight, until finally making its way back to the surface. She grinned as the fish fled from her huge blast of movement, though shifted her gaze ahead at the moving figure. Why was something running towards her? As she watched, she noticed it was another Usdia, and he was moving awfully fast! She blinked as he finally entered the area, and tried to smile at his somewhat scary expression. "He-hello.." she then said, while moving herself into shallow waters so she could greet him. "I'm not disturbing you, am I?" His expression said yes, but his was a mix of exhaustion and anger that she really couldn't tell anymore!

What. What. What.

Everything was fine, and that was annoying. He felt a shrill of embarrassment towards the other Usdia's confusion, but at least she wasn't making fun of him? Instead she looked rather concerned, and confused as to why he had made his way over so fast. AND, she was worried that she had bothered him? Well damn. "No I.. I was just going to jump in myself." he then said, while putting on a big lying face.

He then backed himself up and decided to do the routine all over again. "Alright, here I go!" It was very out of character for him to pretend to be this playful, but if he admitted that he thought she was drowning, well then he really would be the idiot. And he'd never admit that. As he ran towards the water's edge, he took the biggest leap he could and made his way into the much cooler water. He had to admit, at least the action felt nice.

Once he had surfaced himself, he looked towards to the Usdia, and was glad to see she was giggling. "Hope you don't mind if I join."

Vanila was indeed giggling at the male in front of her, and she was truly surprised to be around such a forward personality. He was much more confident then she was and that was interesting to see. "I don't mind at all, I am actually thankful for the company!" And in truth, she really was. Finally she could sit and talk, and even play with another Usdia! She was always too intimidated to talk to bigger Soquili, so at least now she could enjoy someone her size.

"What happens to be your name?" she then asked, while moving herself back into the water. "I'm Vanilla!" she bobbed her head under water quickly, before bringing it back up to her guest. "I come to this area quite often, and luckily others rarely stop by. So at least it will be nice and quiet for the time being." She wondered if she was rambling, so she quickly hushed herself. She was just glad to be talking to someone else, but she didn't want to look too desperate.

A quiet area? Arun rather liked the sound of that, and he wondered if the mare enjoyed peace herself. "I am glad we won't be disturbed." he then said, while bubbling the water with his nose. "I'm Arun." He watched the mare carefully, and shook some water off his face before speaking more. "Do you come here often?" She seemed to know the overall atmosphere by heart, and she seemed comfortable too.

"I don't really like socializing that much." he then admitted, while dragging his eyes elsewhere. "I've been told that I'm rather unpleasant so I find it hard to understand others." Arun figured that he might as well explain his situation first hand, since he was rather horrible to be around. He did make one friend once, a nice Usdia mare like this one. But he hadn't seen her in so long, so after that he had given up on most communication!

Ah well, today was a new day, right? "I'd rather be honest with you now, since I can always leave at any point if you'd like."

Vanilla stared at the other Usdia, and seriously had no idea what to say to his words! Was he serious? Why wouldn't she want his company? She was rather anti-social herself, but others still talked to her. She had no clue about what Arun was talking about, so she decided to play along and be kind for his sake. Maybe he just needed a good conversation with someone to feel better about himself? And maybe he didn't carry the confidence she thought?

"I come here very often." she then said, while bobbing her head in a float. "But I must admit, you words are a bit confusing. I don't think I could ever ask you to leave, and I don't understand how you are unpleasant. You've been very pleasant, so please don't worry." When the mare felt a cool chill run down her spine, she decided it was time for her to make her way out of the water. The sunlight would warm her up again, and luckily it started to once she exited the water.

"So please don't worry Arun, I don't judge others at all."

Yeah yeah, that's what everyone said. But no one knew him at all. Vanilla was only seeing the good in the situation, and she wasn't understanding how he really was in personality. "Well, what if I get unpleasant? Wouldn't that make you upset? Any normal individual would get upset." With a light grunt, he noticed her exiting from the water, and he followed her since he didn't want to be in the water alone.

Even if she didn't judge others, Arun wasn't sure if he could 'trust' her yet. She seemed kind enough, but she could have been putting on an act. Lots of soquili did that since it was easier then being real. "Well anyway, tell me about yourself, Vanilla. Do you have any family or anything?" He raised a brow as he asked the question, and shook the water off his shaggy mane. "I have some siblings, though they annoy me. Like I said, I don't get along with anyone I guess."

"I don't think I would get upset at you really." she then admitted, while blinking slightly at her own speech. "I'd probably just be upset at the situation, and that's just normal for anybody right?" She felt awfully sorry for Arun, he seemed so negative and sad. She wondered why he was so damaged or hurt, and she wondered what she could do to help him.

"I don't have any family, I've always been on my own. I'm sorry to hear your siblings annoy you, maybe its just a misunderstanding? I've watched siblings interact and not everyone sees eye to eye." she hoped her words were true enough, and she shrugged lightly before lowering her eyes. Suddenly she felt tense in front of this male, and she was nervous about her own words! "But um, winter is my favorite season, since I was born in winter. Everything is so quiet and peaceful, I just love it. Besides that fact.. basically I am just me, nothing really special or strange to also report. I am just a lil' Usdia who is getting by I suppose. What about you, tell me more about your life and family?" She then gave him a hopeful look, and smiled happily in response. She wouldn't give up on him, not yet!

It occurred to Arun that this mare was completely on her own, and he on the other hand had grown up with a normal family. Although he liked to think it, he knew of no hardships and strife, and loneliness only existed because he made it so. Vanilla had probably experienced real loneliness on her own, and that made him feel incredibly selfish. It didn't help that the mare was still remaining completely positive through it all, and Arun just watched her with a lowered jaw, since he truly felt like an idiot sometimes.

"I ran over here because I thought you were drowning." he then admitted, while dropping his ears a bit. "I figured its better to be honest, and that's what happened." Already he felt better, and he shuffled his little legs around before staring back at Vanilla again.

"I really like winter too, though sometimes the cold gets me." He assumed Vanilla liked snow, and he wondered how easily she could blend among the ranks. "And even if you say there is nothing special, I can already guess a number of things that makes you special. Your kindness, your patience. There are many who don't possess that." He nodded lightly, before bringing his scattered eyes away from hers again.

"My life is fairly simple, my family was pretty interesting to grow up with, my brother and sister are twins so that's probably why I always felt a bit outcasted. I've always been rather obnoxious to others since I find it hard to trust others. So I like to live my life quietly day to day..." Yep, that was really it! He shrugged slightly and really couldn't think of anything that made him interesting.

Arun's random words completely shocked Vanilla, and it was only out of surprise really. She stared carefully at the other Usdia, and could only laugh happily once she had taken his actual words in. "Well, I suppose I am rather clumsy. I am sorry I gave you a scare. But thank you for the honesty, that's rather nice of you." Poor Arun, no wonder he looked so upset when he saw nothing was wrong. Vanilla must have given him a worriment he didn't need in the morning!

When he kindly talked about her habits, she could only blush profusely, since she didn't find those traits are remarkable either. "Th-thank you.." she then responded while wanting to hide her face some more. She had never gotten a compliment like that, so she was seriously surprised herself!

Luckily he went on to talk more about himself, so she could listen in and focus on him again. She was better at listening about others then talking about herself. "I think its hard to trust others no matter who you are, I even have that problem myself. And how exactly are you obnoxious, Arun? So far you have been incredibly pleasant." She nodded carefully, and hoped she wasn't offending him at all.

"I'll even admit, I find it hard to connect with others. I like my life to be simple really, but everyone else seems more focused on a crazy ideals and adventure. I mean, I like some adventuring, but not the kind that gets you hurt. My little legs can't handle nearly as much as some of the other and bigger horses out there." A light snort left her nose, and she felt sort of angry towards her size suddenly.

"I have my moments." he then said, while snorting a bit under his breath. Hopefully she'd never see them, though. He lightened up a bit as she spoke about herself, and her life seemed very similar to his own. That was refreshing at least. "I'm a bit surprised, your personality seems like the type that enjoys being around others constantly. You are friendly enough to make friends so to speak." Maybe she still didn't trust others, though? "That's just my observation of course, so I am surprise to hear that you enjoy being on your own."

He then paused and thought of yet another question to ask.

"What kind of adventuring do you like?" He then said, with a lighter grin. "I've always wanted to make it to the beach, but I've never actually been there." He wanted to believe that Usdias could still adventure around despite their size, but sometimes he just didn't know.

He was attempting socializing, and so far it was going well. He just wondered how long Vanilla would want to be around him..

She really didn't think of herself in that way, and she scuttled under her breath at his false observation. "I like having others around me, don't get me wrong." she then said, somewhat frantically. "Maybe others just don't like being around me?" Her tone was much quieter at this point, and her eyes were off of his since she was quite embarrassed. "I dunno what it is, but I've always been a loner."

Once a moment had passed, the mare decided to focus on his other words, since they were much cheerier and happy. "The beach? I can take you there right now if you'd like. I personally love anywhere with water, and the beach isn't far ya know." Yes, and if she took him to the beach, that would mean spending more time with a new companion?

"I'd happily lead you there, or anywhere else that you desire." She hoped she didn't sound too desperate, but the idea felt fun.
