Kuval awoke that morning with a frustrated expression and he was rather annoyed to feel the water had cooled around him. For days he had resided in a dense territory, but the sun was usual present on most days and it kept the water plesantly warm. But today things were different. The area was chilly and dark and Kuval was rather angry at such a sight. In a natural response he moved himself into a swift swim and made himself transcend towards the water's surface. The mystery of the cold water had been solved quickly, and when his head popped out of the water he noticed a cloudy overcast above him. Well great. Everything looked ugly and gray and even the water was mucky and dull. It was much warmer on the outside of the water, so Kuval decided to take a quick risk.

He really hated leaving the water, but since the environment called for it he decided to make his way towards the sandy beach. From his eyes the coast looked clear, and no crazy land dwellers would bother him or laugh at him for being a 'sea monster'. He could warm up along the sand and enjoy a nice walk or something. It was much to dreary and chilly under the water, so at the moment he felt compelled to explore a little bit. The fact that the sun wasn't cooperating with HIS day DID make him a bit shitty in spirit, but he was trying hard not to ruin his mood. Once he had made it to shallower waters, he knew that the sand would soon approach under his hooves. He rather liked the sand, and it always felt so crunchy out of the water.

Curiosity had drawn the young stallion toward the sea. A simple, plain curiosity to see if such a place existed. Oh, he didn't doubt what his mother had told him, how she had described her visits to the place and how she had played with the soft ground and splashed about in the water which tasted of salt and actually made her more thirsty instead of less.

He hadn't doubted it existed he'd simply didn't think of it as possibly being this big. Carefully picking his way down to the shoreline, sniffing delicately at the water lapping up onto the soft ground, his mind whirled at scenery his eyes were taking in, finding it a bit difficult to comprehend. It was no wonder his mother had found it so difficult to express the true beauty of this place!

His diluted jade eyes darted everywhere, burning each piece of rock, each lap of water into his memory. Amadeus usually wasn't some sort of poetic or even one to think of a place as worth more than a landmark memory, but this was something that he wanted--needed to try to remember this place in his mind; because he knew that the chance of him coming back were very slim, it wasn't as if he belonged in this sort of world afterall.

In truth, he didn't really belong in any sort of world, so he had to make these few memories of this place count for something.

Once Kuval was completely out of the water, he darted his eyes ahead and tensed at the blurred figure in the distance. So something WAS coming towards him. He couldn't tell what, but he supposed he should keep his guard up, and enjoy some interaction for the day. He could have fled back into the water, but that would be boring, wouldn't it? It had been weeks since he spoke to anything really, and as the darker figure emerged into sight, he noticed some similar traits on the creature and yet some not so similar traits as well. What -was- the stallion exactly? He reminded him of an old friend of Kuval's, who carried a similar horn on his head.

"Admiring the sea?" he then said, with a louder tone. He now felt compelled to get the other's attention, since it looked as though he was a Kelpi? So maybe he wasn't as mean as the other land dwellers then? His tail was rather different then Kuval's, but it looked as though he had some fins and such on his body. Kuval was blatantly a Kelpi compared to this fellow, but whatever mix he was was rather interesting to guess. "How does that tail of yours do when wet?" His question was rather random and to the point, but he was a curious stallion. And he demanded answers all the time! His own tail swished in response, and he eyed the stallion with a calmer gaze then usual.

Had Amadeus any less control, he would have jumped, but instead he allowed himself to tear his gaze away from the water and look at whoever had spoken.

Well, this was a surprise.

His frosted jade eyes took in this his form, a rather familiar form, though the only one he had seen besides this one was his sister. His mother had called them "Kelpis".

He cleared his throat, feeling rather awkward and bobbed his head once, "Yes, actually," He answered, glancing back at the waters for a second and returning his gaze back to the other stallion before he could get swept up by the waters again and resume his fool-act.

"Not very well, I'm afraid," He answered simply, lips quirking into a sardonic smile, as his tail responded as if on it's own to the attention, lashing against one of his back legs, "I assume yours does quite well? My siblings have tails very much like yours and they are much more adept in water than I can ever be."

Siblings, and with tails like his? "Interesting." Kuval then said, with a crooked smile. "So why did you get stuck with that tail if your siblings have some like mine? But, I am not implying your tail is bad in any way, I am just curious." he hushed himself quickly, and quirked his brows in an impish way. He had a tendency to play mind games sometimes, but at the moment he decided to remain rather calm and curious.

If the stallion in front of him had Kelpi features, why didn't it have a Kelpi tail? Kuval supposed some creatures in life were full of mystery. And that was a rather scary thought. It was why he really hated the land.

"My tail is definitely useful, especially since I am almost always in the water. But hey, tails aren't everything you know. Have you ever tried swimming yourself?" Now that was a question that seemed even more interesting to Kuval. Not all creatures enjoyed swimming, and in a way, they should have. That was Kuvals perception of course, and he was rather biased towards the sea. And if this fellow was somehow related to Kelpis, he must have liked swimming, right?

" I take after my mother more than my father," He answered calmly, arching a brow, "And don't worry, I'm used to implications by now. There's nothing to worry about," He felt the ice slide over his mind and himself falling into the usual lack of emotion state when people decided to mess with his blood.

Amadeus shrugged his shoulders, nodding, "There was a lake near our home where we were growing up, we played there every day. So yes, I do know how to swim. I enjoy it as much as the rest of my family." He smiled faintly, remembering their games.

"You live in this sort of water, yes?" He asked a bit suddenly, jerking his head toward the water, "What's it like?"

The idea of mixed blood was hard for Kuval to understand, since technically he hated most land dwellers in theory. But still, it was not his place to judge this young stallion, and it appeared he knew how his family worked and that he had thought deeply about his traits and sense of being. It must have been hard, really.

"That is good to hear, swimming is just wonderful in sport and fun." He then paused quietly, since he was happy to answer the other's question. "Yes, I live in the sea. Used to live in a pond but that didn't go so well. I prefer the sea water for its taste, and since you can either be covered by all sorts of creatures, or find the perfect territory to lurk and relax."

"The sea is mysterious, so only some are able to survive in it. You never know what's lurking, but living here is worth it. There is so much beauty everywhere, and its like its own huge world." Kuval was quite disconnected from the land dweller's lives, but he was still interested secretly.

"So, are you unable to live underwater because of your mother's traits? Where do you find comfort on the land in terms of living areas?" he then said, with a slight nod. "The land is quite hearty just like the sea, so its nice that both variations are full of life all of the time."
