Quote:
Today was actually night. The lioness whom had entered the pridelands a few days ago returned,. She was hungry, and the rogue lands were scarce on meat ths time of year. She only hoped the place where the male she had met held life to support her. Stalking against the night sky, her pelt stuck out like a sore thumb, the gray against the black. Her eyes had no help, as they almost glowed gold against the silver moon.

Quote:
Obi had been a little upset that the female he had met a few days back hadn't taken his offer to stay in the lands a little longer. He really had wanted to get to know her but instead she had left and goodness knows if he would ever see her again.

Tonight he couldn't sleep. He would normally sleep at night but he wasn't in the mood to. He was feeling restless so had decided that he would go wander the borders again. It wasn't his job to be a guard but he did love to at least wander up and down every now and then just keeping watch.

His black body was hidden in the darkness of the night, his white markings just showing up slightly when the moon reached them. Though it shocked him as he walked that he saw someone who he recognised. The female was back! He didn't say anything at first he just watched her smiling.

"Hey there stranger."

Quote:
She would have jumped if she was a cub again. Instead, she turned around, knowing the voice wasn't that of a stranger. "Hello" she greeted, her stance of that not in a tense pose. "If I didn't think so, I would say you were stalking me" She laughed, slinking over to the male. "So what are you doing out here?" What was he doing out here, that was a pretty stupid question considering these lands were his lands and not hers.

Quote:
"Couldn't sleep." Might as well tell the truth now!

"I didn't expect to see you around here again!" He was surprised to see her. He had been so sure he wouldn't see her again after her turning him down before. Maybe this meant he had a second chance?

"You hanging about here for a bit longer this time?" He could hope couldn't he?

Quote:
"I wasn't expecting to be here this long either, truthfully." If he was telling the truth, then she would be truthful as well. "Something just told me it wouldn't be to wise to travel for a few more days. With the way the draught is on the roguelands, it's nto safe to travel." She admitted. "So that eans I am here for a while." She grinned. "Until the rains come, that is."

Quote:
Obi couldn't help but smile.

"After the ground moving as much as did a few nights back I don't think it would be safe to travel anyway. Who knows what it was and what could be out there because of it." The earth moving as it did freaked Obi out and he still didn't know what it was or why it happened but it was a good excuse to try and get her to stay!

"So would you care to let me show you around now?"

Quote:
So, he expierenced the earth shake too. How many other lands had been through it. "Was the ground shake minor in your lands?" Her ears were perked forward, curious. It had not been so bad where she was, but it still had an affect of what little trees there use to be to go down. Though, she wasn't affected by it as much. She just thought it as something the gods didn't appreciate on the roguelands, but if Obi had felt it, that answer couldn't be true.

"Okay" She said after a moment. "I'd like that"

Quote:
Obi would have shrugged if it were possible. "Can it be minor?" He had never experienced it before and so was rather confused that it could be minor or major.

Was she saying yes? Woooo!! That made him happy.

"Come with me, I shall show you around then, as it's dark we won't run into anyone. Most sleep at this time."

Quote:
She shrugged. She guessed it could be minor...? Maybe...Oh she didn't know! She just know it was a slight rumble where she was, and that was it. "Those who are normal sleep at this time." She joked, making fun of the male but also her in the process. But nonetheless, she followed the male lion. If it wasn't for the cat's night vision, it would be pretty hard to follow the black shadow.

Quote:
He chuckled at her as he led the way. Where to go first?

"I will take you to the waterhole first, just because it is rather central and then we can decide where to go, if thats okay?" He was so happy that he was actually taking a female somewhere, this was all rather strange to him. It wasn't a bad thing, after all it was the first female who hadn't run off after he spoke to them!

Quote:
"To the waterhole it is!" She grinned, following the male closely. "Have you always lived here?" She asked, analyzing his past. He had probably told her befoe, but in truth, that was a few days ago, so....her memory wasn't to keen on remember things at the moment. "And never thought of leaving?"

Quote:
He nodded.

"Yep always lived here and yeah I have thought of leaving but I would always come back. It's my home, where I was born and brought up. I dunno I don't think anywhere else would feel as much as home as it does here." He was rambling a little but he loved his home and would talk about it all day long if he could!

Quote:
She frowned slightly. Good thing she was behind him or else he would have seen. A home. Oh, that's what she wanted, but it was in her instinct to travel. Never had she actually settled down as much as she wated too. "Must be nice." She muttered, brightening up after a moment. "Is that the waterhole?" Sh asked, her maw pointing to the water that casted the moon's reflection on it's surface.

Quote:
He looked behind her and was about to ask if she was okay when she spoke.

"It is indeed!" He smiled and trotted over to him, letting his front paws rest in the water. It was nice and cool. He loved it. It was so pretty with the reflection of the moon as well.

"Isn't it pretty?"

Quote:
Pretty was just an understatement. The way the moon reflected it's silver glow in the sky was beautiful enough, to reflect it twice in one area was almost speechless. She nodded, her golden eyes resting on the reflection, before moving into the water. She lapped up some, before her paws sank just by the elbow. She watched the ripples, grinning slightly. So, the lands was as pretty as others said it was. "i can see why you stay." She said softly, gazing towards teh stars. So bright in the dark sky!"

Quote:
"You should stay here too." Okay he was hinting again. It didn't really bother him that much that he was being forward or that it might annoy her but he really did want her to stay. She was the first possible female friend he had.

"Oh and look over there, that's Pride rock!" You could just see the outline of the large rock in the darkness and parts of it shined from the moons light. He was trying to get her to fall in love with the place.

Quote:
And she was falling for the place, but something in her just told her it ouldn't happen. Not yet at least. "I can stay here for a few days.." She agreed partly. In all truth, se really didn't know if she would be suited fo pridelife. She didn't know what to expect! When he glanced towards the large rock, she couldn't help but have a jaw drop. "Wow." was all she could muster up.

Quote:
It was working, he was sure it was.

"I should show you the place when the sun is up it is even more stunning!" He laid down on the bank, his front paws still in the water. He just watched her trying to work out what it was she was thinking.

Quote:
"Well show me!" She giggled, splashing water at him slightly. She was rather intrigued with these lands, such beauty they held at night made her want to stay. But...Oh, she really needed to stop thinking pessimistcly about this stuff!

Quote:
"Well I will but it's dark at the moment so maybe in the morning?"

He laid his head on his paws and looked up at her wondering whether or not she will go to sleep. At least then if they slept now then in the morning he could give her the tour but he would let her decide.

Quote:
She moved out of the water before stretching out. She then rolled onto the back, watching the stars and slight grey clouds roll across the sky. "This land is truely beautiful," she murmured, rollin back on her side. She yawned. Ru was tired, but the slight tinge of should she sleep here was crawling inside her mind. Oh, what the heck? What could it hurt? She did another yawn, her eyes closing after a moment before her breathing evened out. She was asleep within minutes.

Quote:
Obi watched her as she drifted off. Moving from the water but not too close to her so to give her space he curled up as well. It was strange to curl up outside his den but it was worth it. If he could get Ru to stay in the pride, yes it would without doubt be worth it!
