K i z o k u A flurry of dust kicked up in the air as lean legs went to work. Front and back paws never touched the ground in the same moment as the finely tuned muscles stretched. Weaving along with her prey, Jain let out a final burst of speed to close the gap."You're mine." The still warm rabbit lay at the female's feet, staining the grass with its final heartbeat. Her head tilted, Jain licked her lips. It was her first kill since entering the strange lands, and hopefully a sign of better times to come. Ahead was the rumored Duma'Chama, something only whispered about as she grew.
A squawk interrupted her meditation. "Oh, wait your turn." She wrinkled her nose at the bird, her tail twitching in agitation.
Time to move.Gripping her meal with her teeth, she slunk to the shade of a neighboring shrub. Today had been peaceful, no need to spoil it fighting off scavengers. Her body relaxed as she settled in the shade, her eyes lazily wandering to the sky between bites. The branches swayed across the sun's image, creating a soothing ripple of warmth.
Here the past seemed long gone; it was as far as the sun itself. Now was the time for a rebirth of hope for her kind.

It was a pleasant day for Aailyah as the lands were quiet and the members were at ease. On most other days, the leader found herself constantly in motion, helping those around her and answering questions to new members. Even with her appointed leaders it seemed she still played an incredible role with the other cheetahs.
A part of Aailyah felt proud for achieving what seemed to be such an impossible task. Solitary creatures banding together in order to save their species? It seemed almost foolish. Despite the odds, Aailyah had struggled to convince others of her kind that a group, or safe haven was only beneficial.
And yet, behind her happiness was anxiety. The position of leader was much more than the cheetah was cut out for. In fact, Aailyah knew that Duma'Chama was not hers, but simply her creation, or gift to her son.
Chura, the timid young green cheetah did not seem fit yet, but his mother knew of his great potential. He would rule the family as a father, not a King.
This thought of her son eased her mind slowly and the cheetah made her way to the land's borders. Soon they would appoint scouts and guards to watch the borders, but for now, she was happy to keep an eye out for wandering cheetahs in search of assistance.
