Rain pools in rippling puddles on the street, just as it clings to the cold glass of windows. Overhead the dark grey sky rumbles a tiger's purr, and in the ensemble of raindrops hitting various surfaces are- faintly, the small chirps and pattering feet of a drowsy city's inhabitants.
Kiere Carden likes the rain. On this day she walks along dimly-lit streets with an umbrella, stopping now and then to cuddle and comfort a bedraggled cat. Nothing much has changed, although in a small town such as this, it's only to be expected. But that's when she notices a shop with a glass door on the street opposite, with a sign on it that says "Adventure Inside". Almost by impulse- perhaps driven by curiosity, she runs across the empty road and pauses for a while to catch her breath. Pushing open the door, she hopes they don't mind her dripping on the floor- but to her surprise, there is no one there.
Courtesy stops her from exploring, and so she folds up the umbrella, leans against the counter. That's when the lady comes out from the back room, apologizing for making her wait. Her voice is soft and melodious, her smile radiant, her dark blue hair pulled up in a high ponytail. And it appears that her name is Miriamele- or just Mere.
When Kiere asks about the sign hanging off the door, Mere gives her a wide grin and walks over to the back room, signaling that she should follow. Inside there is another girl- one who bears an uncanny resemblance to Mere, save for their hairstyle and the fact that she wears a deadpan expression on her face.
The girl introduces herself as Laille, and she holds a small, seemingly hollow sphere in her hand. Hoping she hasn't stumbled on a couple of lunatics who might just kill her any moment, or some arcane ritual that might involve human sacrifice, Kiere does as Laille instructs, touching her fingertips to the faintly glowing sphere.
And in that moment she feels herself being sucked into some sort of portal-wormhole-thing. As the world swirls and twists around her, she only vaguely manages to hear Mere gasping, saying something about forgetting to give her a bait- and then she falls out of the darkness into blinding light.
It takes her minutes to recover from the shock, and that's when she notices she's sitting on.. grass, damp grass, beside a cheerfully gurgling stream. Irildë :: Izael :: current RPs :: arts :: ?

personality: The perpetual scowl on his face hides an easily spooked dreamer. Although he is the older Gladier, Izael is very reliant on Irildë. He is prone to getting himself lost, especially when questing for something to add to one of his many collections. He is, however, a fierce fighter- especially when his sister is in danger. *day one: 24 May 2009 "What" is the only word that's left in my vocabulary right now. This place is completely alien, and it's most definitely NOT anywhere near London.
On the other hand, I have to concede that it's pretty. So different from home, where everything is painted in shades of grey. Here there are plants- animals too, presumably, and the water is so beautifully clear.
I would rather, however, have been told that I was going to be sent here. Darn those sisters- if anyone knows how to get out of this place, it would be them. Can't say it wasn't my fault, though, for walking into a strange store that said "Adventure Inside" on it. Suppose I got what I asked for.
