I'm Atheist.
Reason? Christianity seems too far fetched. I've never met a christian who doesn't use an unbelievable book as proof. That doesn't cut it for me.
I would go deeper, but I just woke up.

A book isn't enough to convince me that someone died, came back from the dead and his dad created the world.
I get really annoyed with teachers when they bring God into the discussion. At least have some respect and realize that not everyone shares the same beliefs as you.
Because I won't hesitate to tell them that it's complete bullshit.
Personally I believe in the Big Bang Theory. If they can't prove "God" exists with Science or have enough historical proof about it, then I will continue not to believe.
In my opinion; someone created God to be happy about dying and then wrote this fantastic fiction book. Then fill your mouth with all the money you will save.

Exactly.
I live in Georgia. So religion is prominent in my school. We read "when their eyes were watching god" in class. It annoyed me to no end. There were only two other atheists in the class.
I have a religious family. Which doesn't bother me as long as they respect my non belief.
I think that the idea of a god was created by leaders to keep society in order.

Christianity...I really see no reason why not. Its not really for goin' to heaven or s**t... I really don't agree with the bible on lots of things, like how old the universe is, but its the fundamental idea of faith. I honestly admit, that even with my pitfalls, it feels good to think that someone out there, real or not, gives a damn about my a**. Hope is hope, put blindly into faith or not. The point that made me think about it was, "If you're right, I've lost nothing. If I'm right, you've lost it all." I find it ironic how I look at things from this side of the fence...just a few months ago, I was agnostic. Nothings really changed, but I feel better. Whether thats just me or anyone else isn't my concern. Seriousness aside, I bring funny arguments from both sides of the table...

I don't see the point in converting...if theres only a limited amount of space in heaven (which is the thing with Jehova's Witnesses and a few other religions) then why convert at all? More room for you, right?
'Sides, forcin' your religion on someone is so not cool. I try to avoid doing that as much as possible.

 I use to go to a Baptist church when I was younger, but I've since abandoned all religious beliefs. So, I guess that makes me Atheist? I'd much rather go with science which has facts I can actually grasp onto.

Go drill your gases, go dig your graves;;I went to several Baptist churches growing up, even though I didn't really believe in God. It's not that I didn't, I just... didn't really know what I believed in.
My dad told me that I couldn't go to church anymore, because it was interrupting with our "family time". I was kinda upset, but I didn't really say much. Since I was older I always got to watch over the little kids at church, which I liked doing, surprisingly.
But I moved on... and now here comes the pathetic part. When I was in the 7th/8th grade I was the biggest poseur/loser ever. I was "emo" and I was just... ew. It was scary. But anyways. I was friends with this girl who was Agnostic.
What do you think I 'became'? Agnostic.
But then I thought I believed in God again for most of the 10th grade, I even wore cross necklaces and such. And then I realized that I was only bullshitting myself.
And I'm an Atheist now. It's kind of annoying how everyone at my school seems to think that Atheism = Satanism when it doesn't. neutral
It's kind of hard because my great-grandmother is a very, very religious woman as well as her children [my great-aunts] so whenever we have family get-togethers I have to listen to all of their religious whatever and pray and all that stuff... but I do it because I love my g-g.
But the rest of my family is just kind of neutral. We don't really have a set religion even though with my heritage being Scottish, we're Baptist... but IDK.
We're just not religious people.

My great aunt asked for weeks for me to go to church with her. I finally caved in after she bought me clothes. It was funny to me. I just sat there for the two hours. Luckily it wasn't a baptist church. They kept on singing "He touched me" in a song. I almost burst out laughing because I just have a perverted mind.

Well, I don't really get why people hate Baptism so much.
Everyone is like "Your family is Baptist? I feel sorry for you." I've been to several Baptist churches and I don't get it.
