It's about time someone was brave enough to! A couple days ago, Funimation re-licensed When They Cry from Geneon {who, Btw, stopped distribution at Vol. 3} It is likely we are getting a new dub as well. There is no release date yet...but I'm guessing around December. Hopefully sooner.
No word on Rei or Umineko yet...but keep those fingers crossed.

Omg!!! There actually is a release date!!!
Volumes 1-4 will all be released September 30!
So it's likely they stayed with Geneon's dub version...which I have mixed feelings about. I just don't like Rika's dub, her Ni-pah` is terrible.
Also, no word on Volumes 5&6 or Kai's licence.

yeah i just got vol 1 the other day from FYE and then i looked on target.....which was a big suprise to me......that the 2nd and third one will be out in september, and the 4th vol september 30th.
i actually think they are going to come out with the 5th and 6th one.......in december from what i heard.

Well, I already have Vol. 1-3 ... the dub in volume 3 isn't that great by the way. But as soon as vol. 4 comes out, I'm getting it! It will have my 2nd favorite arc! mrgreen

Hm, I think I refuse to buy the DVDs.
The dubs are almost worse then Gravitation!
Do the DVD's have the Japanese audio and subs?

yeah they have both substitles and dubbed on the dvds. I also agree that the subs are better.

yeah they have both substitles and dubbed on the dvds. I also agree that the subs are better. The dubbed version is pretty painful to watch.

Dubs are to hard for me to watch. God, it's just so terrible how they get these half a** voice actors playing the characters. I'm completely on board with English subs, sure you might have to read a bit but honestly for an anime you love, it's worth it. I hope everyone likes the volumes, and here's to our new friend Umineko.
