What's a "temp?" If its anything like a provisional license(we call them "P's" here) you really do want something you can't get into trouble or hurt yourself with. I'd go with the Corolla IF you know where to get parts for it. This is an old car, and because of the Initial D fan-tax, service parts aren't as cheap as they should be. This is also an excellent car to learn how to drive with(forget the cartoons) for one reason: to get it going quickly, you will be feeling the very same thing from the chassis as you would with an extremely high-powered car. Only, at a fraction of the speed.

Part failures have a habit of causing chain reactions, even though they may not be immediately apparent.

OK, I don't know much about any of those vehicles. How would call your budget. I need to know this so I may recommend a vehicle.

So what did the guy end up getting? I like Saturn S-Series cars, they're cheap and peppy. My Saturn SC2 feels a lot faster than my GTO in normal day to day driving... so as long as I'm not dropping the hammer.
