"cherries on the sidewalk"
was walking down the street today
have you ever noticed, anne,
how many cherry trees there are?
although maybe trees is the wrong word
because I didn't see the trees
I only saw
cherries
small
red
circles
on the pavement by my feet
squish, squish, little cherries,
darker than wine
purpler than blood
bursting open with a little yellow heart and slick juice against the world
I wanted to eat them
but imagining the expression currently on your face, anne
made me walk on, smiling.
cherries!

Hungry.
I liked the imagery.

True that. They're not an aphrodesiac though, like chocolate-covered strawberries. Definite flaw.
