 The grey stallion's ears flicked slightly as he walked. Where he planned on going, he wasn't quite sure. Nothing was holding him back as he walked along. His mind seemed to wander as he walked. His legs seemed to know where they wanted to go, but his mind did not. Apple thought quietly about what he planned to do this day. Not a thing came to mind. It seemed this day would be dull. Alone, walking around aimlessly.
His ears flicked towards the sound of the crashing waves and he decided to go visit the beach. Apple seemed to be by the beach more often lately. It was fun to walk through the water and feel the sand beneath his hooves sink. The warm sun on his back. Water splashing filled the stallion's ears as he listened to the water next to him. It was relaxing near the beach, another reason he visited it so often.

 Melanie's hair wipped around her as she stared out to the horizon. She came here earlier this morning to watch the sun rise over the ocean. The wonders of the world around her always caught her attention and calmed her wild soul. It was sights like this one that made her wish she had someone to watch them with, whether it be friend or otherwise. She took a couple steps in so she could feel the waves crashing at her ankles.
A flash of red at the corner of her eye caught her attention and she turned to see the source. A gray colored stallon seemed to have the same idea as herself. Well it was lovely after all. To say something, or not to say something she debated. Mel shrugged and started off in his direction, leaving the coolness of the waves behind. "It's a beautiful sight, isn't it?"

Apple's ears flicked slightly when he heard another's voice. At first he wasn't sure if someone was really there or if he was just hearing things. His head turned towards the mare and a smile spread on his face, happy to see another around. "Yes, very beautiful." The grey stallion said, looking back out at the water then towards the mare again. He let his silver eyes look towards the thing around her neck, which had markings that matched the ones on her rump. Were they skulls?
His eyes shot back towards the mare's face, her light blue eyes capturing his attention. He smiled slightly then turned his head back towards the ocean, noticing that he was staring. Apple let an ear flick towards the mare to catch whatever else she would possibly say. "Would you care to join me?"

Taking a better look at male in question she noticed he markings of what looked like fruit, apples actually. Mmm sweet. Her eyes drifted back to his face and noticed he too was looking her over and she smiled. "What do you have in mind?" A walk up the beach perhaps. It sounded nice actually. Or even a gallop through the waves. She flicked her tail from side to side slightly as she looked back out to the ocean.

Apple gave a thoughtful look. He smiled to the mare and nodded towards the waves. "Wanna go run around in the water?" The stallion asked, waiting for the mare's answer. His long tail flicked behind him as he listened to the waves. He let his silver eyes look towards the horizon. One ear flicked towards the mare the other towards the sea.

Yes! Mel flicked her tail excitedly and nodded toward the stallion. "Sounds great." She stomped her hoof lightly in the damp sand then looked back up at him. "I'm Melanie by the way. I figured I'd tell you in case you needed to call my name if you fell behind." she teased and stared off up the beach, though stayed on the damper sand that the surf was swelling up on.

Seemed this mare liked the stallion's idea. This was a good start. He smiled to the mare and watched as she stomped a hoof in the sand. "Oh, and I'm Apple, just in case you fall behind." The stallion laughed a little and perked his ears towards the mare. It seemed there was a challenge for him to stay up with the mare. A race? Apple's long tail flicked slightly as he waited for the mare to lead the way.

Melanie smirked slightly at his gest, tilted her head a bit closer to the stallions head as if she was about to whisper something in his ear, then quickly grabbed hold a piece of his mane and gave a little tug before dropping it just as quickly. She bounded up the beach in hopes that she'd catch him off guard of the act. "That wont happen!" she yelled out to him as she continued up the beach.

His ear flicked in her direction when she tilted closer to him. He thought she was going to tell him something, but when she tugged his mane and ran off he laughed and ran after her. "Hey!" Apple said as he quickly picked his pace up into a jog after the mare. His hooves dug into the sand as he trudged along. His tail dragging behind him, gathering sand as he went along.

Melanie smiled and giggled to herself as she heard the stallion call out to her. It was a nasty trick, but alls fair in love n' war, she thought smugly. "Yes?" she yelled out to him, not taking her eyes off her objective but pushing herself to run a bit faster. The oceans waves brushing against her hooves as she continued, her strong muscled legs catching the stray water droplets that dispersed in the air as she ran.

He simply smiled as he continued his quick jog after the mare. At the sight of her picking up her pace, he too began to move his thick legs quicker. "No fair!" A laugh escaped his throat as he tried to catch up to the mare. His eyes remained on her to make sure he wouldn't get lost in the process of chasing her down.

Mel let out a husky laugh that gave away her exhaustion. "Anythings... fair!" she gasped out. Her legs were screaming for her to stop as she came around the bend. It was a pitty sometimes that she was fast but didn't have the stamina to stay at it for a lengthy period. With her soreness in mind she slowed down enough for her to come to a halt. Her nostrols flared and her brow was wet with perspiration as she shook her head and let the wave brush against her hooves. "I guess I can let you win this time" she said taking in large gasps of air.
