Both the books have their good and bad points, in book two Stephanie is more powerful and plays a more key part in the defeat of the enemy. Book one is more original and gripped me more so, what could i say, book 1 is better!

Count Draculady Both the books have their good and bad points, in book two Stephanie is more powerful and plays a more key part in the defeat of the enemy. Book one is more original and gripped me more so, what could i say, book 1 is better! Now, looking back book 2 is better because it is just plain funny! Skulduggery makes me laugh so much in number 2!

acutely, skulduggery inspired me to start writing, and i sorta based one of my characters on him (writing arena: the guardian angel "reyos") biggrin

They're both awesome.
I cried after what happened to Stephanie in Playing With Fire, but after the end of the chapter, I felt so stupid. My friends were looking at me funny because I just sort of burst into tears. xD
I'm writing down funny quotes from both books. Maybe when I'm done, I'll post them.

Well I got book 2, but I haven't actually read it yet. I'd heard from a friend it was much more gruesome etc. but now that everyone says its better, I suppose I will.

skulduggery: and only a moron would bring a sword to a gun fight biggrin
i laughed so much on that bit xD or:
malevolent: what you are saying, detective, is blasphemous.
skulduggery: your the one that dug up your own god O.o

I prefer the second mostly due to Billy-Ray Sanguine's introduction. I just ADORE witty psychopaths...and a little Southern drawl is pretty cute. Heh. I'm weird like that.
