 Ioriel straightened out the blue blanket that was stretched out over the sand. He was determined to make everything as close to perfect as he could. His paw went out, feeling around for the basket that held the food some of his friends had prepared for the evening. Friends, how odd it was that he had friends again...even odder that he was preparing for a date.
He felt the air beginning to cool, a sign that sunset was fast approaching. Hopefully the four bug laterns Dita had lit would keep the bugs away, and be enough light for Saturn to see. The laterns placed at all corners of the blanket.
Deciding that it was time for the finishing touches, Ioriel reached into the basket and pulled out a vase of blue roses that were dark in color, thought some seemed more lilac then blue. He felt around, gaging where the center of the blanket. Feeling he found the right spot, he pressed the vase down. The sand beneath the blanket shifting to form a little nest for the bottom of the vase. He pulled back. "All set."

 Saturn walked slowly and carefully through the trees, heading towards the beach where Ioriel had indicated. She couldn't be early, and she didn't want to ruin the surprise that Ioriel had made for her, and to be honest, part of her was nervous. She didn't know what would happen on the date, but she hoped it would be perfect.
Pluto and Hiromi had helped her get ready for the night; the activities including brushing her hair and fur until it shined, washing her clothes so that they were nice and crisp like new, and doing their best to calm the female's nerves before she left.
As the sun began to set, she touched sand. In the far distance, she could see four small flames and she set out after them. She smiled, blushing a little, as she recognized the figure. The sunset had painted the sky with beautiful hues of reds and oranges. Her heart fluttered as she gazed over the scene that lay before her. "Ioriel...."

Ioriel paused, when felt Saturn approaching. It was interesting how quickly he could tell it was her simply from the sound of her heart beat, or her foot steps. He was sure he'd be able to easily find her in any crowd.
He smiled when he heard his name spoken. "Just on time Lady Saturn."

Saturn smiled, her heart rate accelerating, and she let out the breath she didn't know she'd been holding until that moment. "I tried my best."
She looked over the area and took it all in, gasping at the flowers. "Blue... roses...." She could feel tears welling in her eyes and her throat starting to grow a lump in it; she was about to start crying from joy over how thoughtful Ioriel was. "They're the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen...."

Ioriel's smile softened. "I told you that I would get some for you."
He held a paw out to her. Tonight he would ignore the forgotten memories of his past as they pounded at the back of his head. She would be all that he focused on this night.

"Thank you, Ioriel..." She sat next to him and placed her paw gently in his. Her tail softly wound a bit around his as she enjoyed everything; this was the most perfect evening she could have possibly dreamed of, and she couldn't think about how lucky she was to have even met Ioriel in the first place. Every single warning flag she'd had the second she'd met him had now been replaced with fully out loving affections.

Ioriel held her paw up to his lips and feathered a kiss over the back of it. "Only for you my love."
The air cooled more as the sun finally set beneath the horizon. "I hope that you are hungry Lady Saturn." He gestured to the basket.

Saturn blushes a little, her stomach growling as if on cue. "I suppose I'm a bit hungry...." She leaned over and gently nuzzled Ioriel's cheek with her own. "This is absolutely amazing, Sir Ioriel.... It's a fairy tail come true."

"Fairy tales are not real Lady Saturn, this is very much reality." Ioriel felt around for the basket of food, only to realize that he didn't know where it was. He must have lost track of it when Saturn showed up. "My dear Lady Saturn, do you see the basket anywhere?"

Saturn let out a soft gasp; she'd completely forgotten that Ioriel was fully blind and had sat herself between him and the basket. "My appologies, I sat between you and the basket..." Her voice was soft, and it was clear she was dreadfully embarrassed. Carefully, she got up to move.

"Do not apologize Lady Saturn. It will work out better this way." Ioriel reached up a paw and touched his blindfold. He sent her what he hoped was a reassuring smile. "I am ill equipped to pass out the food."

Saturn let out a sigh of reliefe. "Then I'm glad that I'm in the correct place..." She sat herself down, feeling a bit better that she hadn't messed things up. "What is first to eat?"

"Whatever you wish Lady Saturn. There is some terra mesu and some cherries in there." Ioriel smiled and nuzzled Saturn's cheek lovingly. "I remember you mentioning terra mesu when we first met."
((I still don't know what terra mesu is, I tried looking it up but got nothing xP))

That was the last straw, and Saturn could no longer hold herself back Tears rolled down her cheeks and she tried her hardest not to burst out balling. He'd remembered everything from when they'd first met. She couldn't say anything, but tenderly she nuzzled him back.
(Tera Mesu is an Italian dessert of cake that is soaked in liquor and toped with a really rich chocolate custard and whipped cream. At least, that was the Tera Mesu I had)

"You're crying." Distress filled Ioriel. Had he done something to upset her? He reachs up a paw to wipe away a tear.
