"I'll be right back you two..." said a woman in her twenties with yellow eyes and white hair. A phone was attatched to her ear as she walked off. A squeel could be heard almost instantly.
Kepi was quite hot, sitting on the sand next to her vase. She was in all black, in the sun. Not a good thought. However, she didn't mind it too much. Arukesuki had placed them under a tree, to keep them all from burning. Kepi wanted to explain that it was impossible for her to burn; she was a demon and demons don't burn in sunlight. They don't like it, but the didn't burn.
She was taken out of her thoughts by a small 'Uff!' next to her. Another second, no more than half her size had tumbled out of his vase and landed in the sand. She rolled her eyes.
"Oke, didn't Mom tell you to stay in the vase?" she asked, an eyebrow raised. The little merman didn't seem to hear her at first. Kepi rolled her eyes. Sometimes... Okeanos was just too young for his own good.

Okeanos had been staring down at the stuff beneath his vase. It was not at all like his shelf--that's what his ma and Emerwe had called it--and it was so interesting. He didn't realize how far he was bending over the side of he vase until he flipped out of it.
"Uff!" He'd landed on his back, his tail in his face. It hadn't hurt thought. The stuff he was now laying on was not soft or squishy, like the pillows in Emerwe's den, but not hard like the shelf. It was... it was... he didn't know the word for it.
Okeanos attempted to right himself, something not easily done when you don't have legs. He propped himself up and sat up. He looked up at his sister and pointed at the stuff beneth him.
"Kepey, wa es dis stuff? Es so... so... grainey," he asked her, picking up some and sniffing it. It smelled of... nothing.

Kepi rolled her eyes again. Just like Okeanos to ask about something rudamentary as 'sand'. She walked over to him, and patted him on the head.
"This would be what we call sand. And no, I do not know why it is called that way. But you can built stuff out of it, when you pour water over it and stuff," she said, seeing her older, but smaller, brother about to open his mouth to ask "Wh'?". She batted his hand away from his nose, dumping the sand out of it.
"Don't sniff it, Oke! It's not good so sniff!" she said with a sturn look. Sometimes... she seemed to be the older sister. He was not fit to be older that she was. He was just too innocent for the role.

The little merman blinked and tilted his head to one side. "Ya can bui'd stuff out'a it?" he asked, picking up another handful and watching it fall through his fingers. How could someone build something out of something so... so... loose?
He saw his sister roll her eyes at him. "Wha? I sor'y I ain't as ta'ght as ya, Kepey. I es ve'y yo'ng ya know..." he said with a small glare. He may be smaller than her, and he may be less educated, but he was still her older brother.

Kepi shook her head at Okeanos and sighed. Yeah, with that speech you sound very 'taught' Oke... she thought as she sighed. I know that, Okeanos. I'm not trying to offend you. It's just sometimes you're too young for you're own good," said the little demon girl. She plopped down on the sand next to him, with a tiny bottle of water. After a moment, she pored some water onto the sand.
"See how the sand changes color? This means it's wet, and we can build stuff out of. Watch," she explained before creating a mound of wet sand. Kepi glanced at Okeanos as she created a sand castle. He was very interested it seemed.
"See? This is how things are build out of sand."
