Namini let out a surprised squeal as an impatient driver zoomed past, rudely throwing murky waters off of the street and onto the girl's bare legs. What a day for the weather man to be wrong! Lightly shaking one leg at a time to remove the excess water, Namini looked once again before crossing the cobblestone street. At least she had her umbrella to keep her torso dry. Flip-flops soaked and squishing uncomfortably with each step, the curly-haired teen finally stopped in front of a cozy looking shop. With a home-like feel created by the walls of gold and reddish hues, combined with the mind-numbing aroma of herbal teas and warm biscottis, Namini felt her spirits being lifted as she entered the cafe, a small bell singing her entrance. The employees made a cheerful "Hi!" and Namini grinned, thankful for their pleasant appearances and the warmth now embracing her icy body. She turned politely and began to close her umbrella at the door so that she didn't leave a terrible puddle on the floor, when her soggy flip-flops squished once more, this time a bit more obnoxiously, a bit more evilly and Namini winced in anticipation as she felt herself lose balance.

The homey atmosphere combined with the pleasurable warmth was only part of the reason that Wit Fluteriouslle frequented this place. In addition to the lovely indoors, the cafe sported a wide variety of teas that the halfbreed was especially fond of. Hat sitting in the seat beside him, he'd been engrossed in his own little world, a world that currently consisted of a cup of tea and an invitingly warm croissant that was simply begging to be nibbled at.

Said nibbling had been about to commence when his green eyes happened to warn him of something somewhat wet and falling in his general vicinity. Upon noting that it was a young woman, Wit was up on his feet with an unearthly speed, his cup of tea being the only casualty as he caught Namini about the shoulders, though he quite nearly had to duck under the table to do so.

Eyeing his now tea-wettened sleeve, he sighed ruefully, wishing that the rain had not caused him to make the choice to ditch his usual outerwear in favor of the tan trenchcoat. The thing was obnoxiously bulky and he felt hampered...the spilled cup of tea mute testimony to his lack of grace.

"Ah, careful careful, Miss, are you to be being quite all right?"
Minor tragedy averted, he now turned his attention to the girl he'd caught in his arms. The tea disaster could wait.

One second, two seconds. ..Fifteen seconds. Where was the crash? The reflexive yelp of pain? The floor!? Hesitantly opening one of her cerulean eyes, Namini soon widened them both as she found herself staring upward right into a strange man's face. Blond with lovely green eyes, she couldn't help but stare deeper into this intriguing appearance. He had crimson eye tattoos and silver piercings as well, making him seem even more...cooler. But wait..what happened? His foreign manner of speech finally forced the brunette to return to reality, return to the positioning of their intertwined bodies. His arms had wrapped themselves carefully around her delicate shoulders and with an unpredicted strength, drew her somewhat close to himself, preventing the maiden from a horrid collision with the sleek ground. Blushing wildly in embarrassment, Namini instinctively jumped from the man's arms and bowed three times fast, her tight curls jumping up and down with her.

"I'm so so sorry for this. I'm really clumsy and and are you sure you're alright? I am such a klutz. I do such dumb things all the time and did I get you wet? I'm sorry, I really am so so sor--," she stopped half-way up her fourth bow when her sharp eyes then noticed the tea stain settling on his sleeve. Even more panicked now, the apologetic teen rushed to the counter, her watery sandals forcing her to skid awkwardly a bit on the tiled floor, and returned to the vampire with a handful of napkins. Namini's brow had furrowed into a concerned expression as she stumbled across her words yet again, still apologizing even as she helped the man back to his seat.

"I'm a terrible inconvenience to such a kind man like yourself," she mewed pitifully, patting the sleeve carefully but firmly, determined to remove as much of the liquid as possible. "But.. really... thank you so much for.. catching me." A smile, a flustered glance to the floor, and then Namini's attention returned once again to the persistent stain.

Wit, however, had dismissed the spilled tea completely by this time, his mind jumping quickly from one thing to the next, and he smiled beatifically at the young woman. "This one is fine, is to be of no worry." His low voice was completely calm, in fact, if anything, he seemed slightly bemused by her sudden fluster.

Cat-like eyes gleamed almost playfully, "The ground is tricksy, no?" Surprised at her scramble to clean things up, Wit watched the napkin escapade for a moment before he said anything about it. "And this one could help with that, as he said, is not to be trouble." Procuring a napkin or two for himself, he helped her with the clean-up, swiping up any lingering wetness on the table itself. "Youses are not the first to have spilled or slipped-like in the history of the world, fret not."

Trying his best to ease her conscience on that score, he smiled faintly, "And the Wit has caused bigger messes by his lonesome." Rolling his damp napkins into a ball, he then floated them over to a wastebasket, where they sank obediently amongst the other trash.

Namini's cerulean eyes trailed after the man's kind hands as they effortlessly cleaned up the remaining tea off the tabletop. This man..was really too nice!! Namini furrowed her brow, quietly attempting to understand his words, but was continually overwhelmed by her self-consciousness. He made it seem like it was really no big deal but she had disturbed his peaceful tea time and had even made a mess of his ..perhaps? new jacket. This couldn't possibly be overlooked so easily and yet he continued to try and ease her fears, even using himself as an example,

"And the Wit has caused bigger messes by his lonesome."

And with a flick of his wrist, tossed the dampened napkins into a nearby trash bin, seemingly trying to erase the problem with such a simple gesture. Namini tried to smile out of courtesy, but the guilt was building. What could she do to repay him? What could she do? He seemed quite amused by her flustering, smiling the entire time, and it was this that finally flashed an idea into her head, the reason she had actually come to the shop!

"You said..your name was Mr. Wit?" her uncertainty leaking out into her speech. "Is it alright if I made it up to you over a cup of tea? Or perhaps you'd like some cake? There is a cake store around the corner and well...Sorry if this is a little forward or anything, I just feel really bad about what happened. I.." another nervous blush. "I won't take 'no' for an answer so please, allow me to make it up to you.."

Really this girl was too delightful! Now that he was done, Wit folded his hands and cocked his head, listening attentively to her words. It wasn't often that he had the chance to make friends, and this was a stellar opportunity, to tell true. Grinning then, he nodded quite happily at her offer. Goodness...so nervous...what was it with the young ladies these days?

"Wit. No mister." He said easily, "And this one is more than happy to let thee make up for it, though he doesn't think you should needs to, was to be being a simple accident." Giving a little half-bow, he then ran fingers through his hair, straightening his clothes. "And who are you to be being, my dear?" The little miss had not yet addressed herself, and he was quite curious by this time, to have a name by which to call her in return. Fair was fair, after all, was it not? "Though calling you miss and dear might to be suiting, is not entirely friendlylike." Far too formal for what Wit usual manner was.

"So, what shall we be doing first then?"
She'd mentioned both tea and cake, to of the blond's favorite simple pleasures in the world. Oh he could tell that they were going to get on splendidly.

As the blonde man offered more and more of his intriguing language to Namini's curious ears, the girl felt herself grow quickly adjusted to it. It wasn't that words had been removed or pronounced in a dyslexic manner; It was simply that where they had been flip flopped or shifted to was against the common slang and formal style of English. Smiling at this quaint revelation, Namini echoed her relief in a honeyed response to Wit, "My name is Namini Nao and thank you very much Mr-- I mean, Wit."

Mimicking her newfound acquaintance, Namini then straightened her own attire out so that the shorts weren't clinging so terribly to her porcelain thighs and that her sandals were better positioned: beneath her feet and not to the sides. Just as the brunette began to re-scrunch her curls, Wit seemed to hit a peak of curiosity when he asked, "So, what shall we be doing first then?"

"Ah, that!" she yipped, remembering her rushed proposal. Taking a moment to consider the options, Namini finally chirped, "Let's head to the cake shop."

By heading to such a place, they would be able to sit and get some hot food into their empty stomachs. Or at least Namini's.

"Plus I know they have a few drinks so please, this way."

Taking the lead, Namini opened the door for Wit and then reopened her umbrella, the rain still drizzling, though lightly.

Namini had picked up on what most did not, that there was nothing wrong with Wit's intelligence, it was simply his manner of speaking that enhanced an almost childlike attitude towards life and the world in general. To tell true, much of it was a facade that he himself had erected, his own barrier against things he'd rather not think about, and it suited him nicely.

Green, feline eyes lit up when she mentioned moving on to their destination, and he flashed her a brilliant smile. "Ah then, Miss Nao, let us go!" He would afford her the same politeness she had given him at first, until she told him to do otherwise. After all...she was a young lady.

Snagging his hat and placing it atop his head with a practiced, obviously habitual motion, he eyed that umbrella of hers as he ducked out the door, glad that she had one, for he certainly didn't. The weather hadn't been quite this wet when he'd left the house, and Dwee would scold him terribly if he caught a cold...if he could catch a cold, that is, they'd never quite proven that theory.

"Please, Wit, call me Namini. Or "Mini" if you'd like," the cheery brunette sang, the smooth wooden door slipping from her fingertips to a bittersweet close, as if bidding its new friends farewell forever. That's when Namini came across an awkward realization. Wit was quite tall, especially compared to her. She glanced at his tea stain with a furrow of her brow. Walking would be a bit difficult for them and she already had done so much damage, she couldn't risk any more.

"Here."

Though one would take this as an offer, Namini's voice possessed a commanding undertone as she held the umbrella's handle out to the blonde man. The raindrops were slow and dying so she just jumped out into its embrace with a brilliant smile on her face before continuing on as if she were as dry as a lonely beach during the summer. Namini scanned the dreary Durem streets before pointing to a feminine-looking cake shop well indeed sitting around the corner. The gold painted lettering read "Les petits gâteaux" and rosy colored lights, shining through the large windows, welcomed them from afar.

"There it is! Please, follow me," she chuckled softly.

"By which oneses do they usually call thee? If this one is to be being thy friend then he shall to be calling you Mini, if such is acceptable." A flickering of pleasure darted across his face, the thought of meeting a new friend creating such in the blond. He'd made friends in his life, but for various reasons had kept only a seldom few. Dweian was most assuredly one of them.

Making a soft, surprised sound, startled when she handed him the umbrella, he quickly stepped out behind her, as though afraid she might escape him, and he unfurled the umbrella, being particularly fond of the things, actually, an held it high enough for the both of them, though mostly towards her. "My dearie-dee, the Wit is to be being having a hat for just these purposes, this one is not to be getting particularly soaked, 'tis a wee shower, is it not? Not to be fretting."

Turning head slightly to spy the little cake shop, he realized he remembered it now, dimly, and perhaps he'd even been there, but this was one place where his memory deserted him, and the blond simply assumed that it had been a bad day, that he'd visited the place...he, after all, occasionally had relapses into the realm of cold, dark sanity. Wit tried to remember them as little as was humanly possible. "This one is right with youses." He informed the girl calmly, falling into step beside her, his long legs quite easily matching her strides, giving her a tiny smile, finding himself particularly grateful for what he now considered a fortunate accident. No use crying over spilt tea, after all, it could have been far worse, than the finding of a new acquaintance.
